ATM Glitch AI Trend: The Money Explosion on CCTV, Starring You

A black-and-white security camera in an ATM booth at night: you take your cash, the machine bursts, a storm of bills knocks you back, and you end up sitting on a floor of money, laughing up at the camera. Or put your pet at the ATM. It is an AI video, not a real glitch.

The ATM glitch trend is a fake security camera clip: an ATM money glitch makes the machine shoot out cash nonstop and buries the person at the ATM in bills. From one photo, MakeViral puts you into the viral ATM glitch AI reel, shot for shot, or your pet in the Pet version.

Which photo works best?

Human takes one photo of yourself. Pet takes one photo of your pet.

  • Your photo: the face big, sharp and turned to the camera, in good light. From the waist up is best. The security camera films from high above and shows the face small, so a clear face matters more than anything else. No sunglasses, mask or hat over the face.
  • Your clothes come from the photo. Want the fur coat look? Use a photo in a big coat.
  • Your pet photo: the whole pet in view, its face sharp, in good light. A cat or a dog works best.
  • Use your own photo, or one of a friend who said yes.

Where did the ATM Glitch trend start?

The clip that started it went up on Instagram on 6 October 2026 (5 October in the US), posted by @ehustlr with @aicreatedthis_. It looks like grainy black-and-white footage from the camera in the corner of an ATM booth: a woman in a fur coat and sunglasses takes her cash, the machine suddenly shoots out a nonstop stream of bills, the blast knocks her down, and she ends sitting in a carpet of money. The text above it read "The only glitch I'm praying for this year", and the 5,436 comments are mostly one word: "Mine".

For ten days it spread as reposts with that line and its twins, "the only glitch I want" and "the only glitch we need", from the US to Nigeria, South Africa, Pakistan and India. On 17 October Russian-speaking AI creators turned it into a one-photo template they call "Банкомат" ("ATM"), and @prostoanastasiya_ posted her remake the same day: the same booth and the same burst with a new woman in glasses. It reached 813,546 likes in three days, with comments like "The problem I want" and "Where is this ATM?" in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Hindi. By 19 October a cat stood at the ATM too.

The idea is older than the trend. AI clips of ATMs that "glitch" and spray money have gone around since 2025, and some were passed off as real: in late 2025, fact-checkers in South Africa had to debunk fake ATM glitch CCTV clips. This one won because it does not pretend. Everybody knows it is a wish, and the comments play along.

  2. Big meme pages repost it as "the only glitch I want": @laughtercolours gets 11,376 likes. Instagram

Video prompt

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: grainy black-and-white security camera footage from a fixed camera high in the corner of a small ATM booth at night, a grey steel ATM on the right wall, a dark glass door on the left, a bare floor, with the same wide angle, framing and timing, one continuous shot with no cuts; the camera never moves. The ONLY change: the woman with long dark hair, glasses and a long fur coat at the ATM is now the person in [Image 1]. The ATM, the booth, the cash, the light and the camera stay exactly as in [Video 1]. The person at the ATM = the person in [Image 1], in EVERY frame: copy the exact face from [Image 1] (the face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles) exactly as in the photo, in black and white like the rest of the footage. They wear the clothes from [Image 1]. The same real person from the first frame to the last, so their friends instantly recognize them, also inside the storm of flying cash, when they sit on the floor and when they look up at the camera at the end. Never morph, never drift back to the original woman's face. NO glasses of any kind unless [Image 1] shows glasses. No long dark hair and no fur coat unless [Image 1] shows them. The moves, matching the reference second by second: 0-0.6 s: the person stands at the ATM, half turned away from the camera, and takes a few bills from the cash slot. 0.6-1.2 s: a huge burst of banknotes explodes out of the cash slot, hits them and knocks them back toward the camera. 1.2-4.5 s: a thick, endless stream of bills keeps pouring out of the slot across the frame, a blur of flying cash that almost hides the person, and the floor fills with a carpet of banknotes. 4.5-6.5 s: the stream thins; the person sits on the cash-covered floor in front of the ATM with both arms full of bills, while bills still spill from the slot. 6.5-8 s: they hold a fan of bills up to the face, laugh, tip the head back and look up at the security camera with a big happy grin, the face clearly visible. Anatomy rules: one head only, on the person's own shoulders; two arms, five fingers on each hand. Exactly one person in the booth; no other people. Plain banknotes with no readable text. No bank name or logo on the ATM, no readable screen, no timestamp or camera overlay, no text, no captions, no logos, no watermark.

It stays an animal: no human body, no human hands, no clothes, no fur coat, no glasses. Never morph, never drift back to the woman. The moves, matching the reference second by second: 0-0.6 s: the pet stands up on its hind legs at the ATM, front paws on the ledge under the cash slot, and looks at the slot. 0.6-1.2 s: a huge burst of banknotes explodes out of the cash slot, hits the pet and knocks it back toward the camera. 1.2-4.5 s: a thick, endless stream of bills keeps pouring out of the slot across the frame, a blur of flying cash that almost hides the pet, and the floor fills with a carpet of banknotes. 4.5-6.5 s: the stream thins; the pet sits on the cash-covered floor in front of the ATM, bills on its head and back and between its front paws, while bills still spill from the slot. 6.5-8 s: the pet holds one bill in its mouth and looks up at the security camera, happy and proud, its own face clearly visible. How many credits does it cost?

