Apple Notes Video Generator

Yellow-tinted paper, a title, and lines that type themselves word by word with a cursor. One person writing, nobody replying.

An Apple Notes video generator renders a written note as a vertical video: yellow-tinted paper, a title, and lines that type themselves word by word behind a cursor. There is no second person and no conversation. MakeViral exports it at 1080x1920 and 30 frames per second, ready to post.

What is an Apple Notes video ad?

It is the odd one out of MakeViral's four ad skins. The other three are conversations. This one is a single screen from the iPhone Notes app: a warm off-white page with the faint yellow paper tint, a bold title at the top, and body lines that appear word by word with a blinking cursor at the end of the last word.

Nobody replies. There is no contact name, no avatar, no bubbles, no ticks and no typing indicator, because there is nobody on the other end. The pacing comes from the cursor instead: the words arrive at reading speed, so the viewer reads with the writer rather than after them.

Checklist bullets are optional. Turn them on and lines render as tappable circles, filled for the items you tick off, which is what makes the list post and the "things I cancelled" shape work.

There is no voiceover in this skin. The other three read each message aloud with a female and a male voice alternating by side, but a note has one author, and a narrated voice over a typed screen fights the typing. You get typing sound and the cursor, which makes this the most reliable of the four skins in a muted feed.

MakeViral renders it at 1080x1920, 30 frames per second, on Remotion, with no watermark. Open the Notes ad builder to write one, or compare all four skins on the text message ad overview and the AI ad generator hub.

Why does a note work with only one person in it?

Every other chat ad needs a second character to be believable, and that character is a cost. Somebody has to ask the right question, react the right amount and want the product at the right moment. When the second person is written badly the whole ad collapses, because the viewer can feel a sock puppet.

A note removes the problem. There is nobody to perform, so nothing can be performed badly. What is left is one person writing something down, and the viewer reading over their shoulder.

That changes what the format is good at:

It can say things a conversation cannot. "I almost shut this down in March" is a sentence you can write in a note and cannot naturally text to a friend. Confession needs privacy, and a note is the private surface on a phone.

It can be uncomfortable. A thread has to stay pleasant, because two people are being polite to each other. A note has no such obligation, and discomfort is what stops a scroll.

It cannot do social proof. This is the real limit and it is worth stating plainly. There is no second person, so nobody can vouch for you. If your pitch needs "my friend uses this and it worked", you want the iMessage skin, the WhatsApp skin or the Messenger skin instead.

It is slow on purpose. Fewer viewers stop for a note than for a chat. The ones who do stop read all of it, because reading a note is an act of choosing. Judge this format on completion and clicks, not on three-second views.

The angle it exists for is the founder note. One person explaining a decision, a price, a mistake or a reason, in their own words, to nobody in particular.

How do you write a founder note that does not read like an ad?

The founder note is the only ad angle where being polished is the failure state. Seven rules.

Open on the admission, not the announcement. "We are excited to share" is an announcement. "I said I would never do this" is an admission. Only one of them earns the next line.

Keep the title under eight words. It renders bold at the top and it is the hook. "why this costs $3 more now" does more work than any first line.

One idea per line. The cursor types word by word, so a long line takes real time on screen. Four to nine words per line. Eight to twelve lines total.

Give a number that would embarrass you. Not a marketing number. The supplier increase, the months you nearly quit, the customers you had in year one. Specificity is what separates a confession from copy.

Name the product once, late. Usually the second-to-last line. Before that you are a person with a problem, which is the position the viewer trusts.

Do not thank the reader. "Thank you for your support" flips the note back into brand voice in six words.

End on a choice, not a command. "If that is not worth it to you, I understand" leaves the decision with the reader, and a reader who decides is a reader who taps.

One more thing nobody does: write it in the first person singular. Not "we". A company cannot write a note. A person can.

Two Apple Notes scripts you can copy the shape of

Both are written as a title plus lines. There is no Them and no You, because there is no second person in this skin.

Founder note: a soap brand raising its price

Title: why this costs $3 more now

LineText
1i said i would never raise it
2our oil supplier raised theirs twice this year
3so there were two options
4cut the oil content and say nothing
5or charge three dollars more and say something
6option one is the normal one
7nobody notices for about four months
8we took option two
9same formula, same jar, same batch size
10if that is not worth it to you, i understand
11if it is, the new batch is up

The brand is never named in the body. The title carries the hook, line seven carries the number that makes it real, and the last two lines hand the decision to the reader. Nothing in it is a claim you could put on a label, which is exactly why it reads as true.

List post with checklist bullets: a subscription tracker

Title: things i cancelled this year

LineText
1[x] two streaming services i never opened
2[x] a gym forty minutes away
3[x] a meal kit i threw half of out
4[x] a photo app charging me since 2021
5i did not find any of these myself
6Ledger put them on one screen
7it took four minutes
8i have not opened it since
9that is the point of it
10check yours before the next renewal

The checklist does the hook. Four ticked lines are four small recognitions in a row, and the viewer is counting their own subscriptions by line three. The product arrives at line six, after the reader has already done the work. Line eight is the unusual move: admitting the product is not used daily is a stronger argument for this category than any retention claim.

When should you pick Notes over a chat skin?

Pick by the sentence in the buyer's head, then check whether that sentence needs a second person to answer it.

