The phone on the train trend (also the Training Season train trend, or the phone taped to the train trend) is a 2026 reel joke: you tape or stick your phone on a metro window, sing on the platform while it films you, then run after the train as it leaves with your phone. Here you take the singer's place in the most-liked version, in Paris. You need one photo.

Press "Create your own" and add your photo, waist up. Take it with the camera or pick it from your library.

  2. Press Generate

The button shows the price. Seedance 2.5 puts your photos into the Phone on the train trend clip and copies it shot by shot for 22 seconds, then keeps the reel's own ending, with the reel's original song. You write no prompt.

The video is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library.

Which photo works best?

Use one sharp photo of yourself, waist up or full body. The video takes your face, your hair and your clothes from it, so wear what you want to be seen in.

  • Face to the camera, in focus, good light, no sunglasses. The reel has big close-ups of the singer's face.
  • Waist up or full body: your outfit replaces the singer's black sweater and jeans. A costume works too.
  • Only you in the photo. With two people, the model may mix them.
  • No filters and no hats that hide the hair, unless you want the hat in the video.
  • Use your own photo, or a photo of someone who said yes.

Where did the Phone on the train trend start?

Musicians started it to promote their songs. The earliest clip we found is from 8 June 2026, when the Canadian artist Manafest stuck his phone to a subway train. In August it took off: the Punjabi singer @iiktaj taped his phone to a train at Jalandhar (13 August), and the Russian singer @anisiialen did it in a metro (21 August, about 53 million views).

On 26 August @olliemuhl (Ollie Muhl) did it on the New York 7 train: "Anyone seen a phone stuck to the train recently?". The caption became the trend's name, and his TikTok of it has 78.7 million plays. On 31 August @nikhilkochar80 posted the Delhi Metro "desi version", which passed 135 million views; on 5 September the Delhi Metro warned creators to stop.

In mid-September the trend reached Munich, Toronto, London, Istanbul, Berlin and Nigeria, and the live Training Season by Dua Lipa became its sound. On TikTok it also runs as the "phone taped on train window trend", and in New York as the "subway iPhone tape trend". On 3 October Ollie Muhl took it to Paris metro Line 6, with a new ending: the phone rides over the Seine to the lit Eiffel Tower. "Wait for the view" is the reel this template copies.

What happens in the phone on the train video, second by second?

Your video is the Paris reel by @olliemuhl, with you as the singer:

TimeWhat you do
0-5 sYou walk down the Line 6 platform at Bir-Hakeim at night and sing to the camera, close up.
5-9 sYou stick your phone on the outside of the metro window.
9-15 sNow the phone films you from the train: you sing and dance on the platform, hand on your heart.
15-22 sThe train pulls out. You run beside it, singing, until you drop out of the frame.
22-33 sThe view: the train leaves the station, crosses the Seine at night and heads straight for the lit Eiffel Tower.

The platform, the train, the camera moves, the view and the song come from the real reel. Only the singer changes, so it looks like real phone footage.

Why does it work? It looks like you just lost your phone, and then the phone gets the best seat in Paris.

How does MakeViral make it, and what does it cost?

Seedance 2.5 takes the first 22 seconds of the reel and your photo, and puts you in place of the singer in every shot: your face, your hair and your clothes, with no earphones. The moves, the cuts and the timing stay as in the reel. Then the reel's own view of the Eiffel Tower and its song go back on, so the whole 33 seconds play like the original. You write no prompt.

You pick the quality on the create page, and the exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. HD and Ultra HD cost more because the model is billed per second of the reel and of the result, and more for more pixels. The video waits in your Library when it is ready, usually in 6 to 10 minutes.

How do they tape the phone to the train, and how do they get it back?

That is the question in almost every comment, and the reels never show it. Most creators fix the phone to the outside of the window with packing tape or a suction phone mount; @iiktaj used packing tape at Jalandhar. Most clips are staged: the phone is taped on while the train stands, and taken off before the train moves. A friend inside the train films the chase, and the clips are cut together (viewers spotted the friend in the window reflection). Some creators say a friend took the phone off at the next station. The "trend gone wrong" clips show the other side: doors that slide over the phone and trap it.

