The barn find AI trend turns a photo of your truck, car or bike into the dusty barn find your kids will stumble on in 20 years: thick dust, spiderwebs and flat tires in an old wooden barn. People post it as "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years". You need one photo.

How to make the Barn Find AI photo on MakeViral

Everything runs in the browser. No editing app, no prompt to write, no watermark.

  1. Add your photo

Press "Create your own" and add your truck or car, the whole vehicle. Take it with the camera or pick it from your library.

  2. Press Generate

The button shows the price. Nano Banana 2 puts your photo into the Barn find scene and makes one 2K photo. You write no prompt.

  3. Download or share

The photo is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 2K image. Download it, share it from your phone, turn it into a video, or find it later in your Library.

Which photo works best?

Upload one sharp photo of the whole vehicle: your truck, car, SUV, van or tractor for Truck or car and Video, your dirt bike, e-bike, motorcycle, moped, scooter or quad for Bike.

  • Show all of it. A front corner view in daylight works best, from the roof to the tires, with the wheels in view.
  • Mods count. The lift, the wheels, the bumpers, racks and light bars carry over, so keep them in the picture.
  • One vehicle, no crowd. Park it away from other cars. People in the photo are left out of the barn.
  • Badges and plates: the barn picture leaves out badges, emblems and the number plate, so you can post it without showing your plate.
  • Use a photo of your own vehicle, or one whose owner said yes.

Where did the Barn Find AI trend start?

The joke took off on TikTok over New Year 2025/26. Truck owners posted two AI pictures: "Barn finds now", an old pickup under dust and spiderwebs, and "Barn finds in 30 years", their own modern truck in the same state. @povertydnr's post of 31 December reached 782,800 views, and @thesilver6.7l's of 2 January reached 764,700 views and 147,900 likes. Asked how he made it, he answered "ChatGPT", and another poster, @coors_3.5l, shared his whole prompt: "put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs". The earliest post of the format we found is a tractor "in 50 years", posted with German hashtags on 18 December 2025.

In July 2026 a wave of moped and dirt bike posts followed, and in September e-bikes ("Typa barn finds our kids will find in 20 years", 136,600 views for @607mo). On 10 October, @diesel_.burnout posted his lifted pickup with the line that names the trend today, "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years", and two days later CapCut template tutorials flooded TikTok under #truckinbarn. The idea is older still: AI "barn finds in the future" series of famous supercars drew millions of views in 2023.

  1. @nerosgarage posts "Barn finds in the Future pt.3", a slideshow of AI pictures of famous supercars as dusty barn finds; it has 8.5 million views by 14 October 2026. TikTok

  2. @johann_fendt_820 posts "Barn find nowadays", an old tractor, next to an AI picture of his modern tractor "in 50 years": the earliest own-vehicle post of the format we found (78,700 views by 14 October 2026). TikTok

  3. @povertydnr posts "Barn finds now" and "Barn finds in 30 years" with two pickups; it passes 782,800 views and 123,300 likes, the most viewed post of the trend we found. TikTok

  4. @coors_3.5l posts his truck as a barn find "in 30 years" and answers how he made it: "chat gpt just said put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs". TikTok

  5. @diesel_.burnout posts his lifted pickup in a barn with the line "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years" (37,000 views and 4,891 likes by 14 October). TikTok

  6. The #truckinbarn hashtag starts, and CapCut template tutorials for the "truck in barn trend" spread on TikTok; the tag has 58 videos by 14 October. TikTok

