Account Warm-Up Guide

TikTok Account Warm-Up Guide

Follow these steps to properly warm up your TikTok account and avoid shadow bans. It will take you about few hours to a day to warm up the account.

1
First Session
Initial engagement with TikTok

Spend about 5-10 minutes on your first session. Scroll through videos, search for content in your niche, watch similar content to what you plan to create, and engage by liking and saving videos. This helps TikTok understand your interests and establishes normal user behavior.

Duration: 5-10 minutes
2
Close TikTok
Wait before returning

Close the TikTok app completely. Wait for a while before opening it again, maybe 1 hour, maybe less, maybe more. The exact timing doesn't really matter, but giving it some time helps establish natural usage patterns.

Wait time: 1 hour or more (flexible)
3
Second Session
Complete your profile and engage more

In this session, complete your profile setup:

  • Put your profile photo
  • Add your name
  • Write a description
  • Watch some more videos
  • Like videos
  • Comment on videos
  • Engage with comments (reply to comments on videos you've commented on)

Again, spend about 5-10 minutes on this session.

Duration: 5-10 minutes
4
Close TikTok Again
Wait before the third session

Close the app again and wait before your third session. This continues to establish natural usage patterns.

5
Third Session
Test following capability

Open TikTok for the third time. Scroll and engage again. Now try to follow any page that you see. After following, refresh the app.

6
Verify Following Works
Check if your account can follow pages

After following a page and refreshing the app, check on your profile:

  • Can you really follow that page?
  • Is your following count increased and showing as 1 (or more)?
  • Does it persist even after refreshing?

If you could follow the page without any problem: Your account is warmed up enough and you can start posting!

If you can't follow any pages: Wait for a while, keep engaging, open TikTok at different times of the day, and try following again. Repeat these steps a couple more times if needed.

7
First Test Post
Verify account is ready with a test video

For your first post, use TikTok Camera itself to record a video. Put some song and add a description, then post it.

Success indicator: If the video gets more than 100 views in the first 1 hour, then you're good to go! Your account is warmed up successfully.

Important:

Use TikTok Camera to record the video, this shows TikTok that you're creating original content, not just uploading.

8
Make Test Video Private
Hide the test video without deleting

After confirming your account is warmed up (100+ views in first hour), go to the privacy settings of the video and make it visible to "Only Me".

Warning:

Do NOT delete the video directly. TikTok doesn't like when you delete so many videos. Instead, make it private by setting it to "Only Me" in the privacy settings.

Additional Safety Tips
Extra precautions for maximum safety

Repeat steps: If you want to be more safe, repeat these steps a couple more times before posting your actual content.

Can't follow pages: If you can't follow any pages, wait for a while, keep engaging, and open TikTok at different times of the day. Try following again later.

Natural behavior: The key is to mimic natural user behavior, don't rush through the steps, take your time, and vary your activity patterns.

Quick Tips

Each session should be 5-10 minutes. Don't rush!

Wait between sessions, timing is flexible but important.

Being able to follow pages is a key indicator your account is ready.

Never delete videos, always make them private instead.
