The meme starts with a real photo. A snow leopard named Himmel sits behind the glass at Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi, Japan, with its front paws up, and an X user posted the photo on 25 May 2024. In October 2026 someone edited it with AI and gave the snow leopard the huge, round, glossy eyes of **Mei Mei**, also called Tole Tole Cat, a cat that went viral in 2023. That is why fans call it the **snow leopard Mei Mei**, **Mei Mei snow leopard** or **Snowmei**. Know Your Meme dates the first meme post to 23 October 2026 on X. The caption "*paws at you*" is an older roleplay line, written like an action between asterisks, and people follow it with a punchline: a game invite like "hop online" or "deadlock?", "True friendship", or "am i annoying". On 28 October the Epic Games Store posted "paws at you hop online" on X. On TikTok the hashtag #snowleopardmeimei started on 24 October and had 894 videos and 16.1 million views a week later. The most watched edits passed 1.7 million plays within days. On Google Trends in the US, "paws at you" rose from 7 on 24 October to 32 on 30 October, and "snow leopard meme" went from too few searches to show to 24 on 1 November. ### Snow Leopard Meme trend timeline - **2024-05-25**: An X user posts the base photo: the snow leopard Himmel at Ishikawa Zoo in Japan, paws up behind the glass. To change them, copy them and edit them in AI Photo and AI Video. #### Variant: Human Settings: 1 photo (you, waist up, face clear) · Kling 3.0 · 5 s · 1080p · 9:16 · with sound · 29 credits in one tap. 1. Open [AI Photo with this template](https://www.makeviral.ai/photo?template=snow-leopard-paws-at-you-ai&variant=human) and add your photo (you, waist up, face clear). The photo prompt is filled in: ```text Use the uploaded image as the base. Keep the person's face, hair, skin tone and body exactly the same as in the photo; only their clothes change. A real phone photo of the same person, taken straight on at eye level through a clear glass window, like a photo of an animal at a zoo. The person wears a thick, fluffy snow leopard onesie: pale grey-white faux fur with dark grey rosette spots, a soft hood with two small round ears pulled up over their hair, with the whole face and the front of the hair in view, and big fluffy paw mittens with dark grey paw pads. They sit close behind the glass and press both mitten paws flat against it at chest height, paw pads toward the camera, like a snow leopard with its paws on the glass. They look straight into the camera with their eyes wide open and a calm, innocent face, mouth closed. Behind them: a snowy zoo enclosure with pale snow-covered rocks, soft and out of focus, in cool blue-grey light. Framed from the top of the head to the waist, the face large and sharp. Soft daylight, a faint reflection on the glass, a little phone-camera softness. Photorealistic, not a cartoon, not CGI. Vertical 9:16. Exactly one person and exactly two paws. No real animal, no other people, no camera app interface, no text, no logos. ``` 2. Check the still before you spend credits on the video. Everything the video model does starts from that one frame. 3. Press the film button on the still to open AI Video with the still as the first frame. Settings: Kling 3.0, 5 s, 1080p, 9:16, sound on. The video prompt: ```text A real, cute phone video in one continuous shot, filmed straight on through a clear glass window, like a video of an animal at a zoo. Keep the person's face, hair, skin tone and the fluffy snow leopard onesie, hood, ears and paw mittens exactly as in the image. For the first second the person stays still with both paws pressed on the glass and looks into the lens with wide, round, innocent eyes. Then they lift one paw off the glass and slowly paw at the camera twice, the soft paw pad tapping the glass right in front of the lens, and tilt their head a little to one side. Then the paw slides back down onto the glass and they blink slowly, still looking into the lens. Only the arms, the head and the eyes move; the person stays in the same spot. The camera stays almost still, with a slight handheld sway. Audio: soft wind chimes, a light breeze and two soft taps on the glass, and nothing else: no music, no voice. Exactly one person and exactly two paws. No extra hands, no extra limbs, no morphing, no cuts, no text, no logos. ``` 4. