Drake released "Toosie Slide" on 3 April 2020, at the start of the lockdowns, with a dance built for TikTok. The song is named after the Atlanta dancer Toosie, who made the routine with Hiii Key and Ayo & Teo. The lyrics are the dance steps ("right foot up, left foot slide"), and the challenge was already on TikTok on 31 March 2020, before the release. In the music video, Drake does the slide alone in his Toronto mansion, in dark clothes, black gloves and a face covering, with a grand piano in the living room. The toosie slide challenge became one of the biggest TikTok dances of 2020. On 14 April 2020, the singer and actor NDJ (@nathandavisjrndj) posted his take in a hotel hallway: 4.25 million views. The hashtag #toosieslide holds 619,882 videos and 6.93 billion views (24 October 2026), and the slide is also a Fortnite emote. The AI wave is new. On 23 October 2026, an AI clip of a TV character doing the Toosie Slide in a mansion went around Instagram, and two AI video sites added a Toosie Slide template the same day. The demand is still small: TikTok shows no AI tutorial yet. ### Toosie Slide trend timeline - **2020-03-31**: The first Toosie Slide challenge reels appear on TikTok, before the song is out (@thecolberttwins, 2.2 million views). The video prompt animates your own photo directly. To change it, copy it and edit it in AI Video. #### Variant: Mansion Settings: 1 photo (you, face clear) · kling-3-motion · 14 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 59 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: kling-3-motion, 14 s, 720p, 9:16, sound off. The video prompt: ```text Replace the character in the video with the person from the uploaded image. Keep actions, poses, facial expressions, camera movement and rhythm. Preserve the person's original facial features, maintain character consistency, no distortion, no glitches, no artifacts. The person dances in the marble mansion hall from the uploaded image, beside the black grand piano, in the slim black suit, the pale grey shirt, the dark tie, the black shoes and the black gloves from the uploaded image, with the gloves on both hands the whole time, and keeps their own hair from the uploaded image. Not the black jacket, the black jeans, the red sneakers or the silver chain of the young man in the video, and not his short curly black hair. Follow the young man's moves and timing exactly, the slide dance step by step on the beat: the right foot lifts and the left foot slides back, then the left foot lifts and the right foot slides back, the arms swung out wide and loose, a smooth lean to the side, a quick dip, then a confident swagger toward the camera with a big smile. Keep the whole body in view with natural balance and stable ground contact, smooth gliding steps, no foot sliding through the floor. Exactly one person, no other people. One continuous shot. No text, no captions, no logos. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/toosie-slide-ai-trend/create #### Variant: Your place Settings: 1 photo (you, head to feet, standing) · kling-3-motion · 14 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 57 credits in one tap. The person dances in the place from the uploaded image, in the clothes and shoes from the uploaded image, and keeps their own hair from the uploaded image. Not the black jacket, the black jeans, the red sneakers or the silver chain of the young man in the video unless the uploaded image shows them, and not his short curly black hair. Keep the whole body in view with natural balance and stable ground contact, smooth gliding steps. Exactly one person, no other people. One continuous shot. No text, no captions, no logos. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/toosie-slide-ai-trend/create?variant=place ### Which photo works best? **Mansion:** one sharp photo of you, face to the camera, eyes visible. A selfie works: the first picture dresses you in the black suit, the tie and the gloves and stands you in the hall, head to shoes. **Your place:** one photo where you stand, head to feet, with room around you. The dance plays in that place and in those clothes, so a sitting or waist-up photo gives a weak dance. No sunglasses, masks or beauty filters. Only adults who agreed to be in the video. ## How many credits does it cost? You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video. | Video model | Settings | Credits | | --- | --- | --- | | Kling 3.0 Motion Control (this template) | 14 s, 720p, copies the moves of the trend clip, one tap | 59 | Credits come with a plan; see [pricing](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing). A failed video gives its credits back. ## What happens in a Toosie Slide AI video? | | Mansion (default) | Your place | |---|---|---| | Photo | 1: you, face clear | 1: you, standing, head to feet | | Where | A marble mansion hall at night, a black grand piano, sheer curtains | The place in your photo | | What you wear | A slim black suit, a pale grey shirt, a dark tie, black gloves | Your own clothes | | The moves | The real 2020 routine: right foot up, left foot slide, the other side, the arms out, the lean, the dip and a swagger to the camera | The same | | Length | 14 s, vertical 9:16 | 14 s, vertical 9:16 | | Sound | The Toosie Slide song from the reel, put back on after the run | The same | Both versions take the moves of one viral Toosie Slide reel, not the dancer: the AI plays them with you. That is why the steps match the lyrics, "right foot up, left foot slide", like the toosie slide dance tiktok clips of 2020. The videos come from the best AI video models available. Press "Create your own" and pick a version; the exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. ## The Toosie Slide dance steps, and who made the Toosie Slide dance The toosie slide dance steps follow the words of the song: lift the right foot, slide the left foot back; lift the left foot, slide the right foot back; then the arms swing out, a lean, a dip and a cool walk. It is a moonwalk-style slide, simple enough for anyone, and that made it the toosie slide challenge of 2020 and the toosie slide tiktok trend people still post in 2026. Who made the Toosie Slide dance? The Atlanta dancer Toosie, with Hiii Key and Ayo & Teo, at Drake's request; the song carries Toosie's name, and Drake's own toosie slide music video shows the slide in his mansion. You do not need a toosie slide dance tutorial here: the AI copies every toosie slide dance move from the reel. The drake toosie slide trend of 2026 is that same dance with an AI face in a suit, also spelled tootsie slide in many posts. ## What goes wrong, and how do you fix it? | Problem | Fix | |---|---| | The face does not look like you | Use a sharp, front-facing photo with the face big and in good light, and run it again. | | The gloves drop off in a fast move | The prompt keeps them on, but they can slip. Run it again. | | Red sneakers or a chain show up | They come from the reel's dancer and are banned in the prompt. Run it again. | | The dance looks weak in Your place | The video keeps your photo's frame. Use a standing, full-body photo with room around you, or pick Mansion. | | Arms or hands blur | Fast swings can blur. Run it again with a sharper photo. | | The video model refuses a photo | Some photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo. | ## Toosie Slide trend questions ### What is the Toosie Slide AI trend? The toosie slide ai trend puts a face into the Toosie Slide dance: a dancer in a dark suit and gloves does the slide next to a grand piano in a mansion, like Drake's 2020 music video. It started on 23 October 2026 with an AI clip of a TV character on Instagram. MakeViral makes the same kind of toosie slide ai video with your own face, from one photo. ### How do I make a Toosie Slide AI video? Press "Create your own", pick Mansion (one clear photo of your face) or Your place (one standing, full-body photo), and press Generate; the button shows the price first. You get a 14-second vertical toosie slide dance video with the song. No editing, no prompt and no dance skills needed. ### What is the Toosie Slide challenge on TikTok? The toosie slide challenge, or toosie challenge, is the TikTok dance to Drake's "Toosie Slide" from April 2020: right foot up, left foot slide, then the other side. The toosie slide challenge tiktok wave started on 31 March 2020, and #toosieslide holds 619,882 videos and 6.93 billion views (24 October 2026). The toosie slide dance challenge still gets new posts in 2026, and the toosie slide dance trend now has an AI version. ### What does "Toosie Slide" mean? The toosie slide meaning is simple: the slide is named after Toosie, the Atlanta dancer who made the routine, and the lyrics tell you the steps. The toosie slide drake song and its dance came out together, so the name means both. It is also a Fortnite emote: the toosie slide fortnite emote uses the same steps. ### Is this Drake's music video with my face? No. We never use Drake's video, face or likeness, and our room is a generic marble mansion hall, not his house. The moves come from a creator's own 2020 Toosie Slide reel, and only the moves reach your video. Your clip comes with the same 14 seconds of the song from that reel; the song belongs to its owners, MakeViral gives you no rights to it, and you can turn it off on the result screen. Check the platform's music rules before you use the clip in an ad. ### Can I put my dog or cat in the Toosie Slide? Not yet. The model that copies the dance moves takes people only, and no pet reel of the Toosie Slide exists for us to copy. For a dancing pet, try the La Calabaza dance or the Can Can dance. ### Which hashtags fit a Toosie Slide AI video? #toosieslide (619,882 videos), #toosieslidechallenge (71,615 videos) and the new #toosieslideai for the AI version, plus the ai dance trend tags. Keep the platform's AI label on. A toosie slide tiktok post works best with the song on. ### How long is the video, and what do I get? About 14 seconds, vertical 9:16 MP4 at 720p, with the song and no watermark. It works as an ai dance video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. ## Other AI video templates and tools - [Popstar AI: Star in the Popstar Music Video From One Photo](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/popstar-ai-trend): Walk down the wood-panelled hallway of a mansion toward the camera, a champagne bottle in your hand, arms swinging wide, rapping straight into the lens.
