Bye Bye Trend AI: Laugh, Wave Bye Bye, Come Back Changed

You laugh like a villain, wave "bye bye" and cover the camera with your hand. When the hand moves away, you are someone else: a white-and-red clown face, or a black villain look under red neon. One photo of you or your pet in, a vertical clip out.

The bye bye trend is the Halloween transition of October 2026: an evil "hahaha", a sweet "bye bye", a hand over the lens, and then a full costume or makeup reveal. This Halloween transition trend runs on one clip, the hahaha bye bye TikTok sound. Here you need one photo with your face clear, or one of your pet.

Which photo works best?

Use one sharp photo with your face clear and close, from the chest up. The Clown makeup version is a selfie close-up, so your face fills the frame; a clear, front-facing face keeps you recognizable under the face paint.

  • Face visible: no sunglasses, no hat, no heavy filter.
  • Daylight or a bright room. Any background works; each version sets its own room.
  • One person per photo.
  • For the Villain look, a photo from the waist up helps the model with your build.
  • For the Pet version, one photo of your pet with the face and ears in view.
  • Use your own photo, or one of an adult who said yes. Never a celebrity or a stranger.

Where did the Bye Bye Trend trend start?

The laugh came first. On 13 August 2025 @forcheers posted a clown clip captioned "Hahahahhahaaa… Bye Bye!" with the same evil laugh and "bye bye" that the trend uses now. In October 2026 the sound came back as a Halloween transition trend. On 4 October @kayla_self posted "bye bye": she laughs behind her hand, waves goodbye, covers the camera and comes back in white-and-red clown face paint (57,700 views). On 13 October the Brazilian creator @camilapudim posted her own "Bye Bye" transition, from a laughing selfie through a cloud of smoke to a full horror clown, and it reached 2.8 million views and 526,100 likes.

After that the hahaha bye bye sound became the bye bye trend TikTok creators use for Halloween makeup and costume reveals: @saskialester's "Bye bye" had 131,700 views four days after she posted it, and @fallandhalloweenl put it in a list of Halloween transition ideas on 26 October. On 28 October an AI app ad turned the same sound into a bye bye outfit change: a woman on a stool under white neon kicks off her boots, the light turns red, and she is in a black villain look. On 29 October, #halloweentransition had 83,771 videos.

Video prompt

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same selfie phone camera held at arm's length in the same living room with a ceiling fan and warm string lights, the same framing, timing, gestures, head moves and mouth moves, and the same hard cut at 00:05.4 where an open hand covers the lens. The ONLY change: the young woman who films herself is now the person in [Image 1]. The person = the person in [Image 1], in EVERY shot: copy the exact face from [Image 1] - face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles exactly as in the photo. The same real person in every frame, from the first second to the last, also under the face paint after the cut, so their friends instantly recognize them. Never morph, never drift back to the original woman's face. NO hair bun, NO gold necklace, NO arm tattoos and NO long red nails unless [Image 1] shows them. If [Image 1] shows an animal, the person is that animal, with its own face, fur and markings and the natural body volume and proportions of that animal. Shot 1 [00:00-00:05.4]: the person wears the clothes from [Image 1]; if [Image 1] shows only the head, invent a simple top that matches. 00:00-00:03.5: an evil cackle: one hand over the mouth, the eyes squeezed with laughter, then the head tips back laughing with the mouth wide open, the hand on the chest. 00:03.5-00:05.0: a cheeky look into the camera, the mouth shapes "bye bye", both hands flick and wave goodbye in front of the body. 00:05.0-00:05.4: one open hand moves to the lens and covers the whole frame. Shot 2 [00:05.4-00:11]: hard cut. The same person in the same room and the same framing, now in a full Halloween doll clown face paint: a matte white face, big round deep red circles around both eyes with thin black star lines drawn through them, a small red dot on the forehead and the nose, dark red lips; the hair pulled back tight; a plain black long-sleeve top with a silver chain necklace. A cold, still stare into the camera, small slow head tilts, never smiling. The paint sits on the person's own face: the face shape, eye color, eyes, nose and mouth stay exactly those of [Image 1]. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music. Anatomy rules: one head only, on the person's shoulders. Two arms and two hands, five fingers on each hand. Exactly one person. No smoke, no vapor, no text, no captions, no stickers, no logos, no watermark.