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/snow-leopard-paws-at-you-ai/create?variant=human #### Variant: You + snow leopard Settings: 1 photo (you, chest up, face clear) · Kling 3.0 · 5 s · 1080p · 9:16 · with sound · 29 credits in one tap. 1. Open [AI Photo with this template](https://www.makeviral.ai/photo?template=snow-leopard-paws-at-you-ai&variant=with) and add your photo (you, chest up, face clear). The photo prompt is filled in: ```text Use the uploaded image as the base. Keep the person, their face, hair, skin tone, clothes, expression and pose, the place and the light exactly as in the photo. Add one fluffy young snow leopard right next to the person, close to the camera, as if it just stepped into the shot: thick pale grey-white fur with dark grey rosette spots, small round ears, big fluffy paws with dark grey paw pads, and huge, perfectly round, glossy dark eyes with wide pupils and a bright white catchlight in each, like a cute cartoon-eyed cat, while the rest of it looks real. It sits at the person's shoulder with its head at the height of their face, faces the camera and holds up one front paw toward the lens, paw pads toward the camera. The person's face and the snow leopard's face are both large, sharp and in full view; the paw covers neither face. A real phone photo, photorealistic, not a cartoon, not CGI. Vertical 9:16. Exactly one person and exactly one snow leopard. No other animals, no camera app interface, no text, no logos. ``` 2. Check the still before you spend credits on the video. Everything the video model does starts from that one frame. 3. Press the film button on the still to open AI Video with the still as the first frame. Settings: Kling 3.0, 5 s, 1080p, 9:16, sound on. The video prompt: ```text A real, cute phone video in one continuous shot. Keep the person, their face, hair, skin tone, clothes and the place, and the fluffy snow leopard with its huge, round, glossy eyes, exactly as in the image. For the first second the snow leopard stares into the lens with its huge, shiny eyes, one front paw raised. Then it slowly paws at the camera twice, its soft paw pads reaching right up to the lens, and tilts its head a little. Then it turns to the person and gently pats their shoulder with the same paw; the person laughs, looks at it, then looks back into the camera. The snow leopard stays at the person's shoulder the whole time; it never jumps or bites. The camera stays almost still, with a slight handheld sway. Audio: soft wind chimes, a light breeze, one tiny, high, soft mew and the person's short laugh, and nothing else: no music, no words. Exactly one person and exactly one snow leopard with four legs. No extra paws, no extra limbs, no morphing, no cuts, no text, no logos. ``` 4. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/snow-leopard-paws-at-you-ai/create?variant=with #### Variant: Pet Settings: 1 photo (your pet, front paws in view) · Kling 3.0 · 5 s · 1080p · 9:16 · with sound · 29 credits in one tap. 1. Open [AI Photo with this template](https://www.makeviral.ai/photo?template=snow-leopard-paws-at-you-ai&variant=pet) and add your photo (your pet, front paws in view). The photo prompt is filled in: ```text Use the uploaded image as the base. Turn the pet into a fluffy snow leopard that is still clearly the same pet: keep its own face shape, ears, nose, muzzle and the colors and markings of its face, so its owner recognizes it at once. Its body gets a thick, fluffy snow leopard coat: pale grey-white fur with dark grey rosette spots, a long, thick, spotted tail, and big round fluffy paws with dark grey paw pads. Its eyes become huge, perfectly round and glossy, with wide dark pupils that fill almost the whole eye and a bright white catchlight in each, like a cute cartoon-eyed cat, while the rest of the face stays real. A real phone photo taken straight on through a clear glass window at a zoo: the pet sits upright right behind the glass, faces the camera and presses both front paws flat against the glass at chest height, paw pads toward the camera. It looks straight into the camera with a calm, innocent face and a closed mouth. Behind it: a snowy enclosure with pale snow-covered rocks, soft and out of focus, in cool blue-grey light. Framed from the ears to the belly, the face large and sharp. Soft daylight, natural fur detail, a faint reflection on the glass. Photorealistic, not a cartoon, not CGI. Vertical 9:16. Exactly one animal and exactly two front paws on the glass. No people, no clothes, no collar, no camera app interface, no text, no logos. ``` 2. Check the still before you spend credits on the video. