Run Fast AI Effect: Your Chairs, Car or House Grow Legs and Run Away

Take a photo of a place with things in it. A second later the chairs, the table, the car or the whole house grow legs, stand up and run off out of the shot. A second version makes you, or your pet, sprint away at cartoon speed.

The run fast AI effect turns one still photo into a short video where the things in it grow legs and run away: plastic chairs scatter, a table trots off, a wooden hut lifts itself up and walks out of the frame. You need one photo of a room, a yard or a street. Another version makes the person or pet in your photo run fast.

This is the original reel that started the trend. Your video is a new clip made from your photo in the same style, not a copy of these shots. No two runs come out the same.

Which photo works best?

Things version: use one photo of a place with clear, separate things in it: chairs and a table on a porch, a sofa in a living room, a parked car, a shed, a small house, potted plants.

  • Shoot it like the trend: a phone held upright at eye height, the things in the middle of the frame, some empty ground around them so they have room to run.
  • Two to eight things work best. One tiny thing in a big room is hard to see; a hundred things turn into a blur.
  • Daylight and a sharp photo. The video starts from your exact photo, so what you shoot is what you get.
  • People in the photo stay where they are: only the things run.

You or your pet version: one sharp photo of one adult or one pet, the whole body in view, with open space in front of them.

Where did the Run Fast AI trend start?

AI run fast started as a one-photo effect in a popular video editing app. The hashtags #runfastai and #airunfast were made on 18 and 20 September 2025, and by 28 October 2026 #airunfast had 3,493 videos and 203.4 million views. At first the effect made the person in the photo sprint: a how-to by @emma341820 on 24 February 2026, with a baby, a woman and a man suddenly running flat out, reached 1.3 million views.

In October 2026 the run fast ai trend came back with a twist. People fed the effect photos of things, not people. In the clips that went around, the chairs and tables in front of a house walk off on thin legs, a bench on a veranda gets up and leaves, and a wooden hut on posts stands up and walks away. One clip carries a Swahili reply, "bila shaka hii ni sumbawanga" ("no doubt this is Sumbawanga", a town in Tanzania), and the comments came from Uganda, Nigeria and French-speaking West Africa. How-tos by @koroma.zwanzig on 23 and 24 October reached 500,500 and 390,700 views, with the instrumental sound "original sound - William_Fanz", which was in 74,200 videos on 29 October.

  1. The hashtag #runfastai is made on TikTok; #airunfast follows on 20 September and reaches 3,493 videos and 203.4 million views by 28 October 2026.

  3. @koroma.zwanzig posts a how-to with East African village scenes: a bench on a veranda and parked motorbikes run off. It has 500,500 views and 21,700 likes by 28 October. TikTok

  4. A second how-to shows chairs and tables walking away from a house and a wooden hut leaving on its own posts. It has 390,700 views by 28 October. TikTok

  5. The sound "original sound - William_Fanz" is in 74,200 TikTok videos and adds about 100 a day.

Video prompt

The objects in the image grow legs and run away. Keep the photo exactly as it is: the same place, the same light, the same camera angle, and every object with its own shape, color, material and size. 0-1.5 s: nothing moves, like a normal phone video of the place, the camera held still with a slight handheld sway. 1.5-3 s: the main objects in the photo (chairs, tables, benches, a sofa, a bed, a car, a motorbike, a shed, a hut, a house, potted plants, any big thing) suddenly grow pairs of thin, realistic legs under them, or their own legs and posts start to bend like knees, and they stand up and wobble. 3-6 s: they run away fast in different directions with quick, stiff, comical steps, bumping into each other, tipping and wobbling, kicking up a little dust, until they leave the frame or shrink into the distance. A building lifts itself off the ground on its posts or on new legs and walks or runs away, leaving bare ground where it stood. The empty place stays in view at the end. People in the photo, if any, stay where they are with their own faces and do not run. One continuous shot with no cuts, real handheld phone footage, photorealistic, not a cartoon. Audio: the fast patter and clatter of many running wooden and metal feet, scraping and creaking wood, a few thuds, outdoor ambience, no music, no voice. The objects have no faces, no eyes, no mouths and no arms. No text, no logos, no watermark.