You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the video, made in one step from your photos and the trend clip, charged once. One video is 122 credits, so the smallest one-time pack that covers it is $14.99 for 150 credits, with no subscription. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video.

The video is vertical 9:16, 8 seconds, at 720p, ready for Reels and TikTok, with the reel's own sound put back on after the run.

Human or Pet, Best or Standard: which one?

VersionPhotoWhat you get
Human, Best1 of youThe real reel with you in the woman's place, shot for shot. The default.
Human, Standard1 of youA new clip that follows the reel's camera, timing and cash burst, for far fewer credits and faster. The face can look less like you, because the camera is high and the face is small.
Pet1 of your petYour pet stands up at the ATM, the cash bursts out, and it ends sitting in the pile with a bill in its mouth.

The cat ATM money clips came out a few days after the first reel, so the Pet version is the newest part of the ATM money trend. Every version is 8 seconds with the same sound. The price of each one shows on its Generate button.

What do people call the ATM glitch trend?

The trend has no single name yet. In English most people call it the ATM glitch or the ATM money glitch, after the line on the first clip, "The only glitch I'm praying for this year". Others search for it as the ATM trend or the ATM trend meme, the ATM money AI clip or the ATM money explosion, and some call it a money glitch or money rain AI, after the bills that rain down in the booth. Tags with it: #atmglitch, #moneyglitch, #moneyrain and #банкомат. It is also spelled "ATM glich".

In Russian, where the AI template wave started, it is the "Банкомат" template: people search шаблон банкомат, деньги из банкомата нейросеть and банкомат нейросеть. In Portuguese it is the trend do caixa eletrônico, and people search caixa eletrônico saindo dinheiro. In Spanish it is the trend cajero automatico, or cajero tirando dinero. Hindi and Urdu creators call it atm se paise ki barish, the money rain from the ATM, or the ATM money wali AI video, and in Turkish it is atm den para fışkırdı, money gushed out of the ATM.

It is not the infinite money glitch of 2024. That one was not a video at all: it was a bank fraud trend that got real people in trouble. This one is a wish on camera, made with AI.

What goes wrong, and how do you fix it?

FAQ

ATM Glitch trend questions

What is the ATM glitch trend?
A fake black-and-white security camera clip made with AI: an ATM starts shooting out cash nonstop, the burst knocks the person at the machine back, and they end sitting in a floor of bills. It started on Instagram on 6 October 2026 with the line "The only glitch I'm praying for this year", and a remake by @prostoanastasiya_ got 813,546 likes in three days.
How do I make the ATM glitch AI video?
Press "Create your own", add one clear photo of yourself and press Generate. The button shows the price first. You get a vertical 8-second ATM AI video with the reel's sound. It can take 5 to 15 minutes, and you write no prompt.
Can I make the ATM trend with my cat or dog?
Yes. Pick Pet and add one photo of your pet. Your pet stands up at the ATM, the cash bursts out, and it ends sitting in the pile of bills with one in its mouth. It is the cat ATM money version of the trend, and it works for dogs too.
Is the ATM glitch real?
No. It is an AI video, and no real ATM was filmed. Fake ATM glitch clips have been passed off as real before, so say it is AI when you post it. And never try to get extra money out of an ATM or a bank for real: that is fraud.
Which AI model makes the video?
Top-quality AI video models, including Seedance 2.5, for Best and Pet. The model takes the original reel and your photo and swaps you into the clip, a character swap that keeps the booth, the burst and the camera. Standard uses a lighter model that rebuilds the clip from the reel's moves. The reel's own sound goes back on after the run. If a model refuses a photo, MakeViral tries a backup model.
What is the prompt for the ATM money AI trend?
No creator shared one. The trend runs as one-photo templates on AI bots, and they hide the prompt; the creators send their how-to in private messages. We wrote our own prompt in the same style as our other reel copies, second by second along the viral reel, so you write no prompt yourself.
Is there an ATM CapCut template?
Creators share the ATM money trend as CapCut and bot templates, and some look for a money rain trend CapCut version, but you need none of them here, and no ATM glitch tutorial either. MakeViral runs in the browser on your phone or computer: add a photo and it makes the whole ATM glitch AI clip, ready to post on Instagram or TikTok.
How long is the video, and does it have sound?
8 seconds, vertical 9:16, at 720p. It has the viral reel's sound, which you can turn off on the result screen and swap for your own song when you post.
Does the ATM glitch video cost credits?
Yes. The Generate button shows the exact price before you spend anything, Standard costs far less than Best, and if a video fails, the credits come back.
Will the woman from the original reel be in my video?
No. You take her place at the ATM, and nobody else is in the booth. MakeViral is not linked with @prostoanastasiya_, @ehustlr or @aicreatedthis_.
