Genjutsu is the video swap tool of Higgsfield, the AI creative platform. Higgsfield announced it on its blog on August 31, 2026. In October 2026 it turned into a TikTok trend under #higgsfieldgenjutsu.
It has two modes. In Higgsfield's own words, Motion Transfer "keeps the motion, camera and timing while rebuilding the scene from your references". Object Swap "changes a selected character, outfit, product, location or object while preserving the rest of the original shot".
What we read in the generator on October 21, 2026:
| Setting | Genjutsu | Genjutsu Lite |
|---|---|---|
| Reference video | 4 to 30 seconds | 4 to 15 seconds |
| Reference images | Up to 30 | Up to 10 |
| Quality | 480p, 720p, 1080p | 720p, 1080p |
| Prompt | Optional | Optional |
Higgsfield's blog adds 30+ presets, so a run can work with no prompt at all. Its FAQ says the result is yours to publish, subject to its Terms of Use. We found nothing on any Genjutsu page about the sound of the result, or about a top number of people.
Many of the big posts in the trend put famous people into clips, or people into film scenes. We do not suggest that on either tool. Put yourself, friends who agreed, or your pet into clips you may use.
Both do the same core job: a clip goes in, the moves and the camera stay, and the people, a pet or an object change. The difference is around that job.
Higgsfield is a large creative platform, and Genjutsu is one tool in it, with more settings: 1080p, up to 30 reference images, presets, a Lite mode and a community Motion Library. You pay for it with a monthly or yearly plan.
MakeViral is made for the swap itself. The swap page asks what you swap (you, 2 people, your pet or an object), then for the clip and the photo. A tested prompt does the rest. The result is as long as your clip, at 720p, and it keeps the clip's own sound. You can pay once, from $9.99, with no subscription.
So the split is simple. Pick Genjutsu for 1080p and the biggest set of controls. Pick MakeViral for a simple swap, the clip's own sound, no subscription, and the viral swap trends ready in one tap. The full guide is on the AI video swap page.
Read on higgsfield.ai/pricing on October 21, 2026, with the Monthly toggle and then the Annual toggle. Prices exclude VAT and local taxes.
| Higgsfield plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Credits a month | Genjutsu |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $15 | $15 a month | 200 | No free generations listed |
| Plus | $49 | $39 a month | 1,000 | 720p, 2 free generations (3 annual) |
| Ultra, 3,000 credits | $129 | $99 a month | 3,000 | 720p, 2 free generations (3 annual) |
| Ultra, 6,000 credits | $250 | Not read | 6,000 | 720p, 2 free generations |
| Ultra, 9,000 credits | $375 | Not read | 9,000 | 720p, 2 free generations |
| Team | $79 a seat | $65 a seat a month | 1,000 a seat | All features and models |
The pricing page does not list Genjutsu in its per-model credit table, and the generator shows no credit number when you are logged out. The FAQ says "each run shows its credit cost before you generate". The only Genjutsu credit prices we found are on Higgsfield's Genjutsu blog post, marked "pricing verified September 2026":
| Genjutsu clip | Credits | Higgsfield's price |
|---|---|---|
| 15 seconds, 480p | 40 | about $2.00 |
| 15 seconds, 720p | 104 | about $5.20 |
| 15 seconds, 1080p | 144 | about $7.20 |
The blog says Motion Transfer and Object Swap cost the same, "priced by length and resolution". It gives no price for 10 seconds. If the price grows in a straight line with length, 10 seconds at 720p would be about 69 credits. That is our arithmetic, not a Higgsfield number.
For developers, the Genjutsu API page lists $0.318, $0.681 and $1.632 per second of input video at 480p, 720p and 1080p, before discounts. On October 21 it showed a 50% off banner.
You can start with one $9.99 pack of 100 credits, with no subscription. It covers one 5-second swap at 720p, or one 10-second swap at 480p. Higgsfield's smallest paid plan is $15 a month, and Starter lists no free Genjutsu generations.
A swap bills the seconds of your clip plus the seconds of the result. The result is as long as the clip, so a 10-second clip bills 20 seconds. The photos add nothing. These numbers come from the same code that prices the Generate button.
| Clip | 480p | 720p | 720p on the $49.99 plan | 720p on the $199.99 plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 s | 34 credits | 76 credits | about $5.43 | about $5.07 |
| 10 s | 68 credits | 152 credits | about $10.85 | about $10.13 |
| 15 s | 103 credits | 228 credits | about $16.28 | about $15.20 |
| 30 s | 205 credits | 456 credits | about $32.56 | about $30.40 |
A credit is about $0.071 on the $49.99 plan for 700 credits, and about $0.067 on the $199.99 plan for 3,000. On a plan, Higgsfield's blog prices per clip are lower: both are in the side-by-side table.
Two ways to spend less here: trim the clip before you upload it, and test at 480p first. Plans are on the pricing page.
Five real gaps in MakeViral, so you do not find them after you pay.
1080p. Genjutsu and Genjutsu Lite both offer 1080p. A MakeViral swap is 480p or 720p.
More references. Up to 30 reference images for characters, products and wardrobe. A MakeViral swap takes up to 9 photos.
Presets and a community library. 30+ presets, so a run can work with no prompt, and a Motion Library of community clips you can recreate. MakeViral has four ready swaps and its own trend templates.
A whole platform. Higgsfield also has image Face Swap and Character Swap tools, Cinema Studio, Lipsync Studio, many video models and an API. If you already pay for Higgsfield, Genjutsu is part of what you have.
Price per clip on a plan. From Higgsfield's own blog numbers, a Genjutsu clip costs about a third of ours at the same length and resolution.
What we could not check: the sound of a Genjutsu result, the top number of people it can swap, and whether the result is always as long as the clip. Higgsfield does not state these on its Genjutsu pages.
Three steps, the same ones whether you come from Genjutsu or not.
Prefer a viral trend with the clip already inside? Try the Storm AI trend, the Closed on Sunday AI trend or the Crazy Frog AI trend. You add only photos.
The rules are the same as everywhere: use clips you have the right to use, never put a real person's face in a video without their consent, and no photos of a child without the parent. The prompt check blocks sexual content, and the terms forbid misleading or deceptive content. Tips for a good result are on the AI video swap page.
If you already pay for a Higgsfield plan, Genjutsu is part of what you have, and it is worth a try for 1080p and its large set of controls. Plus and Ultra even include a couple of free Genjutsu generations a month.
Two cautions. The pricing page does not list Genjutsu's credit cost, and the only numbers we found are on a blog post from September. Check the cost the generator shows before you run a long clip. And nothing on the Genjutsu pages says what happens to the sound, so test one short clip first if the audio matters.
If you do not want a monthly plan, MakeViral is the simpler buy: $9.99 once, the clip's own sound back by default, and the viral swap trends in one tap. Start on the swap page, read the AI video swap guide, or browse the trend templates. For more ideas, read how to go viral on TikTok.
Add a clip and a photo. AI swaps in the face, hair, body and clothes, keeps every move, and puts the clip's own sound back. Two people, pets and objects too.