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/snow-leopard-paws-at-you-ai/create?variant=pet ### Which photo works best? Use **one sharp photo with the face large and the front paws or hands in view**. - **Pet:** your cat or dog facing the camera, from the ears to the belly. The face carries the meme, so it must be sharp, with both eyes open. Cats look closest to the snow leopard; dogs work too. - **Human:** you from the waist up, facing the camera, face clear, no sunglasses. Your clothes change into the snow leopard look, so any outfit works. - **You + snow leopard:** you from the chest up with some space beside you, so the snow leopard has room to sit at your shoulder. - Daylight, in focus. One pet or one person per photo: with two, the model may merge them. - Use your own pet or your own photo, or one whose owner said yes. ## How many credits does it cost? You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video. | Video model | Settings | Credits | | --- | --- | --- | | Kling 3.0 (this template) | 5 s, 1080p + 1 scene photo, one tap | 29 | | Seedance 2.0 Fast (by hand in AI Video) | 5 s, 720p + 1 photo | 35 | | Veo 3.1 Fast (by hand in AI Video) | 8 s, 720p + 1 photo | 14 | Credits come with a plan; see [pricing](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing). A failed video gives its credits back. ## What happens in the snow leopard paws at you video? Your clip copies the pose of the meme photo, filmed through zoo glass, and then does the one thing the photo only hints at: it paws at you. | Time | What happens | |---|---| | 0-1 s | The snow leopard sits behind the glass with both paws pressed to it and stares into the lens with huge, shiny eyes. | | 1-4 s | It lifts one paw and taps the glass right in front of the lens twice, and tilts its head. | | 4-5 s | The paw slides back onto the glass, and it blinks slowly at you. | The clip comes with soft wind chimes, a light breeze and the paw taps, not a song. Add your own caption when you post: "*paws at you*" plus your punchline. **The three versions:** - **Human** puts you in the snow leopard look: a fluffy spotted snow leopard hood with round ears and big paw mittens. You press your paws to the glass, then paw at the camera with wide, innocent eyes. Your face stays your own. - **You + snow leopard** keeps your photo as it is and adds the big-eyed snow leopard at your shoulder. It paws at the camera, then pats your shoulder, and you laugh. - **Pet** turns your cat or dog into the snow leopard Mei Mei: its own face, ears and face colors, with a fluffy spotted snow leopard coat, a long tail and the huge glossy eyes. ## How does MakeViral make it, and what does it cost? Two steps, and you write no prompt: 1. **The still.** An AI image model edits your photo: your pet gets the snow leopard coat and the huge eyes, or you get the snow leopard hood and mittens, behind the glass of a snowy zoo enclosure. 2. **The video.** A top-quality AI video model animates the still for 5 seconds: the stare, the paw taps, the head tilt and the blink, with the soft sound. | | Standard (default) | Best | |---|---|---| | Video model | A fast, top-quality AI video model | The strongest AI video model we offer | | Length | 5 s | 5 s | | Frame | Vertical 9:16, 1080p | Vertical 9:16, 720p | | Sound | Wind chimes, breeze and paw taps | The same | | Price | Lower | Higher | The exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything, and the video waits in My videos when it is ready. **Why not copy a reel?** The meme is a photo, not a dance or a scene with moves to copy. The reels you see are edits of that one picture. So the template makes the picture with your pet first, then lets it move. ## What goes wrong, and how do you fix it? | Problem | Fix | |---|---| | Your pet looks less like itself | Use a sharper photo in daylight, face to the camera. The coat changes on purpose, but the face, ears and face colors come from your photo. | | The eyes are not big enough | Run it again, or pick Best. | | A paw blurs or gets extra toes | Fast paw moves can blur in AI video. Run it again if it bothers you. | | With Human, the face changes a little | The wide-eyed look can shift a face. Use a clear, close photo, or pick Best. | | The video model refuses the photo | Some photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo. | Every run is a new take, so results differ. ## Which caption and hashtags should you post it with? The meme lives on its caption. Start with "*paws at you*" and add a punchline: a game invite like "hop online" (the line the Epic Games Store used) or "deadlock?", "True friendship", "am i annoying", or your own, like "*paws at you* feed me". **Hashtags:** #snowleopardmeimei (894 videos and 16.1 million views on 31 October 2026), #meimei, #snowleopard and #pawsatyou. Keep the platform's