Which photo works best?

Use one sharp photo of yourself, face close and to the camera. The video keeps the witch costume and changes the face and the hair, so your clothes in the photo do not matter.

  • Head and shoulders or waist up, your face big and in focus, in good light.
  • No sunglasses and no glasses. The template shows the witch without glasses, so your eyes need to be clear in the photo.
  • Only you in the photo. With two people, the model may mix them.
  • No hat, no filter, no heavy shadow on the face. The witch hat comes from the reel.
  • Pet version: one photo of your cat or dog, face and body clear.
  • Use your own photo, or a photo of someone who said yes.

Where did the Witch on the metro trend start?

The joke builds on the phone on the train trend: since August 2026, creators tape a phone to a train window and run after the train. On 3 October @olliemuhl posted the most-liked version at the Bir-Hakeim station of the Paris metro, to the live "Training Season" by Dua Lipa.

On 19 October the Paris AI artist @ifonly.ai (If Only, 1.2 million followers) posted the Halloween version at the same station: a witch in a tall pointed hat tapes her phone to the train, then flies beside it on a broom, past the posters, and hits the wall at the end of the platform. The reel ends on a moonlit castle. The caption: "You should know iiiiiii (wait for it)". By 29 October it had 38,691 likes and 505 comments, to the same live Training Season.

It also borrows from the My Ride Is Here broom trend, where a witch flies beside a car window. People search for it as a witch riding broom video, a flying witch video or a Halloween flying witch video. Google suggests "witch flying on broom video tiktok", and TikTok's page for those words shows flying broom tutorials, the top one with 196,300 views (23 October).

  1. @olliemuhl tapes his phone to a New York 7 train: "Anyone seen a phone stuck to the train recently?". The phone on the train trend takes off. Instagram

  2. @rora_dd puts a witch on a flying broom beside a car window: "My ride is here!". The broom trend gets its name. TikTok

  3. @olliemuhl posts the Paris version at Bir-Hakeim on metro Line 6, "Wait for the view", to the live Training Season. Instagram

Video prompt

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same metro station platform, the same metro train that stands and then pulls out, the same passengers, benches, lights, camera moves, cut and timing. The ONLY change: the witch's face and hair are now those of the person in [Image 1]. [Image 1] is the sole reference for the witch's face and hair; [Video 1] is for the costume, the moves, the flight and the camera only. The witch = the person in [Image 1], in EVERY frame, also in profile and in the fast flight: copy the exact face from [Image 1]: face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache or freckles exactly as in the photo. The same real person in every frame, so their friends instantly recognize them. Never morph, never drift back to the original woman's face: not her face shape, her eyes, her nose or her lips. Even when [Image 1] shows long dark hair like hers, the face is only the face of [Image 1]. NO long dark brown hair unless [Image 1] shows it. The costume is the Halloween joke and stays exactly as in the video, never the clothes from [Image 1]: the tall black pointed witch hat with a wide brim, the long black velvet and lace gown with puffed velvet sleeves, the black heeled boots and the wooden broom. NO sunglasses and NO glasses of any kind in any frame, even if [Image 1] shows glasses: the eyes are always bare and clearly visible. Shot 1 [0-3.5 s]: one handheld take on the platform: the witch stands at the stopped metro train, presses a phone flat on the outside of a train window and tapes it down with a roll of white tape. Shot 2 [3.5-15 s]: hard cut, the view of the taped phone from the train as it pulls out: the witch stands on the platform with the broom, sits on it and lifts off, then flies beside the train along the platform, side-on, both hands on the broom, past the posters and the benches, glancing at the camera. At about 14.3 s she hits the wall at the end of the platform, tumbles off the broom, unhurt, and drops out of the frame. The witch and the broom move as one connected unit. The posters on the platform walls are plain generic posters with no brand names, no logos and no readable words. The passengers are anonymous background people. Only replace the witch's face and hair; the station, the train, the costume, the flight path and the camera stay completely unchanged. Keep everything else the same. Anatomy rules: one head only, on the witch's shoulders. Two arms and two legs. Exactly one witch. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music.

Video prompt

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same metro station platform, filmed from a phone fixed on the window of a metro train that pulls out, the same posters, benches, lights, camera move and timing, one continuous take. The ONLY change: the witch on the broom is now the pet in [Image 1], whole body, in a little witch costume. [Image 1] is the sole reference for the rider; [Video 1] is for the flight and the camera only. The rider = the pet in [Image 1], whole body, in every frame: the same species and breed, head shape, muzzle, eyes, eye color, ears, fur colors, fur length, markings and body shape as in [Image 1], with the natural body volume and proportions of that animal: never flattened, squashed, stretched or merged with anything, so its owner instantly recognizes it. If [Image 1] shows a dog or another animal, that animal rides the broom the same way. The woman from the video never appears: no human body, no human face, no human hands, no gown. The pet wears only a small tall black pointed witch hat between its ears and a short black velvet cape. NO sunglasses and NO glasses. The moves, matching the reference second by second: 0-1.5 s: the pet stands on the platform beside the wooden broom, hops onto it, and the broom lifts off as the train starts. 1.5-10.7 s: it flies beside the train along the platform, side-on, sitting on the broom with its front paws on the handle, past the posters and the benches, looking at the camera now and then. 10.7-11.4 s: it bumps into the wall at the end of the platform, tumbles off the broom, unhurt, and drops out of the frame. The pet and the broom move as one connected unit. The posters on the platform walls are plain generic posters with no brand names, no logos and no readable words. Only replace the rider; the station, the train, the flight path and the camera stay completely unchanged. Keep everything else the same. Anatomy rules: one head, one tail, four legs, no extra paws, no human hands. Exactly one animal and no people on the broom. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music.

