The DJ cat trend, also called cat DJ or DJ dog, is a wave of AI videos where a pet headlines a sold-out arena: paws on the decks, a huge grin in the close-up, the crowd going wild under one spotlight. Add one photo, and your cat, your dog or you play the DJ.

Original reel by @beachboymax, 30 s

The original AI reel by @beachboymax: an AI-made fluffy dog headlines a packed arena at the DJ decks, in a close-up, from behind and from the crowd, then dances and waves under the lights. Pet puts your cat, dog or other pet in its place; Human puts you there.

How to make the DJ Cat video on MakeViral

Everything runs in the browser. No editing app, no prompt to write, no watermark.

  1. Add your photo

Press "Create your own" and add your photo, face clear. Take it with the camera or pick it from your library.

  2. Press Generate

The button shows the price. Seedance 2.5 puts your photos into the DJ Cat trend clip and copies it shot by shot for 15 seconds, with the reel's original song. You write no prompt.

  3. Download or share

The video is ready in up to several minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in My videos.

Which photo works best?

Upload one photo: of yourself for Human, of your pet for Pet.

  • Pet: one animal, face to the camera, eyes open, in daylight or a bright room. The arena is dark, so a dim photo makes dark fur disappear. A photo that shows the whole body helps, because your pet stands up at the decks; a sharp head shot still works.
  • Human: waist up or more, face to the camera, sharp and in good light. Your clothes come from the photo, so wear what you would DJ in.
  • No sunglasses, no hat that hides the face and no beauty filter.
  • Any background works: the arena, the decks and the crowd come from the reel.
  • One subject per photo. Use your own photo, a friend who said yes, or your own pet. Never a celebrity or a stranger.

Where did the DJ Cat trend start?

The clips copy the look of a stadium DJ's arena highlight reel: a close-up at the turntables, a shot from behind towards a sea of phone lights, and the view from the floor with the DJ tiny under a single spotlight. AI creators began remaking those shots with animals in the DJ's place, and the joke is that the footage takes itself completely seriously.

On 17 October 2026 @beachboymax, an Instagram account for a Havanese called Max, posted "DJ Max is in the house": an AI-made fluffy dog working the decks in a packed arena, tongue out in the close-up and waving to the crowd at the end. By 7 November it had about 839,000 plays and 27,600 likes. Other AI pet versions of the same shots appeared, a Pomeranian in a striped shirt among them. On 30 October an AI template site began to offer the pet DJ arena video, and on 6 November a DJ cat template for cats and dogs followed. People post the clips under tags like #catdj, #djcat and #djdog.

You do not need these: the one-tap flow runs them for you, together with the trend clip. [Image 1] and [Image 2] are your two photos, and [Video 1] is the trend clip the video copies.

Video prompt

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same dark arena packed with a cheering crowd and phone lights, the same DJ booth with two turntable decks and a mixer, the same white spotlight from above, the same camera angles, cuts, timing and moves. The ONLY change: the dog DJ at the decks is now the person in [Image 1], a human DJ standing behind the booth. The DJ = the person in [Image 1], in EVERY shot: copy the exact face from [Image 1] (face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles) exactly as in the photo. They wear the clothes from [Image 1]. The same real person in every frame, from the first second to the last, so their friends recognize them at once. A human body with human arms and hands: never a dog, no fur, no dog ears, no snout, no paws, no tail. Never morph, never drift back to the dog from the video. Shot 1 [0-4.5s]: a close-up from the front across the turntables and the mixer, the packed crowd and its phone lights behind. Shot 2 [4.5-8.3s]: hard cut, from behind the DJ towards the sea of phone lights, the decks at the sides. Shot 3 [8.3-15s]: hard cut, a wide shot from inside the crowd: raised hands and heads in dark silhouette in front, the DJ small and centered behind the booth under one white spotlight from above. The performance, matching [Video 1]: 0-4.5s: the DJ leans over the decks, both hands on the mixer and the jog wheel, and grins into the camera with the mouth wide open in pure joy, the head bobbing to the beat. 4.5-8.3s: seen from behind, hands on the front edge of the booth, the DJ faces the crowd, sways, then turns a little to the decks; only the back of the head shows, with the hair from [Image 1]. 8.3-15s: the DJ dances behind the booth under the spotlight and raises one hand to the crowd. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music. Rules: one DJ only at the booth, one head, two arms, two hands with five fingers each. Keep the crowd as it is in the video. No text, no logos, no watermark.

Video prompt

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot. [Image 1] is the pet. The dog at the DJ decks becomes the pet in [Image 1], in every shot, clearly recognisable, a real animal with natural animal anatomy, paws on the decks, never human hands. Keep every move, every scratch on the turntables, every paw raise, every cut, every camera move and the timing exactly as in the video. Keep the arena, the spotlight, the DJ decks, the crowd and the lighting unchanged. Keep the pet's face clearly lit. The pet = the pet in [Image 1], in EVERY frame: the same species and breed, face, eyes, ears, muzzle, fur colors, fur length and markings as in [Image 1], with the natural body volume and proportions of that animal: never flattened, squashed, stretched or merged with anything. Whether [Image 1] shows a cat, a dog or another animal, it stays that animal, standing up on its hind legs at the booth like the dog in the video. The same pet in every frame, from the first second to the last, so its owner instantly recognizes it. Never drift back to the dog from the video: never its face and never its coat, unless [Image 1] shows them. The performance, matching [Video 1]: 0-4.5s: front paws on the mixer and the jog wheel, the mouth wide open with joy (a dog may let its tongue hang out, a cat keeps its own cat mouth), small head bobs to the beat. 4.5-8.3s: seen from behind, it stands on its hind legs with its front paws on the edge of the booth, facing the crowd, then turns to the decks. 8.3-15s: small under the spotlight behind the booth, it dances and lifts one paw to the crowd. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music. Anatomy rules: one head only, one muzzle, exactly two front paws on the decks, animal paws, never a human hand. No extra animals, no people at the booth. Do not add any text or logos.

