Gömleği cekete dönüşen adam ("the man whose shirt turns into a jacket") is a viral Turkish wedding clip: a man in a blue plaid shirt dances to the davul and zurna at night, and his shirt seems to become a jacket. The AI trend puts someone else in his place. You need one photo, or two with the spoon player.

The video is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library.

Which photo works best?

Photo 1 is the dancer in the blue plaid shirt. In Two people, photo 2 is the spoon player: the man in the grey shirt who shouts and clicks the wooden spoons right beside the dancer's face.

  • A sharp photo of the face, turned to the camera, in good light, with no sunglasses. Head and shoulders is enough: the faces are big in the first seven seconds.
  • Your clothes do not matter. The dancer always wears the blue plaid shirt, because that shirt is the joke. With one photo, we first make a portrait of you in that shirt.
  • The hair comes from your photo, and a headscarf stays.
  • One person per photo, with no filters.
  • Use yourself, or adults who said yes: your dad, your uncle, your grandma. Never a celebrity, a footballer or a stranger.

Where did the Shirt-to-Jacket Dance trend start?

The clip is a real wedding video that has gone around Turkish social media for years. At night, in front of an apartment building, a man in a blue plaid shirt dances to the davul and zurna while a guest clicks wooden spoons beside his face. A few seconds in, his shirt seems to turn into a jacket: an optical illusion of the camera angle and the light, as Onedio explains it. On TikTok, @mesut0247 posted it on 18 June 2023 as "5 inci saniyeden sonra gömlek ceket oluyor" ("after the fifth second the shirt becomes a jacket"), and the tag #gömlekceketoluyor dates from May 2023. Reposts kept it alive, among them one by @6kingsam6 on 18 July 2026 with 1.1 million views.

In mid-September 2026 the AI versions took over. An AI edit that put a popular Turkish streamer into the dance passed 3.6 million views; others used footballers, politicians, old Yeşilçam film characters and, as Onedio noted, a giant cockroach. On 19 September @gkhngykc posted a version with his own face, made with Higgsfield's Genjutsu, and two days later a how-to video with his prompt that reached 1 million views. This template copies his reel.

[Video 1] is a motion guide only. Copy its camera moves, timing and actions. Do NOT copy the people in [Video 1]: not their faces, hair, skin tone or age. Use [Image 1] as the exact identity of the man in the blue plaid shirt; keep his face, hair, beard, age and features unchanged throughout. Recreate the same 15 s vertical nighttime Turkish courtyard celebration as a single handheld smartphone shot: warm yellow lighting, red chairs, guests, residential building and a davul drummer entering from the right foreground. The dancer starts calmly, then gradually becomes more energetic with wide steps, one hand often behind his back, raised arm gestures, deep crouches/lunges close to the ground, then rises and continues dancing. The camera naturally walks backward from a medium shot to full body with slight shake, imperfect framing and realistic motion blur. No cuts, cinematic moves, morphing, sliding feet, extra limbs or identity changes; keep it looking like a real spontaneous viral phone video. The dancer is the person in [Image 1], man or woman, young or old, with the face, hair and skin tone from [Image 1] in every frame, in a loose blue plaid shirt and dark trousers, with no beard unless [Image 1] shows one. The man in the grey shirt who clicks two wooden spoons beside the dancer's face, the other guests and the drummer are new adult people, not the ones in [Video 1]. Use all reference images ONLY as facial identity and hair references. IMPORTANT: DO NOT transfer clothing, body shape, accessories, pose, background, color palette, or any other visual characteristics from the reference images. image 1 = FACE AND HAIR IDENTITY ONLY for the main dancing man. image 2 = FACE AND HAIR IDENTITY ONLY for the man in the grey shirt who holds two wooden spoons, leans in beside the camera, shouts and clicks the spoons at the dancer's face. STRICT FACE AND HAIR REPLACEMENT: Change ONLY the facial identity and the hair of these 2 assigned people. Preserve the ORIGINAL VIDEO exactly: * exact clothing and wardrobe * exact shirt, jacket, pants and shoes * exact body and body proportions * exact hands and skin outside the face * exact accessories * exact dance movements * exact gestures and poses * exact facial performance and expressions * exact camera movement * exact framing * exact lighting * exact environment * exact background * exact drum and instruments * exact choreography * exact timing CRITICAL: The reference images are FACE AND HAIR IDENTITY REFERENCES ONLY. IGNORE ALL clothing, body, accessories, pose and background information from image 1 and image 2. Especially for image 1: DO NOT change the main dancing man's original outfit in any way. DO NOT copy any clothing from image 1. Keep his original clothing from the source video 100% unchanged. Each face must stay assigned to the correct person throughout the entire video. Match the original head angle, perspective, expression, eye direction, mouth movement, lighting, shadows and motion blur. Do not regenerate the people. Do not restyle them. Do not swap bodies. Do not add or remove people. Do not alter any non-face, non-hair element. Perform a seamless, photorealistic FACE AND HAIR SWAP ONLY with stable identity and no flickering, morphing, distortion or identity drift. The dancer has the face, skin tone, age and hair of the person in image 1 in every shot, from the first medium shot to the wide shots where he drops into a deep lunge, with a beard only if image 1 shows one. The man with the wooden spoons has the face, skin tone, age and hair of the person in image 2 in every shot, also in the big close-up where he shouts beside the camera. He always wears the grey shirt from the video, never the clothes from image 2, and he never smiles at the camera: he copies the shouting face of the man in the video. If an image shows a headscarf, that person wears the headscarf. Do not mix the two faces. The other guests and the drummer keep their own faces from the video.