What happens in the witch flying on broom video, second by second?

Your video is the @ifonly.ai reel from its taping shot on, with you as the witch:

TimeWhat happens
0-3.5 sOn the metro platform, you tape your phone to the outside of a train window with a roll of tape.
3.5-5 sCut to the view of the taped phone: you sit on your broom and lift off as the train pulls out.
5-14 sYou fly beside the train along the platform, past the posters and the benches.
14-15 sYou hit the wall at the end of the platform and tumble off the broom.
15-22 sThe reel's own ending: the train leaves the station, and the view turns into a moonlit castle.

The station, the train, the camera, the costume and the song come from the reel. Your face and your hair change. The witch flies, so nobody will ask if the witch flying on broom is real: it is a Halloween AI video, made for fun.

The Human version keeps the costume on purpose: the witch costume is the Halloween joke, and it works for men too. Top-quality AI video models, including Seedance 2.5, copy the reel shot by shot. You write no prompt.

How does it relate to the phone on the train trend and the broom trend?

It is the Halloween meeting of two October 2026 trends. From the phone on the train trend it takes the taped phone, the Bir-Hakeim station, the live Training Season and the "wait for it" ending. From the My Ride Is Here broom trend it takes the witch on a flying broom beside a moving vehicle. In the broom trend you fly beside a car; here you fly beside a metro train, and the crash at the end of the platform is the punchline.

Want a different witch? The AI Halloween costume template puts you in a costume of your choice.

What goes wrong, and how do you fix it?

ProblemFix
The face looks like the woman in the reelUse a closer, sharper photo with your face big, then run it again. This happens most with long dark hair like hers.
The face is soft in the fast flightThe flight is blurry in the reel too. A sharper photo helps.
Glasses appearUse a photo without glasses and run it again.
Your pet looks like another animalUse a photo where the pet's face and fur are clear, side-on or front.
The model refuses your photoSome photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo.

Every run is a new take, so results differ a little. If one take is not right, run it again.

FAQ

Witch on the metro trend questions

What is the witch flying on broom video trend?
It is a Halloween 2026 reel: a witch tapes her phone to a Paris metro window, the train leaves, and the phone films her as she flies beside it on a broom, then crashes into the wall at the end of the platform. It is the witch twist of the phone on the train trend, also called the Halloween phone on train trend or the witch metro trend.
Who made the original witch flying next to the train video?
The Paris AI artist @ifonly.ai posted it on Instagram on 19 October 2026. By 29 October it had 38,691 likes and 505 comments. Instagram labels it AI content.
What song is in the witch flying video?
"Training Season" by Dua Lipa, the live version from the Royal Albert Hall: the same sound as the Paris phone on the train reel. The line "You should know I need someone to hold me close" is from it. Your video comes with this song, and you can turn it off on the result screen.
Is the witch flying on broom real?
No. The original is an AI video, and Instagram labels it AI content. Nobody flew through a metro station, and nobody needs to tape a real phone to a real train. Searches like "witch flying caught on camera", "witch flying on a broomstick caught on camera" or "flying witch footage" find clips like this one, and every such witch on broomstick video is AI or an edit.
How do I make the witch flying on broom video with my photo?
Press "Create your own", add one clear photo of yourself and press Generate. The button shows the price first. You get a vertical video of about 22 seconds with the reel's song: you tape the phone, fly beside the train, crash, then the reel's moonlit castle. The video waits in My videos when it is ready.
Do I need a witch costume or glasses?
No costume: the video keeps the witch's tall pointed hat and black velvet and lace gown, and changes your face and hair. No glasses either: our version shows the witch without sunglasses or glasses, so use a photo without them.
Can men or couples make it?
Men can: the face and the hair come from your photo, and the witch costume stays, which makes the joke even better. It is a one-person template, so use a photo with only you in it.
Can my cat or dog be the flying witch?
Yes. Pick the Pet version and add one photo of your pet. Your pet takes off on the broom in a little witch hat and a black cape, flies beside the train and tumbles off at the end, then the reel's ending plays. A black cat on a broom is the classic, but any cat or dog works.
Is there a flying broom AI or flying witch AI app for this?
This template is the flying broom AI tool for the metro reel: it runs in your browser on MakeViral, with no editing. For the car version, use the My Ride Is Here broom template.
What is the castle at the end?
It is the ending of the original reel: after the crash, the train leaves the station and the view turns into a castle under a full moon, the "wait for it" moment of the caption. Your video keeps that ending as it is.
Where does the witch flying on broom meme come from?
Both the witch flying on broom origin and the witch riding broom origin go back to old European folklore, and the witch on broom meme has been a Halloween classic for years. The 2026 wave started with CapCut broom templates in September (the My Ride Is Here trend) and reached the metro with the @ifonly.ai reel in October.
Is it a witch on a train or a witch on the subway?
It is a witch on a train of the Paris metro, at the Bir-Hakeim station on Line 6. People also call it the witch subway trend. The witch flies outside the train, along the platform.
How long is the video, and does it cost credits?
About 22 seconds for the Human version and about 18 for the Pet version, vertical 9:16, as an MP4 file with the reel's song. Each video costs credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. If a video fails, the credits come back.
