An AI UGC creator is a generated person you cast once and then reuse. In MakeViral a creator is four things saved together: a name, a written description, a vertical portrait and a voice. You build one from a preset, from your own description, or from a face photo you upload.

Pick a preset, describe a person in words, or upload a face photo. The portrait, the name and the voice save together, so one creator can front a whole campaign.

**Start now:** [Cast a creator](https://www.makeviral.ai/influencer) (opens the MakeViral app). Part of the [AI Influencer Generator](https://www.makeviral.ai/ai-influencer-generator).

## What is an AI UGC creator?

An AI UGC creator, sometimes called an AI actor or an AI video actor, is a synthetic person who fronts your short-form ads. Instead of briefing a real creator and waiting for a delivery, you describe the person you want and generate the portrait, then point scripts at it.

The important word is saved. On the [AI creator surface](https://www.makeviral.ai/influencer) a creator is a record, not a one-off render:

- **A name**, so you can tell your cast apart six weeks later.
- **A description**, the words that produced the portrait and that you can edit to make a variant.
- **A 9:16 portrait**, generated vertical because that is the only shape the ads use.
- **A voice**, which reads every script this creator ever performs and drives the lip sync on the [AI avatar video generator](https://www.makeviral.ai/tools/ai-avatar-video-generator).

That record is what makes the difference between a novelty and a working process. A tool that generates a new stranger for every video hands you a set of ads with nothing in common. A saved creator hands you a campaign.

## Three ways to cast one

**1. Pick a preset.** There are 12, and they span ages 22 to 55, a mix of genders and ethnicities, and six kinds of setting. Fastest route, and the right one for a first test, because the framing and lighting are already tuned for a selfie shot.

**2. Describe the person.** Type what you want in plain words. Use this when the preset list does not contain your buyer.

**3. Upload a face photo.** The portrait is built from the face you provide. Use it only for a face you have the right to use, which in practice means your own, an employee who agreed in writing, or a licensed image.

The portrait renders 9:16 and costs 2 credits on Nano Banana 2 or 1 credit on Z-Image. The setting matters more than most people expect, because it sets what the ad is allowed to be about:

| Setting | What it reads as | What it sells |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | A morning, a household, something ordinary | Supplements, coffee, food, cleaning |
| Car | The parked-car confession, the most native UGC frame there is | Apps, services, any rant-shaped hook |
| Desk | Work and competence | SaaS, courses, productivity tools |
| Gym | Effort and progress | Fitness apps, protein, apparel |
| Bathroom mirror | A routine, close to the skin | Skincare, haircare, oral care |
| Outdoors | Daylight and movement | Travel, pet products, outdoor gear |

Match the setting to the product before you match the face to the product. A skincare pitch delivered at a desk fights the frame the whole way through.

## Why one face across a campaign beats a new face every ad

It is tempting to generate a new person per ad because the generation is cheap. Resist it, for four reasons.

**Recognition compounds.** A face the viewer has met before is a face they do not have to place again, so the second ad starts from further along than the first did. Recasting every week gives up whatever familiarity the last ad built.

**Testing needs one variable.** If the hook changes and the face changes, you cannot tell which one moved the number. Fix the creator, fix the product still, change only the first line. That is the whole discipline, and the [AI UGC ad generator page](https://www.makeviral.ai/tools/ai-ugc-ad-generator) sets out the hook test in full.

**Casting is paid once.** The portrait costs 2 credits. Every video after it spends credits on the video, not on the person.

**A stable cast is easier to keep honest.** One named persona that you describe consistently is simpler to disclose and label than a rotating crowd of invented customers.

The practical shape is a cast of three to five: one per audience, not one per ad. A gym creator for the fitness angle, a desk creator for the work angle, a kitchen creator for the household angle, and you are covered for a quarter.

## How do you write a creator description that renders well?

Vague descriptions produce a stock-photo face in a nowhere room. Specific ones produce somebody who looks like a person filming on a phone. Cover six things, in this order.

| What to specify | Why it matters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Age and gender | Sets who the ad is talking to | "Woman, 34" |
| Ethnicity | Say it plainly or the model will pick for you | "Black" |
| Setting | Decides what the ad can be about | "driver's seat of a parked car" |
| Light | The single biggest lever on whether it looks real | "daylight through the windshield" |
| Wardrobe | Plain beats styled. Styled reads as an ad | "plain gray sweatshirt" |
| Framing and mood | UGC is arm's length, not a headshot | "phone at arm's length, warm and unhurried" |

Three descriptions that work, written out in full:

1. "Woman, 34, Black, in the driver's seat of a parked car, daylight through the windshield, plain gray sweatshirt, phone held at arm's length, warm and unhurried."
2. "Man, 27, South Asian, standing at a kitchen counter in the morning, white t-shirt, window light from the left, slightly rushed, caught mid-sentence."
3. "Woman, 52, white, at a home desk with a bookshelf behind her, reading glasses pushed up, soft lamp light, calm and direct."