How many credits does it cost?

You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the video, made in one step from your photos and the trend clip, charged once. One video is 50 credits, so the smallest one-time pack that covers it is $9.99 for 100 credits, with no subscription. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video.

What happens in the clip, second by second?

Your video follows the 15 seconds of @gkhngykc's reel, one handheld take at a night wedding in front of an apartment building:

SecondsWhat happens
0 to 3Medium shot. The dancer stands in the blue plaid shirt with the wooden spoons in his hands and looks around.
3 to 4He turns and reaches out to the guests.
4 to 7A man in a grey shirt leans in right beside the camera, shouts and clicks two wooden spoons at the dancer's face. A guest behind throws his arms up.
7 to 11The dancer takes wide steps with one hand behind his back, raises an arm and drops into a deep lunge close to the ground. This is where the shirt starts to look like a jacket.
11 to 15A guest dances with him, the spoons keep clicking, and the drummer walks in from the right with the davul.

Why these models? They are the trend's own tools. @gkhngykc made the reel with Genjutsu, and Best and Two people use it with his prompt. In Two people the spoon player's face is a big close-up, and in our earlier tests on another reel Genjutsu was the model that swapped two big faces. Many other how-to videos for this trend use Seedance in CapCut's Dreamina or in Magnific; Standard uses Seedance 2.0 Mini, the cheaper model of that family, with the prompt those videos share.

Why does the shirt turn into a jacket?

Nobody changes clothes. Onedio, which collected the AI versions on 25 September 2026, calls it an optical illusion: the camera angle and the light make the loose plaid shirt look like a jacket a few seconds after he starts to dance. Viewers replay the clip to catch the moment, and the 2023 caption that spread it says it happens "after the fifth second".

The AI versions keep the joke. Whoever dances, a footballer, a politician or a creator, the shirt still turns into a jacket. That is why the blue plaid shirt always stays in your video, even when your photo shows other clothes. @gkhngykc gave the same advice in his how-to: put the uncle's shirt on yourself first, so nobody says the AI changed the jacket. With one photo, MakeViral does that step for you.

Where do the spoons come from? In the clip, a guest clicks two wooden spoons like castanets. That is the sound of the spoon dance, kaşık oyunu, which the Turkish dance historian Metin And called "the most popular dance in Central Anatolia" in 1976. The clip itself is not a stage show, though: it is a man dancing at a wedding, with a guest who joins in with the spoons.

Which sound and hashtags should you post it with?

