An AI ad generator writes and renders your ad instead of filming it. MakeViral makes one kind: a fake text conversation. Two people text about your product inside an iMessage, WhatsApp, Messenger or Apple Notes screen, rendered 1080x1920 at 30 fps. Each ad costs 10 credits, and one run returns up to five.

What is a fake text conversation ad?

A fake text conversation ad is a short vertical video of a chat. Two people message each other about a problem and a product, the messages appear one at a time with a typing indicator between them, and the viewer reads it the way they read their own phone.

MakeViral renders it as a 1080x1920 file at 30 fps. Six to twelve short messages is the working length: below six there is no conversation, above twelve the reader leaves before the offer.

Three things are optional, and each one changes the ad:

  • A voiceover per message. The ad then works with sound on, and the pacing follows the read instead of a fixed timer.
  • A gameplay background behind a phone frame. The chat sits in a phone mockup with movement underneath, the same trick as the gameplay background video generator.
  • The skin. iMessage, WhatsApp, Messenger or Apple Notes. Notes is the odd one out: one person typing a statement, not a conversation.

The format itself is not new. It is the fake text message video template that already carries storytime content, pointed at a product instead of a plot twist. Open the ad builder and the first choice you make is the skin.

Why does a conversation ad beat a talking head on a cold feed?

On a cold feed the viewer is not asking whether your ad is good. They are asking whether it is an ad, and they answer in about a second.

A talking-head ad answers for them. One person, centered, holding something, speaking at the camera: the shape of the frame gives it away before a word lands. A chat screen looks like a screenshot somebody forwarded, so the scroll reflex does not fire and you get the time to read the first message.

Four practical consequences follow:

  • No actor. No casting, no shoot, no creator fee, no reshoot when legal changes a claim.
  • The script is the ad. Rewriting it takes a minute, because there is no footage to match.
  • It lands on mute. The text is the ad itself, not a caption laid over an ad.
  • A weak opener is survivable. A talking head with a flat first line is dead. A chat with a flat first message still gets read to message two, because reading two lines of a conversation is cheap.

The cost is different, not absent. A conversation ad is a written scene, so write it as a pitch in a texting voice and never present it as a real customer's message. The AI influencer generator carries the same rule.

Which chat skin should you pick?

Pick the app your buyer actually messages in. A WhatsApp ad shown to a US iPhone audience reads as foreign, and an iMessage ad shown in Brazil or India reads as a stock photo of a phone.

SkinReads as native toBest forOpen it
iMessageUS, UK, Canada, Australia, iPhone-heavy feedsConsumer apps, DTC products, anything sold into a US feediMessage ads
WhatsAppMost of Europe, Latin America, India, MENA, Southeast AsiaLocal services, coaching, ecommerce outside the USWhatsApp ads
MessengerFacebook-first audiences, older skewOffers aimed at 35 and up, local business, Meta placementsMessenger ads
Apple NotesAnywhere, because it is a phone screen and not a chatFounder notes, announcements, price changes, longer claimsApple Notes ads

Two rules that save a rerun:

Match the skin to the placement, not to your own phone. If the ad set targets Germany, use WhatsApp even though you text in iMessage. The bubble color is the first thing a viewer recognizes, and recognition is the mechanism.

Use Notes when the message is one-sided. A price increase, a restock, a founder explaining a decision: none of those survive being split between two characters. Write them as an Apple Notes ad.

Undecided? Start from the text message ad generator and switch skins later.

Which angle should the conversation take?

Six angles ship with the builder. They differ by who opens the chat and what that person wants.

AngleWho opensThe job of message oneUse it when
Friend recommendationA friend of the buyerSound like a discovery, not a pitchCold traffic with no brand awareness
TestimonialThe buyerName a specific result with a number or a dateYou have one concrete outcome to claim
Before and afterThe buyerReference the old state so the new one landsThe outcome is visible or measurable
ObjectionA skepticSay the doubt out loud before the viewer doesCrowded category, or a price people flinch at
Founder noteYou, in NotesState the decision in the first lineAnnouncements, price changes, trust building
SecretAn insiderFrame the message as something not meant to spreadDiscount codes, early access, limited stock

The objection angle is the one most people skip. A skeptic who says "isn't this just the cheap one with a logo on it" gives you permission to answer, and an answer to a stated doubt beats a claim nobody challenged. The secret angle is the most fragile: keep it for real constraints, like a code that expires.

Angle and skin are independent, with one exception: a founder note only works in Notes.

How do you write the script?

Two things decide the ad: the first message, and whether the rest sounds like typing.

The first message is the whole ad

Everything after message one is read only by the people message one kept. Write ten openers and pick on one test: would you read the reply?

What works:

  • A result with a number. "3 weeks in and my ring finally fits."
  • A confession. "ok i caved and bought it."
  • A question that needs an answer. "wait how much did you pay for yours?"
  • A complaint about the old way. "i am not filming another ad with my face."

What does not: your brand name, a greeting, an emoji sentence, anything that reads like a headline.

Write the way people actually type

The format collapses the moment it sounds written. Rules that hold up:

  1. Lowercase, mostly. Title case reads as a billboard.
  2. One idea per bubble. If a message needs a conjunction, split it in two and let the typing indicator do the pause.
  3. Short. Under about twelve words per message. Long bubbles look pasted.
  4. Let them interrupt. Real chats overlap: two messages from one person, then a reply. Perfect alternation reads like a script.
  5. Keep punctuation thin. Few periods, no semicolons, no faked typos in the offer line.
  6. Name the price plainly. "it was 39" beats "affordably priced".
  7. End with one instruction. A link, a code, a name to search. One, not three.