Do not stick a real phone on a moving train. The Delhi Metro warned creators on 5 September 2026 that it can injure other passengers and damage phones, and that "necessary action shall be taken". With this template the phone never leaves your pocket: the reel already has the shots, and only the singer changes.

Which caption, song and hashtags should you post it with?

Your video comes with the reel's own song, the live Training Season by Dua Lipa, so it is ready to post. You can turn the song off on the result screen and add another sound when you post.

Captions that fit: "Wait for the view", "Anyone seen a phone stuck to the train recently?", "Anyone seen a phone taped to a train lately?", "There goes another phone", "My phone has a better life than me".

Hashtags: on 12 October 2026, #trainingseason had 104,189 TikTok videos and 1.9 billion views (the song, also used for other trends), #traintrend 1,794 videos and 27 million views, and #metrotrend 541 videos and 26.8 million views. Add #waitfortheview and #paris for the Paris version, and keep the platform's AI label on.

FAQ

Phone on the train trend questions

What is the phone on the train trend?
It is a 2026 reel trend on Instagram and TikTok, also called the Training Season train trend, the phone sticking trend or the phone taped to the train trend. You tape or stick your phone on the outside of a metro or train window, sing on the platform while it films you, then run after the train as it leaves with your phone. The most-liked version is Ollie Muhl's Paris reel, which ends with the Eiffel Tower view.
What song is used in the phone on the train trend?
Mostly the live "Training Season" by Dua Lipa (Live from the Royal Albert Hall). It is the song of Ollie Muhl's Paris reel and the main TikTok sound of the trend since mid-September 2026. The Delhi Metro version uses "Manma Emotion Jaage" from the film Dilwale. Your MakeViral video comes with the Paris reel's song.
Who started the phone on the train trend?
The earliest clip we found is by the Canadian artist Manafest, on 8 June 2026. It took off in August with @iiktaj in India (13 August), @anisiialen (21 August), Ollie Muhl on the New York 7 train (26 August) and @nikhilkochar80 on the Delhi Metro (31 August). Ollie Muhl's Paris reel followed on 3 October.
How do I make the phone on the train video without a real train?
Press "Create your own", add one clear photo of yourself and press Generate. The button shows the price first. You get a 33-second vertical video with the reel's song: you on the Paris platform, the run beside the train and the Eiffel Tower view. You write no prompt, and the video waits in your Library when it is ready.
Do I need to tape my phone to a real train?
No. The taping, the train, the run and the view are already in the reel. You add one photo, and the AI puts you in the singer's place in every shot. Your phone stays in your pocket, and no tape, suction mount or train ride is needed.
What is the Paris station in the reel?
Bir-Hakeim, on metro Line 6. Line 6 runs above ground there, and the train crosses the Seine on the Bir-Hakeim bridge toward Passy, with the Eiffel Tower right beside it. That is the view at the end of the reel.
Can I wear my own clothes in the video?
Yes. The video takes your clothes from your photo and drops the singer's black sweater, jeans and earphones. A waist-up or full-body photo works best. A costume works too: our example is an AI-made sultan in a turban and a kaftan.
Does it work for women?
Yes. The singer in the reel is a man, but the model takes the face, the hair and the clothes from your photo, whoever you are. The moves, the run and the view stay the same.
How long is the video, and does it have sound?
33 seconds, vertical 9:16, as an MP4 file: 22 seconds with you, then the reel's own 11-second view of the Eiffel Tower. It comes with the reel's song, and you can turn the song off on the result screen.
Is it safe to stick my phone on a train?
No. The Delhi Metro warned creators in September 2026 that it can injure other passengers and damage phones, and doors can trap the phone. This template gives you the same video without a real phone on a real train.
Does the phone on the train video cost credits?
Yes. Each video costs credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. Standard is the cheapest; HD and Ultra HD are sharper and cost more. If a video fails, the credits come back.