How many credits does it cost?

You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the video, made in one step from your photos and the trend clip, charged once. One video is 228 credits, so the smallest one-time pack that covers it is $39.99 for 450 credits, with no subscription. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video.

What happens in the DJ cat video, shot by shot?

Both versions copy the 15 seconds of the AI dog reel that people replay: the close-up, the turn to the crowd and the view from the floor. Your photo takes the DJ's place in every shot:

How it works: the best AI video models available, including Seedance 2.5, edit the reel itself: they swap the DJ for the pet or person in your photo and keep the arena, the cuts and the camera. You get 15 seconds, vertical 9:16 at 720p, with the reel's original audio put back after the run. A run takes 5 to 15 minutes, and the exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. Every run is a new take, so results differ.

Pet or Human: which DJ cat version should you make?

  • Pet is the trend as people post it. Your cat, dog, rabbit or other pet stands at the decks with its own face, fur and markings. A cat DJ keeps its cat face; a dog DJ may hang its tongue out like the original. This is the DJ cat AI video most people search for.
  • Human puts you in the same reel: your face and your clothes behind the decks, the same crowd and the same spotlight. Make it to post next to your pet's version, or to play the headliner yourself.

Caption ideas: "My cat when I open the treat cupboard", "Sold out. Headliner: Mochi", "DJ Biscuit, live tonight", "POV: the dog runs the after-party". A DJ name for your pet makes the joke.

Want more pet performers? Make your dog sing at a grand piano in the dog Bohemian Rhapsody video, or play the drums in dog drummer.

What goes wrong, and how do you fix it?

ProblemFix
Your pet gets curly golden furThe pet in the reel is a fluffy golden dog. The prompt bans its face and coat, but a dark or blurry photo lets it come back. Use a sharp, bright photo and run it again.
Your cat looks too small or too big at the decksThe pet stands up at the booth like the dog in the reel. A full-body photo helps the body come out right.
A paw looks like a handThe prompt asks for animal paws. Run it again.
You get fur, dog ears or a snout (Human)The prompt bans them. Use a sharp front-facing photo of your face and run it again.
The face is small in the last shotThat shot is the view from the crowd, so the DJ is small under the spotlight on purpose. The close-up at the start shows the face.
The model refuses a photoSome photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo.

Which sound, caption and hashtags should you post it with?

Your clip comes with the reel's original audio for the same 15 seconds, so it is ready to post. You can turn it off on the result screen and pick a sound in TikTok or Instagram instead. The audio belongs to its owner, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it.

Hashtags: #catdj (168.5 million TikTok views on 7 November 2026), #djcat (74.8 million) and, for dogs, #djdog (172.5 million). Keep the platform's AI label on.

FAQ

DJ Cat trend questions

What is the DJ cat meme?
It is a wave of AI videos from autumn 2026 where a pet plays the decks at a packed arena, cut like a stadium DJ's highlight reel: a close-up at the turntables, a shot over its shoulder towards the crowd, and the view from the floor. The cat DJ meme and the dog DJ meme are the same joke: the footage is dead serious and the headliner is a pet.
Where does the DJ cat video come from?
AI creators remade the shots of a real DJ's arena highlight reel with animals in the DJ's place. The version this page copies is @beachboymax's AI dog reel "DJ Max is in the house", posted on Instagram on 17 October 2026, with about 839,000 plays by 7 November. Our template follows its shots and timing; the real DJ's footage is never used.
How do I make my cat a DJ with AI?
Press "Create your own", pick Pet and add one clear photo of your cat. Press Generate; the button shows the price first. You get a 15-second DJ cat video with the reel's original audio, and it waits in My videos when it is ready. You write no prompt.
Can my dog be the DJ dog?
Yes. Pet works for dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals. Your dog stands at the decks with its own face, fur and markings, so you get your own dog DJ video. Use a sharp photo of one animal with the face clear.
Is the cat DJing meme the same as the dog DJing meme?
Yes. Cat DJing and dog DJing clips are the same arena joke with a different animal at the decks. Pick Pet and add a photo of your cat or your dog: you get your own cat DJ video or dog DJ video from the same shots.
Can I be the DJ myself?
Yes. Pick Human and add a clear photo of your face. You take the pet's place in the same reel, with your own face and clothes, the same crowd and the same spotlight.
Is the DJ cat real?
No. The dog in the original reel is AI-made, and your video is AI too, built from one still photo. Nobody filmed your pet at an arena. Keep the AI label on when you post it.
Does the video come with the sound?
Yes. The reel's original audio goes back on after the run, synced to the 15 seconds. You can turn it off on the result screen.
How long is the video and what format is it?
15 seconds as an MP4, vertical 9:16 at 720p, with the original audio and no watermark. It plays on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Which prompt does this template use?
The creator of the AI dog reel shared no prompt. The Pet version uses the published template prompt for the trend, with rules that keep your pet's own face, fur and markings and ban the reel dog's look. The Human version uses our own words for the same shots.
Does the DJ cat video cost credits?
Yes. Each video costs credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. If a video fails, the credits come back.
Is there a DJ cat GIF or a cat DJ GIF?
A cat DJ GIF or a dog DJ GIF is usually a short loop of a pet at the turntables. MakeViral makes your own DJ cat video with your pet instead, as an MP4 file, not a GIF.
Is this the DJ cat TikTok trend or the Instagram one?
Both. The AI dog reel this page copies is an Instagram reel, and pet DJ clips spread on TikTok under #catdj, #djcat and #djdog. Post your DJ cat reel on either.