Use the uploaded image as the base. Put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs: my truck is the vehicle in the uploaded image, whatever kind it is (a pickup, a car, an SUV, a van or a tractor). Restage the exact vehicle from the uploaded image as a barn find, 20 years from now: parked in a dusty wooden barn under a thick layer of dust, warm sunbeams cutting through gaps in the wooden slats, straw on the floor, abandoned-Americana aesthetic, fine film grain. The vehicle's body, wheels and paint remain recognizable beneath the dust. Documentary photography. It has sat untouched for 20 years: thick grey-brown dust and dried dirt on the hood, the roof and the windows, so the glass is cloudy; dusty spiderwebs hanging from the mirrors, the wheels, the bumpers and the roof beams; dry leaves and loose straw on the hood and the roof; faded paint with a few small rust spots; cloudy headlights; tires a little flat, sunk into the dirt floor. It is still clearly the same vehicle as in the photo, so the owner knows it at once: the same body shape and size, cab, bed or trunk, doors, paint color under the dust, grille shape, headlights, wheels and tires, ride height or lift, bumpers, racks, light bars and every other part it has. Never a different or older model, never restored or shiny. The barn: weathered vertical wooden boards with thin gaps of daylight, heavy roof beams with a few broken boards and holes in the roof, a hay bale, an old rusty barrel and an old wagon wheel at the sides, dust floating in the beams of light, warm brown tones and deep shadows. The vehicle stands in the middle of the barn in a front three-quarter view, the whole vehicle in frame from the roof to the tires, in the lower half of the picture, with the camera at headlight height and the roof beams and the light above it. Photorealistic, a real photo, not CGI, not a painting. Vertical 9:16. No people and no human faces anywhere in the picture. No badges, emblems or lettering on the vehicle and no readable number plate, even if the photo shows them. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark.

Step 2 · Video prompt

A slow, quiet, cinematic push-in inside an old wooden barn, one continuous shot on film. Keep the dusty vehicle exactly as in the image: the same shape, paint, dust, spiderwebs, wheels and place. It never moves, its doors stay closed and no lights come on. The camera glides slowly and smoothly straight toward the front of the vehicle at headlight height for the whole clip and ends a little closer, with the whole vehicle still in frame. Dust drifts slowly through the warm beams of sunlight, the spiderwebs sway a little in a light draft, a few bits of straw fall slowly from the roof beams, and a small bird flies out through a hole in the roof. No cuts. Audio: original quiet barn sounds: the wind outside, old wood creaking, a bird's wings, no music. No people, no text, no logos, no badges, no number plate.

How many credits does it cost?

You pay per photo in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers one 2K photo, charged once. One photo is 3 credits, so the smallest one-time pack that covers it is $9.99 for 100 credits, with no subscription. A smaller 1K photo costs less if you run the prompt by hand in AI Photo.

What does the barn find AI keep, and what does it change?

The trend works because the vehicle is clearly yours, just 20 years older. The commenters under the big posts name the exact model and year, so the picture has to keep the details owners know.

Stays from your photoChanges after 20 years in the barn
The model, body shape, cab, bed or trunkA thick coat of grey-brown dust and dried dirt
The paint color, under the dustFaded paint with a few small rust spots

It leaves out people, badges, emblems and the number plate.

How MakeViral makes it: your photo goes to Nano Banana 2, Google's image model. The prompt starts with the words a creator of the first wave shared for his ChatGPT version, "put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs", then adds the barn find scene and the look of the trend's most viewed pictures. You get one 2K vertical picture (9:16) with no text and no watermark. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button, and every run ages your vehicle a little differently.

Truck or car, Bike or Video: which version should you pick?

All three take one photo of your vehicle.

  • Truck or car is the trend as most people post it: your pickup, car, SUV, van or tractor parked in the middle of an old barn, front corner to the camera, sunbeams through the boards. One 2K picture.
  • Bike is for dirt bikes, e-bikes, motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and quads. Your bike stands on its kickstand by the barn wall, under spiderwebs. Bikes carried the trend in summer 2026: @607mo's e-bike post reached 136,600 views, the most viewed bike post we found.
  • Video makes the Truck or car picture first, then an 8-second clip: the camera slowly moves in while dust drifts through the light, with quiet barn sounds. Standard uses Kling 3.0; Best uses Seedance 2.5 and costs more.

Under any finished picture you can also press "Make it a video" and write your own scene.

How do you post it like the trend?

The trend has three formats. Pick the one you like.

  • Now vs later (the original): a two-photo carousel. Slide 1 says "Barn finds now" over an old classic, for example your dad's old truck; slide 2 says "Barn finds in 30 years" over your own vehicle. This is how the New Year 2026 posts passed 750,000 views.
  • What my kids will find: one picture with the text "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years". This is the October 2026 wave.
  • Before and after: your vehicle as it is today, then the barn find.

