The boombox rap AI trend turns two photos into a street rap video: you walk toward the camera and rap with big hand moves, while a friend walks behind you with a silver boombox on the shoulder. It has the look of the Connor Price and Nic D "Slide" video. You need two clear photos, or one for solo.

What the Boombox Rap video looks like

This is the original reel that started the trend. Your video is a new clip made from your photo in the same style, not a copy of these shots. No two runs come out the same.

Original reel by @iamnicd, 15 s

The first reel of the clip, posted by Nic D on 3 January 2026: he raps down a brick street while Connor Price walks behind with the boombox. Your version puts you and a friend in a new street scene.

How to make the Boombox Rap video on MakeViral

Everything runs in the browser. No editing app, no prompt to write, no watermark.

  1. Add the two photos

Press "Create your own" and add you, the rapper (in front), then your friend with the boombox. Add them in this order, because the order decides who is who in the scene. Take them with the camera or pick them from your library.

  2. Press Generate

The button shows the price. Seedance 2.5 films the Boombox Rap scene straight from your photos, with no in-between picture, for 10 seconds with original sound. You write no prompt.

  3. Download or share

The video is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library.

Which photo works best?

Upload two photos: first the rapper, then the friend with the boombox. Keep this order: photo 1 always walks in front.

  • From the waist or knees up, face clear and well lit. The AI keeps your faces, hair and clothes, so wear what you want to be seen in. A hoodie or a denim jacket fits the look.
  • Look at the camera or a little to the side. No sunglasses, and no hair over the eyes.
  • One person per photo. In a group photo the AI can pick the wrong person.
  • Going solo? Pick the "Just you" version: one photo, and a made-up friend in sunglasses carries the boombox.
  • Use your own photos, or photos of adult friends who said yes. Never a celebrity or a stranger.

Where did the Boombox Rap trend start?

The clip comes from "Slide" by Connor Price and Nic D, two artists who make many songs together and film most of them as one-take walking videos. They released the song on 3 January 2026 with a video on YouTube: the two walk down a quiet street next to a red-brick building, one raps into the camera with quick hand moves, and the other walks behind him with a silver boombox on his shoulder. Nic D posted the walk on TikTok the same day, the first reel of the clip (367,100 views by 17 October 2026). Connor Price posted his own take a day later, rapping in front while Nic D carries the boombox (189,000 views). People look up the song as "Slide Connor Price" or "Nic D Slide".

In October 2026 the walk became an AI template. From 15 October an AI video app ran TikTok ads for a two-photo version, and an AI template site listed it as the Connor Price Slide dance. The clip at the top of this page is Nic D's original reel. Your video is made from scratch: no real footage and no real artist's face.

Video prompt

A playful street rap clip filmed like a real music video for social media, in one continuous handheld shot with no cuts: the camera moves backward down the street in front of two friends as they walk toward it, and frames both from the knees up, so both faces are large, sharp and well lit. Photorealistic, soft overcast daylight, slightly warm film colors. The place: a quiet side street next to a long red-brick building with rows of windows, on a grey, overcast day: cracked grey asphalt with faded parking lines, a few parked cars far back, trees and low brick houses at the end of the street. The rapper, in FRONT on the LEFT, closest to the camera, is the one in [Image 1], in every frame: copy the exact face from [Image 1] (the face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles) and the clothes from [Image 1]. The friend with the boombox, half a step behind on the RIGHT, is the one in [Image 2], in every frame: copy the exact face from [Image 2] in the same way, and the clothes from [Image 2]. If an image shows an animal, that performer is that animal walking upright, with its own face, fur and markings, not a person. They are two different people. Never blend their faces, never swap their places or their clothes, never add or remove facial hair, glasses or hats. Each face stays the same from the first frame to the last, so their friends recognize them at once. The friend carries a big silver retro boombox on the right shoulder, away from the rapper, one hand on its handle, the speakers beside the head and never in front of the face. The friend nods to the beat, mouths a word or two and hypes the rapper up. 0-3 s: they walk toward the camera; the rapper raps straight into the lens, points at the camera and bounces on each step. 3-6 s: still walking, the rapper turns an invisible steering wheel with both hands, taps one finger on the temple and makes binoculars with both hands around the eyes. 6-8 s: the rapper leans toward the camera with a cheeky grin for the punchline, while the friend lifts the boombox a little higher and laughs. 8-10 s: the rapper raises one hand to shield the face from flashing cameras, then drops it with a big smile; both stop and give the camera a cool nod. Audio: an original upbeat, bouncy hip-hop beat that plays from the boombox, the rapper rapping short, clean, playful lines in English in sync with the mouth, and the friend's short ad-libs. Exactly two people, nobody else on the street, one boombox, no extra arms or hands. No text, no subtitles, no logos, no brand names on the boombox or the clothes.

