  1. Add your photo

Press "Create your own" and add your car, the whole car. Take it with the camera or pick it from your library.

  2. Press Generate

The button shows the price. Nano Banana 2.1 puts your photo into the Christmas Lights Car scene and makes one 2K photo. You write no prompt.

  3. Download or share

The photo is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 2K image. Download it, share it from your phone, turn it into a video, or find it later in My videos.

Which photo works best?

Upload one sharp photo of your whole car, truck, SUV or van. Photo 1 is always the car in the car versions, so it carries over between them. Champagne window takes one photo of you, Champagne pet one of your pet.

  • Show all of it. A front corner view in daylight works best, from the roof to the tires.
  • Mods count. Wheels, spoilers, racks and the ride height carry over.
  • One car, no crowd. Park it away from other cars. People in the car photo are left out.
  • With you: photo 2 is you alone, from the waist up or the whole body, face to the camera, in good light.
  • With your pet: photo 2 is your pet alone, the whole body, sharp and in good light.
  • Number plate: the picture leaves the plate unreadable, so you can post it as it is.
  • Use a photo of your own car, or one whose owner said yes.

Where did the Christmas Lights Car trend start?

Putting Christmas lights on a car is a real TikTok trend first. The #christmaslightsoncar tag dates from December 2021, and the big wave came in November and December 2024: @m4dave's "Christmas Came Early" on 13 November reached 512,000 views, and @jpflect's car wrapped in Christmas lights on 4 December reached 4.8 million views and 528,300 likes, the most viewed post we found. In December 2024 police in Wyoming and in York County, Pennsylvania, told drivers to keep the lights on their houses.

The AI version followed. On 20 December 2024 @intiszene posted an AI-made sports car covered in glowing lights, "AI generated" (27,700 views), and in December 2025 CapCut effects that "turn your car into a christmas light show" and ChatGPT posts like @billyboyks21's "Make my car look like it parked in the snow with Christmas lights" spread. The Christmas lights car trend came back early in 2026: "Christmas cars are back", @distortionstreet posted on 1 November (531,200 views), and the next day the first AI clip of the new season showed cars on snow with every line traced in lights.

  1. @jpflect posts his car wrapped in Christmas lights, "Still can't stop staring"; it reaches 4.8 million views and 528,300 likes, the most viewed post of the trend we found. TikTok

  2. Police warn against Christmas lights on cars: the Wyoming Highway Patrol cites its ban on red and blue lights, and York County Regional Police in Pennsylvania call them distracting and illegal. Carscoops

  3. @intiszene posts an AI-made sports car covered in Christmas lights, labeled "AI generated": the earliest AI version we found (27,700 views by 6 November 2026). TikTok

  4. @billyboyks21 shows his ChatGPT prompt on screen, "Make my car look like it parked in the snow with Christmas lights and trees", with the pictures of his own car (15,200 views). TikTok

  5. "Christmas cars are back": @distortionstreet opens the 2026 season with 531,200 views, and Google searches for car Christmas lights in the US double in that week. TikTok

  6. @ai__404__ posts the first AI clip of the new season: cars parked on fresh snow in front of a lit house, "The whole car is Christmas lights". TikTok