Villain look

1 photo: your photo, face clearSeedance 2.510 s · 720p · 9:16126 credits
Video prompt

A vertical 10-second video, one fixed straight-on camera, full body, in a dark empty studio with a glossy black floor: a plain wooden bar stool in the center, tall white neon light tubes standing upright on the left and on the right. The person sitting on the stool is the one in [Image 1], in every frame: copy the exact face from [Image 1] - face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles exactly as in the photo. The same real person from the first frame to the last, also after the light turns red and with the sunglasses on, so their friends recognize them at once. If [Image 1] shows an animal, the performer is that animal, with its own face, fur and markings, wearing the same clothes sized to its body. Shot 1 [00:00-00:05]: cool white neon light. The person sits on the stool in a loose grey hoodie, black jeans, white socks and black lace-up boots. 00:00-00:02.5: they lift one leg and kick the boot off high into the air, then the other boot. 00:02.5-00:04: an evil laugh with the head thrown back. 00:04-00:05: they lean toward the camera with a sly grin, say "bye bye" and wave, and the neon tubes flicker. Shot 2 [00:05-00:10]: hard cut. Every neon tube now glows deep red and the whole studio is bathed in red light. The same person now wears a black villain look: a fitted black leather jacket zipped up to the collar, black leather trousers, black knee-high boots, black leather gloves and dark sunglasses, fully covered. They stand up from the stool in one slow, confident move, hold a cool villain pose with a small head tilt, then walk out of the frame to the right, leaving the empty stool under the red light. Sound: a short evil laugh "hahaha" at 00:02.5 and a sweet "bye bye" at 00:04.5, both in the person's own voice, a deep bass hit at the cut, then a slow dark beat. No other dialogue. Real live-action footage, a fashion film look, sharp faces. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark. No lingerie, no latex, no bare legs, no cleavage, no close-ups of the body. One head only, two arms, five fingers on each hand, exactly one person.

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same selfie phone camera at arm's length in the same living room with a ceiling fan and warm string lights, the same framing, timing and head moves, and the same hard cut at 00:05.4 where a paw covers the lens. The pet = the pet in [Image 1], in EVERY shot: the same species and breed, face, eyes, ears, muzzle, fur colors, fur length and markings as in [Image 1], with the natural body volume and proportions of that animal: never flattened, squashed, stretched or merged with anything. Whether [Image 1] shows a dog, a cat or another animal, it stays that animal, sitting upright facing the camera where the woman sits. The same pet in every frame, also under the face paint after the cut, so its owner instantly recognizes it. No woman, no human face, no human body, no hair bun, no necklace on the pet before the cut. Shot 1 [00:00-00:05.4]: 00:00-00:03.5: the pet cackles: the mouth opens wide, the eyes squeeze, a front paw lifts to the muzzle, then the head tips back with the mouth wide open, as if it laughs like a villain. 00:03.5-00:05.0: a cheeky look into the camera, one front paw waves bye bye. 00:05.0-00:05.4: the paw moves to the lens and covers the whole frame. Shot 2 [00:05.4-00:11]: hard cut. The same pet in the same room and the same framing, now with Halloween clown face paint on its own fur: the face painted matte white, big round deep red circles around both eyes, a small red nose, dark red around the mouth; it wears a small black top with a silver chain necklace, sized to its own body. A cold, still stare into the camera, small slow head tilts. Its face shape, eyes, ears and muzzle stay exactly those of [Image 1]. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music. Anatomy rules: one head only, one muzzle, natural teeth and tongue. Animal paws, never human hands, no extra legs. Exactly one animal, no people. How does the bye bye Halloween transition work?

The hand is the edit. You film yourself laughing like a villain, say "bye bye", and put your open hand over the lens. That frame of skin hides the cut, and when the camera sees again you are in full Halloween makeup or a costume. Creators use smoke, a spin or a hand, but the beat is always the same: the evil laugh, the bye bye, the reveal.

MakeViral has three versions:

  • Clown makeup copies @kayla_self's reel shot for shot: 11 seconds, a selfie close-up, an evil laugh, "bye bye" with a hand wave, the hand over the lens at 5.4 seconds, then you in white face paint with big red eye circles and dark red lips. Your face, hair and skin tone come from your photo; the room, the camera and the timing come from the reel. The clip comes with the reel's hahaha bye bye sound.
  • Villain look is the bye bye outfit change from the October ad, made as a new scene from your photo: you sit on a wooden stool between white neon tubes in a grey hoodie and boots, kick the boots off, laugh and say "bye bye", the neon turns red, and you stand up in a black leather jacket, black leather trousers, gloves and sunglasses. 10 seconds, with sound the AI makes for the scene (a laugh, a "bye bye" and a dark beat), not the TikTok sound.
  • Pet puts your cat or dog into the same reel as the Clown makeup version: a wide-open "laugh", a paw wave, a paw over the lens, then clown face paint on its fur. With the reel's sound.