How many credits does it cost?

You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. One video is 126 credits, so the smallest one-time pack that covers it is $14.99 for 150 credits, with no subscription. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video.

What happens in the boombox rap AI video?

SecondsWhat you see
0-3You walk toward the camera down a quiet brick street, rap straight into the lens and point at it, bouncing on each step
3-6Still walking, you turn an invisible steering wheel, tap a finger on your temple and make binoculars with your hands
6-8You lean in with a cheeky grin for the punchline, while your friend lifts the boombox a little higher and laughs
8-10You shield your face from flashing cameras, drop your hand with a big smile, and you both give the camera a cool nod

Your friend keeps walking half a step behind you the whole time, the boombox on the shoulder away from you, nodding to the beat like a hype man. The video is vertical (9:16), 10 seconds, with an original beat and a rap in English. The street, the red-brick building and the boombox look the same in every run; your faces and clothes come from your photos.

How does MakeViral make the boombox rap video?

The video is made straight from your photos with Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's newest video model, with no in-between picture, so both faces stay close to the photos. The real Slide video stars two real artists, so we never copy their footage or faces. No creator has shared a prompt for this trend either, so we wrote our own: it describes the street, the walk, each hand move second by second and the boombox-on-shoulder look, and it keeps both faces large in the frame.

The beat and the rap are new, made by the model: the song "Slide" is not in your video. If you want the real song, add it from the TikTok or Instagram sound library when you post.

The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. If a run fails, the credits come back.

FAQ

Boombox Rap trend questions

What is the boombox rap AI trend?
It is an AI video trend from October 2026: two photos become a street rap clip that looks like a music video. You walk toward the camera and rap with big hand moves, while your friend walks behind you carrying a boombox on the shoulder. People also call it the boombox rap trend, the Slide boombox trend or the boombox walk trend.
What song is in the boombox rap trend?
The original clip plays "Slide" by Connor Price & Nic D, released on 3 January 2026. If you heard "hit 'em with a fus ro dah" in a boombox clip and looked for the fus ro dah song (or the fus roh dah song), that is the one: the line nods to the shout from the video game Skyrim. Your MakeViral video has an original beat and rap instead, so add Slide from your app's sound library when you post.
Is this the Connor Price Slide video?
It is the same idea, not the same footage. The real Connor Price Slide video from 3 January 2026 stars the two artists, and the clip at the top of this page is Nic D's own TikTok reel of it. Your video never uses that footage or their faces: it is a new street scene with you and your friend. Some sites call this template the Connor Price Slide trend, and some people search for a Connor Price Slide AI or Connor Price AI version: this page makes it. MakeViral has no link to the artists.
Who are Connor Price and Nic D?
Two artists who release many songs together, such as Slide, Scoop and Too Easy in early 2026, each with a short walking video that they post on TikTok. Connor Price said in January 2026 that Slide reached Spotify's Top 10 debut chart. People search the song as Slide Connor Price Nic D or Nic D Slide.
Is this an AI rap video generator?
Yes, for one scene. If you came for an AI rap video generator or an AI rap video with friends, this page makes one: add photos of two people and the AI films you rapping down the street with your friend on the boombox, like a rap duo AI music video. This AI rap trend is one of several: see the Hotel Lobby duo in an orange studio and the Fergie Baby swagger walk too.
Can I make the boombox rap video alone?
Yes. Pick the "Just you" version and add one photo: you rap in front, and a made-up friend in a denim jacket and sunglasses walks behind you with the boombox. The two-photo version is closer to the trend.
Does the friend have to be a man with a boombox on the shoulder?
No. In the original reel a man carries it, but any adult friend works: the AI keeps the face, hair and clothes from photo 2 and puts the boombox on their shoulder. Use photos of adults who said yes.
What is the prompt for the boombox rap AI video?
No creator has shared one: the trend comes from a real music video and an app template that shows no prompt. Ours is built in. It describes the brick street, the walk, each rap move second by second and the boombox, and it bans logos, brand names and extra people.
Does it cost credits?
Yes. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything, and if a run fails, the credits come back.
Are my photos private?
Yes. MakeViral does not post your photos or the result anywhere or show them to other users. The result goes to your private Library, and you can delete it there at any time.