Use the uploaded image as the base. Make my car look like it parked in the snow with Christmas lights and trees use 20-72 f2 lens: my car is the vehicle in the uploaded image, whatever kind it is (a car, a pickup, an SUV or a van). Restage the exact vehicle from the uploaded image parked on fresh snow in a driveway in front of a house. Christmas lights on the car: strands of warm white string lights with small glowing bulbs, close together and evenly spaced, trace the car's own lines: the whole roofline, the edges of every window, the side mirrors, the door lines, the edges of the hood, the grille outline, the bumpers and the wheel arches. The bulbs glow warm and bright, the thin dark wires hug the body, and the light reflects softly on the paint and the snow. The windows, the headlights and the wheels stay clear. It is still clearly the same vehicle as in the photo, so the owner knows it at once: the same body shape and size, paint color, wheels and tires, ride height, headlights, grille shape, mirrors, spoiler, racks and every other part it has. Never a different model, never repainted. Its headlights are on low. The scene: blue hour just after sunset on a quiet winter evening. A thin layer of fresh snow on the roof and the hood, snowflakes falling softly, snow on the ground and the driveway, the house behind with warm lit windows and Christmas lights along its roof, snow-covered pine trees with Christmas lights at the sides, a deep blue sky. Shot on a 24-70 mm zoom at f/2: a shallow depth of field and soft round bokeh in the lights behind. The car stands in a front three-quarter view, the whole car in frame from the roof to the tires, large in the lower half of the picture, with the camera low at about bumper height. Photorealistic, a real photo, not CGI, not a painting. Vertical 9:16. No people and no human faces anywhere in the picture. No readable number plate, even if the photo shows one. A slow, quiet, cinematic shot of the parked car at blue hour on a snowy winter evening, one continuous shot. Keep the car exactly as in the image: the same shape, paint, wheels, Christmas lights and place. It never moves, its doors stay closed and nobody gets in or out. The camera drifts slowly and smoothly in a gentle arc around the front corner of the car at bumper height for the whole clip, with the whole car always in frame. Snowflakes fall softly through the light, the string lights on the car, the house and the trees glow steadily and twinkle gently, never flashing, and a light breeze moves the snow on the pine branches. No cuts. Audio: a calm winter night: a soft wind, the hush of falling snow, a faint jingle of sleigh bells far away, no music. No people, no text, no logos, no number plate.

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: a snowy road at night, filmed with a handheld phone from a car driving right next to a boxy black luxury SUV that is wrapped all over in warm white Christmas string lights (along the roof, the window edges, the doors, the wheel arches and the wheels), with the same framing, camera moves and timing, one continuous take with no cuts. Santa Claus, with a long white beard and a red suit with white fur trim, drives it from the front seat. The ONLY change: the woman with long red hair who sits in the SUV's open rear window is now the person in [Image 1]. The SUV and its lights, Santa at the wheel, the snowy road and the night stay exactly as in [Video 1], with no badges. The one in the window = the person in [Image 1], in EVERY frame: copy the exact face from [Image 1] (the face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles) exactly as in the photo. The same real person from the first frame to the last, so their friends instantly recognize them, also when the hair blows across the face, inside the spray and when they drink. Never morph, never drift back to the original woman's face. No long red hair unless [Image 1] shows it. The outfit is the Snow Maiden look of [Video 1], never the clothes from [Image 1]: a woman wears the short fluffy light-blue dress with white fur trim and a white pearl choker; a man wears a light-blue winter coat with white fur trim over a white shirt, with no dress. Their own hair blows in the wind. Santa at the wheel stays as in [Video 1]: a small figure with a white beard and a red suit behind the front side window, and he never gets the face from any photo. The moves, matching the reference second by second: 0-2.3 s: the person sits on the frame of the open rear window of the SUV, leans far out and holds a champagne bottle high overhead with both arms straight up, the hair streaming back. 2.3-4 s: brings the bottle down to the chest and works the cork loose with both thumbs, smiling. 4-5.5 s: the cork pops and a tall jet of foam shoots up and back into the night sky behind the car. 5.5-7.5 s: tips the head back and drinks straight from the bottle, laughing. 7.5-10 s: the camera car falls back, and the lit-up SUV pulls ahead and drives away down the snowy road into the dark, its red tail lights glowing. Anatomy rules: one head only, on the person's own shoulders; two arms, five fingers on each hand. Exactly one person in the window and Santa at the wheel; no other people. A plain dark green champagne bottle with a plain gold foil top and no readable label. Keep everything else the same. No dialogue throughout the entire video. No background music. No badges, emblems or lettering on the car, no readable number plate, no text, no captions, no logos, no watermark.

