Tecktonik, also called electro dance, took shape at the Metropolis club in Rungis, south of Paris, where Cyril Blanc and Alexandre Barouzdin ran "Tecktonik Killer" nights from 2002. The arm-heavy style spread online and at the Paris Techno Parade in 2007, then faded after Metropolis ended those nights in late 2008. In February 2026 the Russian dancer Sasha Cheba, @cheba_man on TikTok, began posting the old moves to 2000s electro hits. On 24 May 2026 he posted "я чеба мэн" ("I'm Cheba Man"): he dances on a small stage under string lights, in red light, to Benny Benassi's 2003 track "Love Is Gonna Save Us", while the crowd films him. By 12 October it had 17 million views and 1.9 million likes. Spinnin' Records shared him on 30 May, and US Google searches for "tecktonik dance" reached 2,400 a month in May and June, up from 320 in September 2025. AI versions followed: on 14 June @ashanolas made her Abyssinian cat do the dance on the same kind of stage, and in October AI templates of the stage dance spread on CapCut and Higgsfield. This page copies Cheba Man's reel and the cat reel. ### Tecktonik Dance trend timeline - **2002**: Cyril Blanc and Alexandre Barouzdin start the "Tecktonik Killer" nights at the Metropolis club in Rungis, south of Paris, where the electro dance takes shape. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library. ### The by-hand way, with the exact prompts The one-tap flow runs this prompt for you. The video prompt animates your own photo directly. To change it, copy it and edit it in AI Video. #### Variant: Human Settings: 1 photo (your photo) · Seedance 2.0 Mini · 15 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 48 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: Seedance 2.0 Mini, 15 s, 720p, 9:16, sound off. The video prompt: ```text [Video 1] is a motion guide only. Copy its camera moves, timing and dance moves, the outdoor party at night with rows of warm string lights overhead, the dark building behind, the low red stage light and the crowd in front of the stage that raises hands and films with phones, filmed with a handheld phone camera from inside the crowd. Do NOT copy the young man in [Video 1]: not his face, light hair, dark sunglasses, striped T-shirt or baggy light trousers. Replace him completely. The dancer is the one in [Image 1]. Keep the face, hair, skin tone, body and clothes from [Image 1] in every shot, also when the arms pass in front of the face, with no sunglasses and no striped T-shirt unless [Image 1] has them. The dancer stands alone on a small stage above the crowd and does a 2000s electro club dance on the beat, all sharp arm moves: arms spread wide, hands to the head, both arms straight up, arms crossed in front of the chest and rolled past the face, quick snaps to the side, palms up, then side steps with one arm swinging over the head. If [Image 1] shows an animal, the dancer is that animal, standing upright on its hind legs and doing the same moves. Photorealistic, like a real phone video at a night party. One continuous shot. No text, no subtitles, no logos, no other dancers on the stage. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/tecktonik-dance-ai-trend/create #### Variant: Pet Settings: 1 photo (your pet) · Seedance 2.0 Mini · 15 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 48 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: Seedance 2.0 Mini, 15 s, 720p, 9:16, sound off. The video prompt: ```text [Video 1] is a motion guide only. Copy its camera moves, timing and dance moves, the stage at night under a row of warm string lights, the deep red light, the DJ decks at the front of the stage and the two dancers in sunglasses behind who dance along, filmed with a handheld phone camera from below the stage. Do NOT copy the cat in [Video 1]: not its ginger fur, face or big ears. Replace it completely. The dancer is the pet in [Image 1], standing upright on its hind legs like a person the whole time. Keep the face, fur colors, markings, ears and body from [Image 1] in every shot. The pet does a 2000s electro club dance on the beat, all sharp front-leg moves: front paws crossed at the chest, both paws straight up, sharp waves and crosses in front of the face, front legs spread wide, paws to the head, then side steps across the stage. Photorealistic, like a real phone video at a night party. One continuous shot. No text, no letters, no brand names on the DJ decks, no logos, no watermark, no extra animals. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/tecktonik-dance-ai-trend/create?variant=pet ### Which photo works best? You need **one photo**: of yourself for Human, of your pet for Pet. - **Human:** full body or waist up, with the face sharp and in good light. The stage is filmed from the crowd, so a clear face matters more than a close-up. Your outfit comes from the photo: wear what you want to dance in. - No sunglasses, no cap that hides the face and no beauty filter. The dancer in the reel wears sunglasses; the prompts leave them out unless your photo has them. - **Pet:** a sharp photo of the whole animal, ears to paws. Fur colors and markings come from the photo. A cat looks closest to the reel; a dog stands upright for the same moves. - Any background works: the reel sets the stage. - Use a photo of yourself, of an adult who agreed, or of your own pet. Never a celebrity or a stranger. ## How many credits does it cost? You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video. | Video model | Settings | Credits | | --- | --- | --- | | Seedance 2.0 Mini (this template) | 15 s, 720p, copies the trend clip, one tap | 48 | Credits come with a plan; see [pricing](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing). A failed video gives its credits back. ## What happens in the Tecktonik dance video, shot by shot? Each version copies a viral reel of the dance, and your photo takes the place of its dancer. The stage, the string lights, the red light, the moves and the camera come from the reel. Both clips are one continuous handheld shot, filmed from below the stage: | Beat | Human (Cheba Man's reel, 15 s) | Pet (the cat reel, 15 s) | |---|---|---| | The start | You stand on a small stage above the crowd under two rows of string lights: arms out wide, hands to the head, then both arms straight up. | Your pet stands upright on its hind legs on the stage, crosses its front paws at the chest, then throws both paws straight up. | | The routine | Arms cross in front of the chest, roll past the face and snap out to the side on the beat, then open wide with the palms up. | Sharp paw waves and crosses in front of the face, front legs spread wide, paws to the head, while two dancers in sunglasses dance behind it. | | The finish | Arms out wide again, then quick side steps with one arm swinging over the head while the crowd raises hands and phones. | Side steps across the stage while the camera drops lower. | **Human or Pet?** Press "Create your own" and pick one, or press the button under its reel on this page. **Standard or Best?** Each version has two qualities. Standard is the default and costs fewer credits. Best costs more. The exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. | | Standard (default) | Best | |---|---|---| | How it works | Seedance 2.0 Mini makes a new clip that follows the reel's moves, camera and timing. | MiniMax H3 Max Recast puts you or your pet into the reel itself: the same stage, the same crowd, the same camera. | | Frame | Vertical 9:16, 720p | Vertical 9:16, 768p | | Length | 15 s | 15 s | | Sound | The reel's song, put on after the run; you can turn it off | The same | Human uses a closer cut of Cheba Man's reel, so you fill more of the frame than he does in the original. Pick Standard for the lower price. Pick Best for the closest copy of the reel. Every run is a new take, so results differ. ## Who should do the Tecktonik dance? The joke works best with someone nobody expects on a stage, doing a dance from 2007 with total confidence. These casts fit: - **You.** The classic: your face, your outfit, the full routine with no rehearsal. - **Your cat.** The cat reel is the most viewed animal version we found. Calm, serious cats are the funniest. - **Your dog.** A dog standing upright and throwing its paws in the air is the twist people do not expect. - **Your dad or a friend who lived through 2007**, with their OK. Post it on a birthday. **Caption ideas:** "Me when the DJ plays 2007", "My cat at 3 am", "I never stopped doing Tecktonik", "POV: you were there in 2008". Or write your own. Want another stage with a crowd? Your clip comes with the sound of the reel it copies: the same 15 seconds of "Love Is Gonna Save Us" by Benny Benassi, so it is ready to post. You can turn the song off on the result screen and add a sound when you post instead. The song belongs to its owners, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. Music rules differ from platform to platform, so check them before you use the clip in an ad or a paid post. **Hashtags:** #tecktonik is the big one, with 10,274 TikTok videos and 397.7 million views on 12 October 2026. The Russian spelling #тектоник had 7,814 videos, #loveisgonnasaveus had 445 videos and 7 million views, and #chebaman names the dancer who started the revival. Keep the platform's