Two things to leave out. Do not name a real person, a celebrity or a public figure. Do not describe a uniform that implies a credential the script does not support, so no lab coats, no scrubs, no badges.

## Three scripts for one creator across three products

A cast earns its keep when the same face carries several products. Thirty-five words is about fifteen seconds, which is the ceiling on one talking generation, so each script below sits inside that. Note the voice: these are pitches, not testimonials.

### 1. Protein coffee, gym creator, 35 words

- **Hook, 0 to 3 seconds:** "Coffee and a protein shake, in one cup."
- **Body, 3 to 12 seconds:** "Twenty grams of protein per sachet, no chalky aftertaste, mixes cold in a shaker. Built for the gap between gym and work."
- **Call to action, 12 to 15 seconds:** "First tin is linked here."

### 2. Resume builder app, desk creator, 35 words

- **Hook:** "Recruiters spend seconds on a resume before they scroll."
- **Body:** "This app rewrites yours for the job you paste in, checks it against the screening software, and exports a clean PDF."
- **Call to action:** "Build one from the link."

### 3. Car detailing kit, car creator, 33 words

- **Hook:** "Your car interior looks worse than the outside."
- **Body:** "This kit has the brush, the foam and the cloth for vents, screens and seats. Everything fits in the door pocket."
- **Call to action:** "Kit is linked below."

The app will also draft a script from the product name, the description and the angle you pick, so you can start from a draft and cut it back to 35 words. [How to make UGC ads with AI](https://www.makeviral.ai/blog/how-to-make-ugc-ads-with-ai) walks through the whole sequence.

## What a generated creator must not say

Your creator did not buy the product, did not use it, and does not exist. That is not a problem as long as the script never pretends otherwise.

- **Write a pitch, not a testimonial.** "Twenty grams of protein per sachet" is a fact about the product. "It changed my mornings" is a claim by a person who is not real.
- **Keep claims to what the product does.** Specifications, ingredients, what is in the box, what it replaces, what it costs. No invented results, no star ratings on screen, no numbers you cannot source.
- **Do not imply a credential.** A generated person in a white coat saying "as a dermatologist" is a different and worse problem than a plain pitch.
- **Check the disclosure rules for the platform you are buying on, before the ad runs.** They change, and they differ by country.

Two points verified live on 17 September 2026:

- The FTC's [final rule banning fake reviews and testimonials](https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2024/08/federal-trade-commission-announces-final-rule-banning-fake-reviews-testimonials), announced August 2024, covers reviews and testimonials that "misrepresent that they are by someone who does not exist, such as AI-generated fake reviews", and lets the FTC seek civil penalties against knowing violators.
- TikTok's [announcement of AI content labels](https://newsroom.tiktok.com/en-us/new-labels-for-disclosing-ai-generated-content), published 19 September 2023, says TikTok "requires people to label AI-generated content that contains realistic images, audio or video, in order to help viewers contextualize the video".

## Do you need a creator at all, or a faceless ad?

MakeViral has two wings. The [faceless UGC generator](https://www.makeviral.ai/tools/ugc-video-generator) makes UGC-styled ads with nobody on camera. This wing puts a person in frame. They suit different products.

| | Faceless UGC | An AI creator |
|---|---|---|
| On screen | Product visuals, captions, gameplay | A person you cast |
| Voice | AI voiceover over the visuals | The creator's voice, lip-synced to the portrait |
| Length | 6 to 90 seconds | 3 to 15 seconds per talking clip |
| Cost per video | 10 credits | 2 credits for the portrait, then 30 for a 15-second talking clip |
| Strong for | Story formats, chat ads, explainers, memes | First-person pitches, demos, objection handling |
| Weak for | Anything that needs a human face in frame one | Long arguments and anything over 15 seconds in one clip |

A rough rule: if the product is visual and the argument is long, go faceless. If the argument is short and personal, cast a creator. Both wings sit under the [AI influencer generator hub](https://www.makeviral.ai/ai-influencer-generator), and the [UGC ads index](https://www.makeviral.ai/ugc-ads) has the angle library for each. For category specifics, [fitness UGC ads](https://www.makeviral.ai/ugc-ads/fitness) and [mobile app UGC ads](https://www.makeviral.ai/ugc-ads/mobile-apps) are the two that lean hardest on a face. If you are comparing products rather than wings, the [Arcads alternatives page](https://www.makeviral.ai/alternatives/arcads-ai) is the honest version of that shortlist.