Put the offer in the last third

The buyer character should be sold by about message eight. Messages nine to twelve hold the price, the code and the instruction. If the offer arrives at message three, the ad reads as an ad from message three onward, and you have thrown away what the format gave you.

How do you test five variants of one script?

One run makes up to five ads, which is a deliberate number: it is enough to isolate one variable and cheap enough to throw four away.

Change one thing across the five. That is the method.

RoundHold constantVaryWhat you learn
1Angle, skin, offerThe first message, five versionsWhich opener earns a read
2Winning opener, skinThe angle, five versionsWhich story sells your product
3Opener, angle, skinMessage count, 6 vs 8 vs 10 vs 12Where your audience drops
4Everything in the scriptSkin and background on or offWhich screen fits your placement

Five ads is 50 credits, about $5.00 on the $49.99 plan. A round a week for four weeks is 200 credits.

Two mistakes to avoid. Do not vary the offer and the hook in the same round: when one wins you will not know which half did it. And do not judge on the first hour of delivery. Let each variant spend enough to compare, then kill four and rebuild around the survivor.

Keep the losing scripts. The second-best opener is often the best opener for a different audience.

What does a conversation ad cost?

Ads are priced per rendered ad, not per second or per message. A twelve-message ad with voiceover costs the same as a six-message ad without one.

Plans, read from pricing on September 17, 2026: $9.99 for a one-time pack of 100 credits, which is 10 ads. $49.99 per month for 500 credits, which is 50 ads. $199.99 per month for 3,000 credits, which is 300 ads.

New accounts start with zero credits, so the first ad needs a plan. Cancel anytime, 14-day refund window on unused credits.

Compare that against a creator-shot video ad, where a reshoot costs as much as the shoot. Here the reshoot is a rewrite. When clicks in this category are expensive, you cannot afford to test slowly.

What the ad generator does not do

The builder makes the file. Everything that happens after the file exists is yours.

  • No ad account integration. No connection to Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager or Google Ads. You download the MP4 and upload it where you buy.
  • No scheduling, no auto-posting, no connected social accounts. There is no calendar and no publish button.
  • No analytics. Spend, CTR and cost per purchase live in your ad platform. Nothing here reports on an ad after you export it.
  • No API and no bulk import. The builder runs in the browser, up to five ads per run.
  • No 16:9 or long-form export. Everything renders 1080x1920 and short. There is no landscape version and no two-minute version.
  • No real customers. The conversation is written by you. It is a scene, not a transcript, and it should not be labeled as a review from a named person.
  • No live product footage. If you need the product on screen in someone's hand, use the AI influencer generator.

If your blocker is buying and measuring rather than making, read the alternatives comparisons first.

What you get

What is included

Four chat skins

iMessage, WhatsApp, Messenger and Apple Notes. Switch the skin after the script is written and re-render in one pass.

Typing indicator pacing

Messages appear one at a time with a typing indicator between them, so the reader waits for the reply instead of skimming a block.

Optional per-message voiceover

Add a voice to each bubble and the ad works with sound on, with pacing that follows the read rather than a fixed timer.

Optional gameplay background

Drop the chat into a phone frame over moving gameplay when the feed you buy on punishes a static screen.

Five variants per run

Generate up to five versions of one script at once, change a single variable across them and keep the winner.

How it works

From idea to finished file

  1. Pick a skin and an angle

Choose iMessage, WhatsApp, Messenger or Notes, then one of six angles: recommendation, testimonial, before and after, objection, founder note or secret.

  2. Write six to twelve messages

Type the conversation or let the generator draft it from your product. Add a voiceover and a gameplay background if the placement needs one.

  3. Render and download

Each ad renders 1080x1920 at 30 fps for 10 credits, up to five per run. You upload it to your ad account yourself.

FAQ

AI Ad Generator questions

What is an AI ad generator?
It is a tool that writes and renders an ad without a camera. MakeViral makes one type: a fake text conversation about your product, rendered as a 1080x1920 video. You choose the chat skin and the angle, write or generate six to twelve messages, and download the file for 10 credits.
Are fake text message ads allowed on TikTok and Meta?
Both platforms run their own ad review and the rules change, so check the current advertising policies of the platform you buy on before you spend. What you control is the content: do not impersonate a real person or brand, and do not present a written scene as a real customer review.
How long should a conversation ad be?
Six to twelve messages, which usually lands between 15 and 30 seconds depending on your pacing and whether voiceover is on. Fewer than six and there is no conversation to follow. More than twelve and readers leave before the offer, which always belongs in the last third.
Can I add a voiceover to each message?
Yes. Voiceover is optional and applies per message, so the ad reads out loud with sound on and still works on mute. It does not change the price: an ad is 10 credits whether it has voiceover or not, and whether it has six messages or twelve.
Which chat skin converts best?
There is no universal answer, only a match to your audience. Use iMessage for US, UK and other iPhone-heavy feeds. Use WhatsApp for Europe, Latin America, India and Southeast Asia. Use Messenger for older Facebook-first audiences, and Apple Notes when the message comes from one person rather than a conversation.
How much does one ad cost?
10 credits per ad, up to five ads per run. That is about $1.00 per ad on the $49.99 plan for 500 credits, and about $0.67 on the $199.99 plan for 3,000 credits. A one-time 100-credit pack is $9.99 and makes 10 ads. New accounts start with zero credits, so the first ad needs a plan.
Does MakeViral upload the ad to my ad account?
No. There is no Meta, TikTok or Google Ads integration, no scheduling and no auto-posting. You download the MP4 and upload it in your own ad manager. Reporting stays there too, because this surface has no analytics of its own.
Can I use a real customer's messages?
Do not paste a real person's chat into an ad. With their permission you can use their words as source material for a written scene, but keep real names and identifying details out of the frame, and do not label the ad as a testimonial from a specific customer.