What the Christmas lights on car AI keeps, and what it adds

The joke works because the car is clearly yours, just lit up for Christmas. So this Christmas car AI keeps what owners know and adds only the season.

Stays from your photoAdded for Christmas
The model, body shape and sizeWarm string lights along the roofline, the windows, the mirrors and the door lines
The paint colorA thin layer of fresh snow on the roof and the hood
Your wheels, tires and ride heightSnow on the ground and snowflakes in the air
Spoilers, racks and other partsA house with lit windows and Christmas lights behind it
The grille shape and the headlightsSnowy pine trees with lights, and a deep blue sky at dusk

It leaves out people from the car photo and makes the number plate unreadable.

How MakeViral makes it: your photo goes to a top-quality AI image model. The prompt starts with the words a creator showed on screen for his ChatGPT version, "Make my car look like it parked in the snow with Christmas lights and trees", then adds the look of the trend: the lights traced along the car's lines, the snowy driveway and the lit house. You get one 2K vertical picture (9:16) with no text and no watermark. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button, and every run lights your car a little differently.

Snow night, Full wrap, Video, With you or With your pet: which version should you pick?

All five start from one photo of your car.

  • Snow night is the trend as the new AI clips show it: your car parked on fresh snow at dusk, its roofline, windows, mirrors and body lines traced in warm white lights, a lit house behind. One 2K picture.
  • Full wrap is the look of the viral real cars: the whole body covered in multicolor Christmas lights, parked on a snowy street at night. One 2K picture.
  • Video makes the Snow night picture first, then a 10-second clip: the camera drifts slowly around the front of your car while the snow falls and the lights twinkle, with quiet winter sounds and no music. Standard and Best use the best AI video models available; Best costs more and keeps the car sharper.
  • With you puts you next to your lit-up car in the snow, in a warm winter coat: a holiday card for Christmas. Add a photo of yourself as photo 2.
  • With your pet puts your dog or cat on the snow next to the car. Add a photo of your pet as photo 2.

Champagne window is the New Year version of the champagne car window trend, from an AI reel by @ai.creatorledii (7 November 2026): a boxy black SUV wrapped in warm Christmas lights drives on a snowy road at night, Santa drives, and you lean out of the rear window in a light-blue Snow Maiden look or your own clothes, pop the champagne, spray it and drink before the car drives off. One photo of you, a vertical clip of about 10 seconds with the reel's sound, made with top-quality AI video models, including Seedance 2.5. Champagne + your car puts your own car, lit up the same way, in the SUV's place (photo 1 your car, photo 2 you), and Champagne pet puts your dog or cat in the window, where the bottle pops by itself. It is an AI video: never lean out of a moving car.

Under any finished picture you can also press "Make it a video" and write your own scene.

It depends on where you live, and police have warned about it. In December 2024 the Wyoming Highway Patrol pointed to its ban on vehicles that can show a red or blue light, and York County Regional Police in Pennsylvania called the lights "very distracting to other drivers" and illegal there, and asked drivers to "save the lights for their house" (Carscoops). Rules differ by state and country, so check your own local law before you drive with lights on your car.

The real thing also takes time: one creator wrote that the lights on his car took him 13 hours. If you only want the picture or the clip for your feed, a Christmas card or a phone wallpaper, you need no real Christmas lights for car pictures like these: no tape on the paint and no drive anywhere.

How do you post it like the trend?

  • Before and after: your car as it is today, then the lit-up picture. A two-photo carousel works well on TikTok and Instagram.
  • The reveal: post the Video version, a slow move around your glowing car in the snow.
  • Holiday card: the With you or With your pet picture makes a car Christmas card or a festive profile picture.

Sound: the AI clip has quiet winter sounds and no music, and the pictures have no sound. Add a Christmas song from the app's sound library when you post: the big real posts used Christmas pop songs.

Hashtags: #christmaslightsoncar (2,106 TikTok videos and 97.4 million views on 6 November 2026), #christmascar (9,011 videos) and #carchristmaslights. Keep the platform's AI label on, so nobody asks where you bought the lights.