## What does a cast cost to build and run?

Casting is the cheap part. Talking is where the credits go. A credit is about $0.071 on the $49.99 plan for 700 credits, and about $0.067 on the $199.99 plan for 3,000 credits, both on the [pricing page](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing).

| Action | Credits | $49.99 plan | $199.99 plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| One portrait, Nano Banana 2 | 2 | $0.14 | $0.13 |
| One portrait, Z-Image | 1 | $0.07 | $0.07 |
| A cast of five, Nano Banana 2 | 10 | $0.71 | $0.67 |
| All 12 presets rendered on Z-Image | 12 | $0.86 | $0.80 |
| Product in hand still | 2 | $0.14 | $0.13 |
| 8-second animation, Veo 3.1 Lite 720p | 6 | $0.43 | $0.40 |
| 15-second talking clip, Kling Avatar 720p | 30 | $2.14 | $2.00 |

### The worked example

A 15-second talking ad on Kling Avatar 720p bills 2 credits per second of speech, so 15 x 2 = 30 credits. Add the 2-credit portrait the first time you use that creator and the first ad is 32 credits. On the $49.99 plan that is about $2.14, and on the $199.99 plan about $2.00.

Every ad after the first is 30 credits, because the creator is already cast. Build the cast once, spend the rest on scripts. Billing follows the real audio length, not your estimate, so a script that voices at 14 seconds costs 28 credits.

If the ad needs your product in frame rather than a talking head, the [AI product video generator](https://www.makeviral.ai/tools/ai-product-video-generator) covers the still and its animation. For the organic side of the same cast, [faceless TikTok ideas](https://www.makeviral.ai/blog/faceless-tiktok-ideas) covers what to post between the ads.

## What the ai ugc creator does for you

- **A creator is a saved record.** A name, a description, a 9:16 portrait and a voice, stored together and reused by every later video.
- **Three casting routes.** Twelve presets across ages 22 to 55, your own written description, or a face photo you upload.
- **Six settings that change the pitch.** Kitchen, car, desk, gym, bathroom mirror and outdoors. Match the room to the product, not just the face.
- **One face, many products.** The same creator can front a supplement, an app and a detailing kit without recasting or repaying.
- **The voice comes with the face.** Each creator carries a voice, so every script that creator reads sounds like the same person.

## How it works

1. **Choose a preset or describe a person.** Age, gender, ethnicity, setting, light and wardrobe. Plain clothes and arm's length framing read as real.
2. **Generate the portrait.** It renders 9:16 for 2 credits on Nano Banana 2 or 1 credit on Z-Image, then saves with a name and a voice.
3. **Point scripts at the creator.** Product in hand, an 8-second animation, a talking clip of up to 15 seconds, or a hook plus demo stitch.

## Who it is for

## Frequently asked questions

### What is an AI UGC creator?

It is a generated person who fronts your short-form ads, sometimes called an AI actor or an AI video actor. In MakeViral it is saved as a record: a name, a written description, a 9:16 portrait and a voice. You cast it once and reuse it for every video after that.

### How do I make one?

Three routes. Pick one of 12 presets, which span ages 22 to 55 and six settings. Describe the person yourself in plain words. Or upload a face photo and build the portrait from it. The portrait renders vertical for 2 credits on Nano Banana 2, or 1 credit on Z-Image.

### Should I use a different creator for every ad?

No. Cast three to five, one per audience, and keep each one fixed. A returning face is one the viewer does not have to place again, and a fixed creator lets you test hooks with one variable instead of two. Recasting per ad also pays for the portrait again every time.

### Can I upload my own face?

Yes, the third casting route builds the portrait from a face photo you upload. Only use a face you have the right to use: your own, an employee who agreed in writing, or a licensed image. Do not describe or upload a celebrity or any public figure.

### Can my AI creator say they used the product?

No. The person does not exist and never used it, so write the script as a pitch about the product rather than a testimonial. Stick to specifications, ingredients and what is in the box, and check the current disclosure rules for the platform you are buying on before the ad runs.

### How long can the creator talk for?

One talking generation runs 3 to 15 seconds, and 15 seconds is a hard ceiling. That is about 35 words. A 30-second ad is two clips generated separately and joined. Kling Avatar at 720p bills 2 credits per second of speech, so 15 seconds costs 30 credits.

### Does the creator hold my actual product?

Yes, in the product-in-hand mode. You upload a product image and the creator holds that exact item in a UGC selfie frame for 2 credits. You can then animate the still for 8 seconds at 720p on Veo 3.1 Lite for 6 credits, with subtle hand motion and no speech.

### What does a whole cast cost?

Five creators on Nano Banana 2 is 10 credits, about $0.71 on the $49.99 plan for 700 credits. Rendering all 12 presets on Z-Image is 12 credits, about $0.86. Casting is the cheap part: a single 15-second talking clip costs three times as much as the whole cast.
