7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our service and hold certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our service.
We use Google Analytics and DataFast to understand how visitors use the site and which visits lead to a purchase, and the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram and show them to people who may find them useful. These services can use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, the actions you take (for example a sign-up or a purchase), your IP address and your browser type. When you are signed in, we share a hashed (encrypted) copy of your email address and account ID with Meta so it can match your actions on the site, for example a sign-up or a purchase, to an ad. Meta processes this information under its own Privacy Policy. You can control the ads you see in your Meta ad preferences, opt out of interest-based ads at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu, or block these cookies in your browser settings.
8. Third-Party Services
Our service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any information.
9. AI Assistants, Connected Apps and the API
You can use MakeViral from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, from another app that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), or with an API key. When you do:
- What we receive. The photos you choose for a run (sent by the assistant, downloaded from a temporary link the assistant gives us, or added on a MakeViral upload page), the template, version and options picked, and any text you type into optional fields. When the assistant makes an image or a video from your own idea (MakeViral Create), we also receive the prompt it writes for you, the model and settings, and any photos, clips or sounds you give it for that. We do not receive your chat history.
- What we store. The photos and results are saved in your MakeViral account, the same as runs you start on the website. For each connected app we store its name, when you connected it and when it was last used. We store API keys and access tokens only as one-way hashes, never in readable form. Each run, image and video records whether an app or an API key started it.
- How we use it. To make the videos and photos you ask for, to show you the results, to charge and refund credits, to prevent abuse and to give support.
- Who else sees it. Your photos go to the AI service providers that make the result (section 4). The assistant you use (for example OpenAI or Anthropic) receives what our tools return: template and model details, prices, your credit balance, the status of your runs, images and videos, and links to your results. Their own privacy policies cover what they do with it.
- How long we keep it. Access tokens expire after one hour and refresh tokens after 180 days without use. Upload links work for one hour. Photos and results stay in your account until you delete them or your account.
- Your controls. Disconnect an app or delete an API key at any time on your Profile page, under Agents and API. Access stops at once.
Only use photos of yourself or of people who agreed. MakeViral templates that need a photo of a child are not offered in AI assistants.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. We take steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