The videos are made with the best AI video models available, including Seedance 2.5.

Which sound is the bye bye trend song?

The bye bye trend song is not a released track. On TikTok it is an "original sound": a few seconds of an evil laugh, a sweet "bye bye", and then music under the reveal. The reels in this trend credit it to the TikTok user schlamii, and the same laugh and "bye bye" were already in @forcheers's clown clip of August 2025. We could not confirm where the voice first came from, so we name no source. If you search for the hahaha bye bye song or the bye bye sound on TikTok, open any reel above and tap the sound.

The Clown makeup and Pet videos come with the reel's own sound, so they are ready to post; you can turn it off on the result screen. The Villain look has the sound the AI makes for the scene. The sound belongs to its owners, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. To use the trending sound in a post, add it in TikTok when you post, from its library.

Hashtags: #halloweentransition is the big tag of the trend (83,771 videos on 29 October 2026), and #byebyetrend (283 videos) and #hahahabyebye reach the people who search the bye bye trend.

What can go wrong, and how do you fix it?

These versions are new, and we have not run them with test photos yet. These are the problems to look out for:

What goes wrongWhyWhat to do
You look less like you after the cutHeavy white face paint hides part of the faceUse a sharp, close, front-facing photo in good light, then run it again.
A hair bun or a necklace from the reel appearsThe creator in the reel wears themRun it again; the version asks for your own hair and none of her jewelry.
The Villain look has no TikTok soundIt is a new scene, not a copy of a reelAdd the hahaha bye bye sound in TikTok when you post.
The pet's face paint looks thinFur takes paint less clearly than skinUse a photo where the pet's face is big and lit from the front.
The "bye bye" mouth moves are not exactThe mouth follows the reel, not the wordsThat is normal; the sound covers it.
FAQ

Bye Bye Trend trend questions

What is the bye bye trend on TikTok?
It is a Halloween transition: you laugh like a villain to the "hahaha... bye bye" sound, cover the camera with your hand or a cloud of smoke, and come back in full makeup or a costume. It took off in October 2026 after @camilapudim's horror clown version reached 2.8 million views. People also call it the bye bye tiktok trend or the bye bye Halloween transition.
How do I make the bye bye trend with AI?
Press "Create your own" on this page, pick Clown makeup, Villain look or Pet, add one photo and press Generate. MakeViral puts you into the trend, so you write no prompt. The bye bye trend AI video lands in My videos as a vertical MP4.
What is the hahaha bye bye meme?
The hahaha bye bye meme is the sound itself: a cartoonish evil laugh and then a sweet "bye bye", used before something disappears or changes. In the bye bye evil laugh clips the person laughs into the camera, waves, and is gone or changed a second later.
Is there a bye bye outfit change version?
Yes, the Villain look. You sit on a stool under white neon in a hoodie, kick off your boots, laugh and say "bye bye", the light turns red, and you stand up in a black leather jacket, trousers, gloves and sunglasses. It is a bye bye villain transition made as a new AI scene from your photo.
What are good Halloween transition ideas with this sound?
The reveal makes it. Clown makeup, a witch, a zombie or a full villain outfit work best, because the change is big and you can see it in one frame. For a real halloween transition, film the laugh and the wave, cover the lens with your hand, change, and start the second take with your hand on the lens. The clown makeup transition is the most posted look of the bye bye halloween wave.
Can I do the bye bye trend with my pet?
Yes. The Pet version puts your cat or dog into the same reel as the Clown makeup version: it opens its mouth wide as if it laughs, waves a paw, covers the lens, and comes back with clown face paint on its fur. It is the bye bye pet trend without any real paint on your pet.
How long is the video?
Clown makeup and Pet are 11 seconds, like the reel, with the reel's sound. The Villain look is 10 seconds with AI-made sound. All three are vertical 9:16 at 720p. A video takes several minutes, and you can leave the page while it runs: the finished clip waits in My videos.
Does the bye bye video cost credits?
Yes. Each video costs credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. If a video fails, the credits come back.
Can I post it on TikTok or Instagram?
Yes. The MP4 has no watermark, so you can post it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts. The sound belongs to its owners: check the platform's music rules before you use the clip in an ad. Keep the platform's AI label on, and tag it #halloweentransition or #byebyetrend.