FAQ

Christmas Lights Car trend questions

What is the Christmas lights on car trend?
Drivers wrap their cars in Christmas string lights and post the result. The Christmas lights on car trend took off on TikTok in late 2024, when one car wrapped in Christmas lights reached 4.8 million views, and it comes back every November. The AI version gives you the same look from one photo of your car, with no real lights.
Is it illegal to put Christmas lights on your car?
In some places, yes. In December 2024 the Wyoming Highway Patrol and York County Regional Police in Pennsylvania warned drivers against it: red and blue lights on a vehicle are banned in many states, and the lights can distract other drivers. Whether Christmas lights on car are legal depends on your state or country, so check your local law first. An AI picture of your car with Christmas lights breaks no traffic rule.
How do I make my car look like it has Christmas lights with AI?
Press "Create your own", pick Snow night or Full wrap, add one photo of your car and press Generate. MakeViral parks your car in the snow, traces it in Christmas lights and puts the picture in My videos. You need no app, no CapCut template and no prompt.
What prompt did the creators use?
One of the first AI posts showed the ChatGPT prompt on screen: "Make my car look like it parked in the snow with Christmas lights and trees use 20-72 f2 lens". Our prompt starts with those words, then adds the look of the trend's clips: the lights along the roofline, the windows and the mirrors, fresh snow, a lit house and a blue sky at dusk. If you came for a Christmas car ChatGPT prompt, you can skip the typing: the prompt is built in.
Will it still look like my car?
That is the point, and the prompt is written for it. It keeps the body shape, the paint color, the wheels and tires, the ride height, the grille and the headlights. A sharp photo of the whole car from a front corner gives the best match.
Does it work for trucks, SUVs and vans?
Yes. Any car, pickup, SUV or van works, so you can see Christmas lights on a truck too. Keep the whole vehicle in the photo, from the roof to the tires.
Can I be in the picture, or my dog?
Yes. Pick With you and add a photo of yourself as photo 2: you stand next to your lit-up car in the snow, in a winter coat, like a Christmas card. Pick With your pet for your dog or cat on the snow next to the car. Your face or your pet stays as in your photo.
Can I make it a video?
Yes. Pick Video: it makes the Snow night picture first, then a 10-second clip where the camera drifts slowly around your car while the snow falls and the lights twinkle. The clip has quiet winter sounds and no music, so add your Christmas song when you post. The video costs more credits than the picture.
Is there a Christmas champagne car version with Santa?
Yes. Champagne window is the New Year champagne car from an AI reel by @ai.creatorledii on Instagram (7 November 2026, captioned "New Year version"): Santa Claus driving a car wrapped in Christmas lights on a snowy road, and you in the rear window popping the champagne. Add one photo of yourself, or pick Champagne + your car to put your own car in it. If you searched for a Santa car AI clip, a Santa driving car video or "дед мороз за рулем", this is the one. It shows alcohol, so it is for adults only, and it is an AI video: never lean out of a moving car. The original champagne car window trend, on a rainy highway with no Santa, has its own template on MakeViral.
Is there a Christmas car CapCut template?
Yes, CapCut template makers posted Christmas car effects in December 2025 and again in November 2026. MakeViral has no link to CapCut. Here you add one photo and get a 2K Christmas car photo, with no template and no editing.
Can I use it for a Christmas car photoshoot, a card or a wallpaper?
Yes. The picture is a vertical 2K image, so it works as a phone Christmas car wallpaper, a festive profile picture, a car Christmas card or one of your Christmas car pictures for a carousel, without a real Christmas car photoshoot in the cold.
Does the Christmas lights car AI cost credits?
Yes. A picture costs a few credits, far fewer than a video. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything, and if a run fails, the credits come back.
Is my photo private?
Yes. MakeViral does not post your photo or the result anywhere or show them to other users. The result goes to your private My videos page, and you can delete it there at any time.