Your video comes with the sound of the reel it copies, cut to the same 15 seconds: the wedding's davul and zurna and the guests, with the line many captions quote, "Bilsen uzaklarda kim ağlıyor". You can turn it off on the result screen and keep a silent copy. The sound belongs to its owners, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. Check the music rules before you use the clip in an ad or a paid post.

Hashtags: #gömlekceketoluyor is the meme's own tag, from May 2023 (22 videos and 6.6 million views on 12 October 2026). #bilsenuzaklarda had 153 videos and 1.5 million views, and #bilsenuzaklardakimlerağlıyor 61 videos. AI creators add #ceket and #dayı. Keep the platform's AI label on.

Caption ideas: "5. saniyeden sonra gömlek ceket oluyor", "Bu adam mucidi bunun", "My dad at every wedding", or tag the uncle who always gets up first when the davul starts.

FAQ

Shirt-to-Jacket Dance trend questions

What is the "gömleği cekete dönüşen adam" video?
It is a Turkish wedding clip that has gone around social media since at least 2023. A man in a blue plaid shirt dances to the davul and zurna at night, a guest clicks wooden spoons beside him, and a few seconds in his shirt seems to turn into a jacket. In September 2026 it became an AI trend: people put someone else on the dancer.
Why does the man's shirt turn into a jacket?
It does not. Onedio explains it as an optical illusion of the camera angle and the light: the loose plaid shirt looks like a jacket a few seconds after he starts to dance. The 2023 caption that spread the clip says it happens "after the fifth second".
How do I make the gömleği cekete dönüşen dayı video with AI?
Press "Create your own", pick You dance (one photo) or Two people (two photos), add the photos and press Generate. The button shows the price first. You get a 15-second vertical video with the wedding sound, and you write no prompt. The video waits in your Library when it is ready.
What is the second photo for?
In Two people, photo 2 replaces the spoon player: the man in the grey shirt who leans in beside the camera, shouts and clicks two wooden spoons at the dancer's face. Photo 1 is always the dancer. Tag the friend who always hypes you up.
Can I put my dad, my mom or my grandma in it?
Yes, with their OK. Use a sharp photo of the face. The dancer always wears the blue plaid shirt from the clip, so a grandma or a mom dances in it too; the hair, or a headscarf, comes from the photo.
Is this the Turkish spoon dance (kaşık oyunu)?
Not quite. The clip shows a man dancing to the davul and zurna at a wedding, while a guest clicks two wooden spoons like castanets. Clicking wooden spoons is the sound of kaşık oyunu, the spoon dance of Central Anatolia, which is why some people call this the spoon dance trend.
Which song or sound is in the video?
The sound of the wedding clip itself: the davul and zurna, the guests, and the line many captions quote, "Bilsen uzaklarda kim ağlıyor". Your video comes with the same 15 seconds, and you can turn the sound off on the result screen.
What is the difference between Standard and Best?
Standard (Seedance 2.0 Mini) makes a new 720p clip that follows the reel's dance, camera and timing, at the lowest price. Best (Higgsfield Genjutsu) puts your face into the reel itself, shot by shot, so the guests, the spoons and the drummer stay exactly as in the reel; the clip is 480p and costs more. Both first make a portrait of you in the plaid shirt.
Is the real man from the wedding in my video?
No. Your video copies @gkhngykc's AI version, in which the creator put his own face on the dancer, and your photo takes that place. His AI version also changed the spoon player and the guests near the dancer, so they look different from the real wedding clip.
Can I put a footballer or a celebrity on the dancer?
Do not. Many viral versions use famous faces, but a fake video of a real person can break platform rules and that person's rights. Use yourself, or adults who agreed to be in it.
Can my cat or dog do the dance?
This template is made for people: we found no AI pet version of this trend by 12 October 2026. For pets, try the [AI dancing pet video](/templates/ai-dancing-dog-video).
How long is the video and what format is it?
15 seconds, as a vertical 9:16 MP4: 720p with Standard, 480p with Best and Two people. It comes with the wedding sound, which you can turn off.