What the buyer is thinkingBest skinAngle
"Who else uses this?"iMessage, WhatsApp or MessengerFriend recommendation
"Does it actually work?"Any chat skinBefore and after
"Why did the price change?"Apple NotesFounder note

"It costs too much"Chat skin, or Notes if you can explain the costObjection
"I am wasting money somewhere"Apple Notes with checklist bulletsSecret or list
"I have never heard of you"Chat skinFriend recommendation

A useful test: read your script and count the characters. If it needs two, it is a chat ad. If the second person exists only to say "wow really?" and "send me the link", delete them and write it as a note. That second person was scaffolding, and scaffolding always shows.

Notes also fits a place the chat skins do not: the moment after something goes wrong. A delay, a sold-out batch, a bug, a policy change. A conversation about a mistake reads as spin. A note about a mistake reads as an apology.

The gameplay background is available here as it is in the others, but it usually fights the format. A note is quiet, and quiet is why it holds people. Leave it off.

Credit costs are on the pricing page.

Is this the same as a faceless story video?

No. MakeViral makes ads and it makes story videos for reach, and the Notes skin belongs firmly to the ad side.

The story formats exist to entertain strangers who will never buy anything, which is a legitimate job and a completely different one. A full-screen iMessage story video builds tension out of the pause before a reply. A Notes ad has no reply to wait for. It is a person explaining themselves, and the payoff is that you believe them.

If you want a face and a voice saying the same thing, that is the UGC ad generator rather than this one. Notes is for the times when a face would make it less believable, not more.

What breaks an Apple Notes ad?

  • Brand voice. "We are thrilled to announce" ends the illusion in five words. Write as one person, in the first person singular, in lowercase.
  • Too many lines. Eight to twelve. The cursor types word by word, so fifteen lines is a long time on screen and a long time is a scroll.
  • A title that announces instead of hooking. "An update from the team" is not a title. "why this costs $3 more now" is.
  • Naming the product early. Line six at the earliest, usually the second-to-last. Before that, you are a person with a problem and the viewer is on your side.
  • A number you made up. The number is the proof. If you do not have a real one, cut the line rather than inventing one.
  • Expecting social proof. There is no second person here, so nobody can vouch for you. Move that pitch to a chat skin.
  • Thanking the reader. It flips the whole note back into a newsletter.
  • A hard close. No discount code, no "link in bio" inside the note. Hand the reader a choice and put the link in the caption.
  • Gameplay behind it. Usually wrong. The quiet is the format.
  • No ad label. It is still an ad. Disclose it, and use the platform's branded content control when there is one.

Why it works

What the apple notes video generator does for you

Real Notes paper

The warm yellow-tinted page, a bold title at the top and body lines in the Notes text style, full screen at 1080x1920.

Word-by-word cursor typing

Lines type themselves at reading speed behind a blinking cursor, so the viewer reads with the writer rather than after them.

Optional checklist bullets

Turn lines into tickable circles for list posts and confessions. Four ticked lines in a row is a hook on its own.

One voice, no second person

No contact, no bubbles, no reply. The only skin that can carry a confession, because nobody has to perform a reaction.

Works with the sound off

No voiceover at all, just typing sound. Built for muted scrolling from the start rather than adapted to it.

How it works

Three steps, about a minute

No editor, no timeline, no export settings to get wrong.

  1. Write the admission

The decision, the price change, the mistake or the list. One line on what you sell and why the note exists.

  2. Pick the title and the bullets

A title of eight words or fewer as the hook, then plain lines or checklist bullets for a list post.

  3. Generate five, keep one

A run returns up to five notes at 10 credits each, exported 1080x1920 with no watermark.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is an Apple Notes video generator?
It renders a written note as a vertical video that looks like the iPhone Notes app: yellow-tinted paper, a bold title and body lines that type themselves word by word behind a cursor. Checklist bullets are optional. The export is 1080x1920 at 30 frames per second, with typing sound and no voiceover.
Why does the Notes skin have no second person?
Because a note is written to yourself. That is the whole advantage: nobody has to perform a reaction, so nothing can be performed badly, and you can write sentences a person would never text to a friend. The cost is that it cannot do social proof, which needs a chat skin.
Can I add a voiceover to a Notes video?
No. The three chat skins can read each message aloud with a female and a male voice alternating by side, and this one cannot, because a note has a single author. You get typing sound and the cursor, which makes it the most dependable of the four skins in a muted feed.
How long should a founder note be?
A title of eight words or fewer, then eight to twelve lines of four to nine words each. The cursor types word by word, so every extra line costs real screen time. Name the product once, usually in the second-to-last line, and end by handing the decision to the reader.
What makes a founder note believable?
One real number you would rather not share, first person singular instead of "we", an admission in the opening line, and no thank-you at the end. Cut any sentence that could appear on a product page. The moment the note sounds written for an audience, it stops working as a note.
When should I use a chat skin instead?
Whenever the pitch needs someone else to vouch for you. Friend recommendations, testimonials and most objection ads need two people, so run them in the iMessage, WhatsApp or Messenger skin. Keep Notes for confessions, price changes, apologies, founder stories and list posts with checklist bullets.
What does an Apple Notes video cost?
Ten credits per ad, with up to five ads per run. That is $1.00 per ad on the $49.99 plan with 500 credits, or about $0.67 per ad on the $199.99 plan with 3,000 credits. New accounts start with zero credits. Cancel anytime, 14-day refund window on unused credits.
Do Notes videos get fewer views than chat ads?
Usually fewer people stop, and the ones who stop read all of it. Judge this format on completion and clicks rather than three-second views. A note asks the viewer to choose to read, which filters hard at the start and pays back at the end of the video.
