The AI chicken dance is the AI hen that took over a Nigerian dance challenge in October 2026: a white hen in a wig and track shorts copies the challenge's fast stepping and kicking moves in a sunny West African village yard. From one photo, MakeViral dresses the hen up as you, with your hair and your clothes. Add two photos for a Duo, or a pet photo for a Pet version.

Which photo works best?

You need one photo for Hen or Pet, two photos for Duo.

  • Hen: a sharp photo of you, from the waist up or full body, in good light. The hen wears your hair as its wig and your clothes, so the hair and the outfit matter more than the face: a bright top, braids, curls, a cap or glasses all make the hen clearly you.
  • Duo: one person per photo. Photo 1 is the first hen, photo 2 is the hen that jumps in. Two different outfits make the joke land.
  • Pet: a sharp photo with the whole animal in view and the face clear. Both dancers take your pet's fur colors and markings from this one photo.
  • No sunglasses unless you want the hen to wear them, no beauty filter, nobody else in the photo.
  • This template is for adults and pets. Use your own photo, an adult who agreed, or your own pet. Never a celebrity or a stranger.

Where did the AI Chicken Dance trend start?

The dance came first. A Nigerian DJ from Badagry posted his beat as an original TikTok sound on 22 July 2026, and Nigerian dancers turned it into a dance challenge: quick stepping kicks with punchy arms. The take that broke out is @bejay304's of 23 September 2026, which passed 2.1 million views, and two more posts passed 1 million views in October. In Nigerian captions and comments, a dancer who nails the steps is a "dancing sticker". By 24 October the sound had 47,300 videos and was still adding about 1,100 a day.

Then came the hen. The AI animal dance account @sinna2.2, which posts to Ghanaian and Ivorian TikTok and had an AI dancing mouse with 15.9 million views in April, gave the challenge to a white hen in a blonde wig, a bare chest and green track shorts. Its first hen on this sound danced on a raft on 2 October. On 19 October it posted the hen in a sunny village yard with a wooden coop, banana trees and a black pot on a wood fire; halfway through, a twin hen jumps in and the two dance side by side. That reel had 802,000 views, 125,500 likes and 12,000 shares by 23 October, and TikTok labels it AI-made.

The comments are the joke: viewers writing in Nigerian Pidgin and French tag the real dancer to come and see his "student", ask where the second hen came from, and warn the hen that December is near and the pot is already on the fire. Copies of the hen with the same hashtags (#hen #aitrend #dancechallenge) followed within a day.

Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same sunny village yard with red-brown earth, the wooden chicken coop with a tin roof, the wooden fence, the banana trees and palm trees under a blue sky, the black cooking pot on a wood fire, the woven baskets and the brown hens that peck in the background, the same low camera, the same vertical framing, timing and moves, and the same cut at about 7.3 s to the wider shot by the coop. The ONLY change: the dancing white hen, and the twin hen that jumps in at about 7.5 s, now have the look of the person in [Image 1]. Both dancers = a white hen that stands upright like a person, with its own hen head, red comb and wattles, yellow beak, white feathers, white wings used like arms, and orange hen legs and feet, exactly as in the video. NEVER a human face, human skin or human hands: it stays a hen with feathers. Each one is dressed up as the person in [Image 1]: a wig that copies the hair of [Image 1] exactly (the same hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any braids, curls, locs, bun, headscarf or cap), any glasses, earrings, beard or moustache from [Image 1], and exactly the clothes from [Image 1]: the same top with the same color, pattern and print, and the same trousers, shorts, skirt or dress, sized for the hen. If [Image 1] does not show the legs, plain shorts that go with that top. NEVER the blonde wig, the bare chest or the green shorts with white stripes of the video unless [Image 1] shows them; short hair or no hair in [Image 1] means short hair or no wig on the hen. The two dancers look exactly the same, in every frame, so friends laugh and instantly see that the hens are the person in [Image 1]: the same hair, the same clothes, the same glasses. The dancers copy the original hens' moves second by second: 0-2 s: side view, quick stepping kicks forward on the red earth, the wings bent in front of the chest like arms with fists, the pot on the fire behind. 2-5 s: fast stepping and kicking, one foot flicks up, the wings punch forward on the beat, while the camera drifts slowly to the right. 5-7.3 s: keeps stepping and kicking, the body turns more to the camera. 7.3-8 s: the cut to the wider shot by the coop: the second dancer jumps in from the right. 8-10 s: the two dance side by side, shoulder to shoulder, the same stepping kicks in sync, while the brown hens peck behind them. One head, two wings and two legs on each dancer, no extra limbs, feet on the ground when they step. The brown hens in the background stay normal brown hens. A warm, sunny, happy look. No text, no captions, no subtitles, no stickers, no emojis, no logos, no watermark.