The person or the animal in the image suddenly runs very fast. Keep their face, hair, skin tone, body and clothes (or the fur, the face and the markings of an animal) and the whole place exactly as in the photo. 0-1 s: they stand in the pose of the photo, then their eyes go wide in surprise. 1-2 s: they drop into a sprint start and take off. 2-6 s: they sprint toward the camera and past it at comical cartoon speed, legs moving in a fast blur, arms pumping (an animal stretches out at full gallop), hair, ears and clothes flapping in the wind, dust flying up behind them, and they leave the frame; the empty place stays in view for the last second. The same person, or the same animal, with the same face from the first frame to the last, never morphing. One continuous shot with no cuts, real handheld phone footage, photorealistic. Audio: a quick whoosh, fast footsteps or paws, a short surprised gasp, outdoor ambience, no music. Exactly one runner. No text, no logos, no watermark.

How many credits does it cost?

You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. One video is 33 credits, so the smallest one-time pack that covers it is $9.99 for 100 credits, with no subscription. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video.

What happens in the video, second by second?

The video starts on your own photo, then follows the beats of the trend clips:

TimeThings versionYou or your pet version
0-1.5 sYour photo, still, like a normal phone video of the place. You stand in your photo's pose, then look startled.
1.5-3 sThe chairs, the table, the car or the house sprout thin legs and stand up.You drop into a sprint start and take off.
3-6 sThey run off in all directions with quick, stiff steps and leave the place empty. You sprint past the camera at cartoon speed and are gone.

The video is 6 seconds, vertical 9:16, with its own sound: the clatter of many running wooden and metal feet in the Things version, a whoosh and fast footsteps in the run version. The trend's instrumental sound is not on the result: add "original sound - William_Fanz" in the app when you post if you want it.

Which versions can you make?

  • Things: the October 2026 run fast ai trend. Chairs running away, a sofa leaving the living room, a car trotting off the drive, a house running away on its posts. Any big object in your photo can grow legs and run away, the old "leggy run" idea.
  • You or your pet: the first Run Fast effect from 2025 and early 2026. The person or the animal in your photo breaks into a comic sprint and runs off. A dog running fast with AI works the same way: add a photo of your dog or cat.

Both versions start from your photo, so the place and the light stay yours. The run fast ai filter of the editing app works on any photo too, but it gives you no choice of what runs.

How does MakeViral make it, and what does it cost?

Your photo is the first frame of the video. A video model then animates it for 6 seconds: the legs, the stand up and the run, with sound. You write no prompt.

FAQ

Run Fast AI trend questions

What is the run fast AI effect?
It is a one-photo AI effect that turns a still picture into a short video where something runs off. In the October 2026 trend the chairs, tables, cars or houses in the photo grow legs and run away. The first version, from 2025, made the person in the photo sprint.
How do I make the AI run fast effect with my photo?
Press "Create your own", pick Things or You or your pet, add one photo and press Generate. The video starts from your photo, and after a second or two the things grow legs and run away, or you sprint off. You get a 6-second vertical video with sound in a few minutes.
Is there a run fast AI prompt?
The editing app's effect is a closed template and shows no prompt. Our Things prompt starts from a template site's one-line prompt, "The [OBJECT] grows legs and runs away", and adds the beats of the trend clips: the still start, the legs, the run and the empty place at the end. You do not need to write anything.
Can I make chairs running away, or a house running away, with AI?
Yes. That is the Things version. Chairs running away AI clips, a house running away AI clip, furniture running away AI: it all works the same way. Take a photo of the chairs, the house or the room, and the objects running away AI video starts from it. It is an AI running effect for things, not only for people.
Does the run fast effect work on people and pets?
Yes, with the You or your pet version, an AI sprint effect: the person or animal in your photo breaks into a comic sprint and runs off past the camera. Use one adult or one pet per photo.
Where did the run fast ai trend come from?
From a one-photo effect in a video editing app. The hashtags #runfastai and #airunfast were made in September 2025, and #airunfast had 203.4 million views by 28 October 2026. The October 2026 wave with running chairs and huts comes from East Africa: one clip names Sumbawanga, a town in Tanzania.
How long is the video, and does it have sound?
6 seconds, vertical 9:16, MP4: 1080p with Standard and 720p with Best. It has the model's own sound, the patter of running feet and creaking wood, but not the trend's TikTok sound. Add "original sound - William_Fanz" in TikTok when you post if you want it.
Is the AI run fast effect real?
No. The places in the trend clips are real photos, but the legs and the running are AI-made. Keep the platform's AI label on when you post.
Is there a run away AI effect for other objects, like a car or a sofa?
Yes. Any run away AI effect idea works if the thing is in your photo: a car, a sofa, a bed, a fridge, a shed, potted plants. Bigger, separate things run better than small ones in a heap.
Does it cost credits?
Yes. Each video costs credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. Standard costs less than Best. If a video fails, the credits come back.