Sound: the New Year posts used a guitar "original sound" by jacal, and the October truck posts an "original sound" by Logan. Tap the sound on any trend post to use it.

Hashtags: #barnfind (83,735 TikTok videos on 14 October 2026), #truckinbarn (the October tag) and #barnfindtrend. Keep the platform's AI label on, like most of the trend's top posts, so nobody thinks your truck is really rotting in a barn.

What goes wrong with a barn find picture, and how do you fix it?

What goes wrongWhat our prompt does, and what you can do
It comes out as a different or older modelThe prompt keeps the body, grille, headlights and wheels from your photo and bans an older model. Use a sharp photo of the whole vehicle from the front corner, and run it again if needed
Your lift, wheels or racks are goneThey are on the keep list. Make sure the photo shows them
It looks too clean, or restoredThe prompt asks for 20 years of thick dust, spiderwebs and flat tires. Run it again: each run ages it a little differently
A badge or the plate is missingOn purpose: the picture leaves out badges, emblems and the plate
Someone from the photo shows upThe prompt leaves people out. A photo of the vehicle alone works best
In the video, the vehicle moves or a light comes onThe video prompt keeps it parked with the doors closed. Run it again or pick Best

If a run fails, the credits come back.

FAQ

Barn Find AI trend questions

What is the barn find AI trend?
It is a TikTok photo trend: an AI picture shows your own truck, car or bike as a dusty barn find 20 or 30 years from now, under dust and spiderwebs in an old barn. It started at New Year 2026 as "Barn finds now" vs "Barn finds in 30 years" and came back in October 2026 as "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years".
How do I do the "what my kids are gonna find in the barn" trend?
Press "Create your own", pick Truck or car, Bike or Video, add one photo of your vehicle and press Generate. MakeViral parks it in an old barn 20 years from now and puts the picture in your Library. Then add the line "What my kids are gonna find in the barn in 20 years" as text when you post it. You need no CapCut template, no ChatGPT and no prompt.
What prompt did the creators use?
The first wave made its pictures with ChatGPT. One of the creators, @coors_3.5l, shared what he typed: "put my truck in an old barn with spiderwebs". Our prompt starts with those words and adds the barn find scene and the look of the trend's most viewed pictures: thick dust, spiderwebs, flat tires and sunbeams through the boards.
Will it still look like my truck?
That is the point of the trend, and the prompt is written for it. It keeps the body shape, the paint color under the dust, the grille shape, the headlights, the wheels, the lift and add-ons like racks and light bars. A sharp photo of the whole vehicle from the front corner gives the best match.
Does it work for cars, SUVs, tractors and motorcycles?
Yes. Truck or car takes any car, SUV, van, pickup or tractor; the very first posts of the trend were tractors. Bike takes dirt bikes, e-bikes, motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and quads.
Why are the badges and the number plate gone?
The picture leaves out badges, emblems, lettering and the number plate on purpose. Your vehicle stays recognizable by its shape, color, wheels and mods, and you can post the picture without showing your plate to strangers.
Can I make it a video?
Yes. Pick Video: it makes the barn find picture first, then an 8-second clip where the camera slowly moves in on your dusty vehicle while dust drifts through the sunbeams, with quiet barn sounds. The video costs more credits than the picture.
Is there a CapCut template for the barn find trend?
Yes, CapCut templates for the "truck in barn" trend spread on TikTok from 12 October 2026. MakeViral has no link to CapCut. Here you need no app and no template: one photo, and the picture lands in your Library.
Should I say it is AI when I post it?
Yes. Every picture of this trend is AI-made, and most of its top posts carry TikTok's AI label. Keep TikTok's AI label on, so nobody thinks your truck really sits in a barn.
Can I use a photo of someone else's car?
Use a photo of your own vehicle, or one whose owner said yes. The trend is about what your kids will find in your barn, so your own ride makes the joke work.
Does the barn find AI cost credits?
Yes. A picture costs a few credits, far fewer than a video. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything, and if a run fails, the credits come back.
Is my photo private?
Yes. MakeViral does not post your photo or the result anywhere or show them to other users. The picture goes to your private Library, and you can delete it there at any time.