AI label on. Want your pet in more trends? "*paws at you*" is an action written between asterisks, as in online roleplay: the speaker reaches out a paw at you to get your attention. In the snow leopard meme it comes first, and a punchline follows, often an invite to play a game. On this page the paws at you meaning becomes a video: your pet, as the snow leopard, paws at the camera. ### What is the snow leopard meme? It is a reaction image from October 2026, also called paws at you, the snow leopard Mei Mei or Snowmei. A real photo of a snow leopard behind zoo glass, paws up, was edited with AI to give it the huge round eyes of Mei Mei the cat. People post it with "*paws at you*" and a punchline. ### Who is Mei Mei, and why is it called snow leopard Mei Mei? Mei Mei, also called Tole Tole Cat, is a cat that went viral in 2023. The AI edit put her big round eyes on the snow leopard, so fans named the picture after her: snow leopard Mei Mei, Mei Mei snow leopard, or the snow leopard Mei Mei meme. ### Is the paws at you snow leopard real or AI? Both. The snow leopard is real: Himmel at Ishikawa Zoo in Japan, photographed through the glass and posted on X on 25 May 2024. The huge eyes are an AI edit from October 2026. The original photo shows normal snow leopard eyes. ### Who made the original snow leopard paws at you meme? Know Your Meme dates the earliest known meme post to X user @harvest_skies on 23 October 2026, captioned "forming a collection". The base photo of Himmel is older, from 25 May 2024. Know Your Meme does not name the person who made the first AI edit. ### How do I make my cat the paws at you snow leopard? Press "Create your own", pick Pet, add one photo of your cat with its face and front paws in view and press Generate. Your cat gets the snow leopard coat and the huge glossy eyes, presses its paws to the glass and paws at you, in a 5-second vertical clip. The paws at you cat version works for dogs too. ### Can I be the snow leopard myself? Yes. Pick Human and add one photo of yourself, waist up. You get a fluffy snow leopard hood with round ears and big paw mittens, press your paws to the glass and paw at the camera with wide eyes, and your face stays your own. Or pick You + snow leopard to keep your photo and have the big-eyed snow leopard paw at you from your shoulder. ### How long is the video, and does it have sound? 5 seconds, vertical 9:16, as an MP4 file: 1080p with Standard, 720p with Best. It has soft wind chimes, a light breeze and the paw taps, not a song. Add the caption and any sound you like when you post. ### Is there a paws at you GIF, a snow leopard meme GIF or a Mei Mei snow leopard GIF? The meme itself is a still image, and the GIF versions are short loops of edits like the one above. This page makes a new video of your own pet instead, as an MP4 file that you can post or turn into a loop. ### Where is the original Mei Mei snow leopard image? The base photo is the X post of 25 May 2024 linked in the timeline above. The AI-edited mei mei snow leopard original went around X and TikTok from 23 October 2026, and Know Your Meme collects the versions on its "Snow Leopard Paws at You" page. ### Can I get a snow leopard Mei Mei wallpaper of my own pet? Yes, in a way. The result is a vertical video, so you can pause on the frame you like and save it as a phone wallpaper. Fans asked for the meme as a wallpaper in the comments of @noperscan's reel. ### What does "paws at you deadlock" mean? Deadlock is a video game. Some of the first posts on X used the snow leopard to ask friends to play it: "*paws at you* deadlock?". It works the same way with any game, or with "hop online". ### What is the snow leopard meme name? Know Your Meme lists it as "Snow Leopard Paws at You", also known as Snowmei and the Snow Leopard Meme. On TikTok the main hashtag is #snowleopardmeimei. ### Is this a snow leopard AI video or AI image tool? Both steps are in it. First an AI image of your pet as the big-eyed snow leopard, then a snow leopard AI video of it pawing at you. You get the video; the still is the first frame. ### Does the snow leopard video cost credits? Yes. Each video costs credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. Standard costs less than Best. If a video fails, the credits come back. ## Other AI video templates and tools - [Clapping Cat: Make Your Pet Grin and Clap Like the Black Cat](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/clapping-cat-ai-video): Your cat or dog sits up, grows two small human hands, flashes a wide human grin and gives you a slow, loud clap, like the black cat clapping meme.