AI label on. ## What goes wrong, and how do you fix it? | Problem | Fix | |---|---| | You get dark sunglasses or a striped T-shirt (Human) | The dancer in the reel wears both. Use a photo with your eyes in view and your own clothes, run it again, or pick Best. | | The face looks less like your photo (Standard) | The stage is filmed from the crowd, so the face is not big. Use a sharp, front-facing photo in good light, run it again, or pick Best. | | Your pet comes out ginger with big ears (Pet) | The cat in the reel is a ginger Abyssinian. Use a photo where the fur and ears are clear, run it again, or pick Best. | | A dog looks stiff on its hind legs | The reel stars a cat. Use a photo with the whole dog in view, then run it again. | | A hand or a paw blurs in a fast arm move | This is common in fast moves. A second run comes out different. | | The video model refuses a photo | Some photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo. | ## Tecktonik Dance trend questions ### What is the Tecktonik dance? Tecktonik, also called electro dance, is a French club dance from the 2000s that uses mostly the arms: wide arm swings, arms crossed in front of the chest, hands to the head and fast, sharp waves, with small side steps. It took shape at the Metropolis club near Paris from 2002 and was huge in 2007. In 2026 the dancer Cheba Man made it viral again on TikTok. ### Who is Cheba Man? Cheba Man (@cheba_man on TikTok) is Sasha Cheba, a Russian dancer who started posting Tecktonik moves to 2000s electro hits in February 2026. His stage dance under string lights from 24 May 2026 had 17 million views and 1.9 million likes by 12 October 2026. Spinnin' Records shared him as the creator bringing back the Tecktonik dance. ### What song is the Tecktonik dance trend to? "Love Is Gonna Save Us" by the Italian DJ Benny Benassi, a 2003 electro house track. Cheba Man's viral stage reel and the AI versions use it. A MakeViral clip comes with the same 15 seconds from the reel it copies, and you can turn the song off on the result screen. ### How do I make the Tecktonik dance AI video with my photo? Press "Create your own", pick Human or Pet, pick Standard or Best, and add one clear photo of yourself or your pet. Press Generate; the button shows the price first. You get a 15-second vertical clip with the song. You write no prompt, and the video waits in your Library when it is ready. ### Can my cat or dog do the Tecktonik dance? Yes. Pick Pet. It copies the AI cat reel by @ashanolas: your pet stands on its hind legs on a red-lit stage under string lights and does the arm moves while two dancers dance behind it. A cat looks closest to the reel, and a dog stands upright for the same moves. Use a sharp photo with the whole animal in view. ### Do I have to learn the dance? No. The moves come from the reel, so the person or pet in your photo does the whole routine. You only add one photo. ### What is the difference between Standard and Best? Standard is the default and costs less: Seedance 2.0 Mini makes a new vertical 720p clip that follows the reel's moves and timing, and the face or pet can look less like the photo. Best costs more: MiniMax H3 Max Recast puts your photo into the reel itself at 768p, with the reel's own stage, crowd and camera. ### Will Cheba Man be in my video? No. Your photo replaces the dancer, so your face, body and clothes are on the stage. The crowd and the stage come from his reel. Cheba Man and Benny Benassi have nothing to do with MakeViral. Do not use photos of them or of other celebrities: a fake video of a real person can break platform rules and that person's rights. ### Do I need the CapCut Tecktonik party template? No. CapCut templates of the trend spread in October 2026, but on MakeViral you add one photo and get the finished 15-second clip with the song, ready to post. Your pet can do it too. ### How long is the video and what format is it? Both versions make 15 seconds, vertical 9:16, as an MP4 file with the song. Standard is 720p and Best is 768p. ## Other AI video templates and tools - [Bulin 47 AI: Step Into the Viral Freestyle](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/bulin-47-ai-trend): You, or your cat or dog, take the rapper's place outside the red-lit restaurant: the speaker plays, the crowd films on phones, and the moves, the camera and the song come from the viral AI reels. - [Nicole Kidman Dance AI: Do the Viral Routine With One Photo](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/nicole-kidman-dance-ai-trend): Hands to the chest, a hip sway, both arms up and a spin with a hair flip: the viral routine to ADÉLA's "Nicole Kidman".