The ONLY change: the dancing white hen, and the twin hen that jumps in at about 7.5 s, are now the pet in [Image 1]. Both dancers = two identical copies of the pet in [Image 1], in every frame: each one has the same species and breed, head shape, muzzle or beak, eyes, ears, fur or feather colors, fur length, markings and body shape as in [Image 1], with the natural body volume and proportions of that animal: never flattened, squashed, stretched or merged with anything, so its owner instantly recognizes it twice. Both stand upright on their hind legs like little people the whole time. Each wears the green track shorts with white side stripes from the video and nothing else: never the blonde wig, the pet's own fur or feathers show on its head. Never drift back to the white hens of the video: no comb, no beak and no white feathers unless [Image 1] shows them. The two copies copy the original hens' moves second by second: 0-2 s: side view, quick stepping kicks forward on the red earth, the wings bent in front of the chest like arms with fists, the pot on the fire behind. Real animal anatomy: legs and paws (or wings and feet for a bird) of that animal, never human hands, no fingers. One head each, two hind legs and two front legs or wings each, one tail each if the animal has one. Exactly two dancers and the brown hens in the background, no people. A warm, sunny, happy look. What happens in the AI chicken dance video, second by second?

Every version follows our 10 second cut of the viral hen reel, with the same yard, camera and moves:

TimeWhat you see
0-2 sSide view: the hen does quick stepping kicks on the red earth, wings bent like arms with fists, the pot on the fire behind it.
2-5 sFast steps and kicks, one foot flicks up, the wings punch on the beat while the camera drifts right.
5-7 sIt keeps stepping and turns toward the camera.
7-8 sA cut to a wider shot by the coop, and a second hen jumps in from the right.
8-10 sThe two hens dance side by side, in sync, while brown hens peck behind them.

Hen: both hens are dressed up as you, with your hair as the wig and your clothes, so you get the twin moment too. Duo: the first hen is photo 1 and the hen that jumps in is photo 2. Pet: two copies of your pet stand up in the green track shorts and do the dance.

Every version comes with the trend's song, put back on after the run. Press "Create your own" and pick Hen, Duo or Pet; the exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. Every run is a new take, so results differ.

Why is everyone sharing the AI hen dance?

Because the hen dances better than most people. The dance challenge is a real one: Nigerian dancers have posted it tens of thousands of times since September, and fans call the best of them "dancing stickers" (the phrase also names the dancing sticker meme, the little animated dancers people send in chats). Then an AI hen in a wig and track shorts did the same steps, and people loved it. The comments tag the real dancer ("come and see your student"), ask where the second hen came from, and joke that the hen should enjoy itself because December, and the cooking pot, is near.

That is why the AI chicken dance video spread as an AI hen trend across Nigeria, Ghana, Benin and Côte d'Ivoire: it is a viral AI dance challenge, a funny chicken dance trend and an AI animal dance in one clip. The same account made other AI animal dance video hits before, like a dancing mouse in a blonde wig. Our twist: you do not just watch the dancing hen, you become it, in a chicken dance AI clip that is an AI chicken video starring you.

How do I turn me into a chicken for the trend?

Pick Hen and add one clear photo. If you ever wanted to say "turn me into a chicken", this is the funny way: the hen keeps its comb, beak and feathers, but it wears your hairstyle in your hair color, your glasses and your outfit, so your friends see you at once. It is still an AI dancing chicken, not your face on a bird, which is what makes it funny.

For a friend, a partner or a sibling, pick Duo: the hen dance video then stars two of you, the second hen jumping in for the side by side finish. For a pet owner who wants to make my dog dance (or a cat, or a rabbit), pick Pet. All three are dancing chicken AI clips with the trend's own sound, ready for a chicken dance trend TikTok post, Reels or Shorts.

Which sound and hashtags should you post it with?

Your clip comes with the trend's sound, the beat by the Nigerian DJ, so it is ready to post. You can turn the song off on the result screen and add the original TikTok sound yourself when you post. The sound belongs to its owner, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. Music rules differ from platform to platform, so check them before you use the clip in an ad or a paid post.

Hashtags: the AI hen posts use #hen, #aitrend, #dance and #dancechallenge. #hen has 323,400 videos and #aitrend almost 4 million (TikTok, 23 October 2026); #hendance has 504. Keep the platform's AI label on. Want more AI chicken videos funny enough to share, or other animal dances? Try the La Calabaza dance, the AI dancing dog or the Party Viral Dance.
