You need one full-body photo. Add one photo. AI puts you in a sunny pro football game in your own clothes: you make a defender miss, spin, jump backward over a tackler, then laugh on the grass and walk off. The **Saquon Barkley hurdle** is a real play. On 3 November 2024, in the Philadelphia Eagles' 28-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the running back caught a short pass, made one defender miss, spun all the way around and jumped backward over a cornerback who came in low. The NFL's TikTok clip of the play passed 21 million views. Fans call it the reverse hurdle or the backwards hurdle, and the Saquon Barkley backwards hurdle is still one of the most searched plays: US Google searches for "saquon barkley hurdle" rose from 1,300 in July 2026 to 6,600 in September 2026. In October 2026 the play became an AI template. From 12 October an AI video app ran at least 81 ads on Meta and TikTok that put a user's photo on the runner: a person in jeans and sneakers runs, spins, flies backward over a tackler, lands on the grass laughing and walks off. No creator had posted a version with their own face by 16 October. The clip at the top of this page is the real play, from the NFL's own TikTok. Your video is built from scratch with generic teams: no real player, no league or team logos and no TV footage. ### Reverse Hurdle trend timeline - **2024-11-03**: In the Eagles' 28-23 win over the Jaguars in Philadelphia, Saquon Barkley spins and jumps backward over cornerback Jarrian Jones on a 14-yard catch and run. No editing app, no watermark. ### The one-tap way (no prompt to write) 1. **Add your photo.** Press "Make yours" and add you, full body (face clear). Take it with the camera or pick it from your library. Start here: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/reverse-hurdle-ai-trend/create 2. **Press Generate.** The button shows the price. Seedance 2.5 films the Reverse Hurdle scene straight from your photo, with no in-between picture, for 10 seconds with original sound. You write no prompt. 3. **Download or share.** The video is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library. ### The by-hand way, with the exact prompts The one-tap flow runs this prompt for you. The video model takes your photo as a reference ([Image 1]) and films the scene straight from it, with no photo step first. AI Video takes one photo as the first frame, so it cannot run this prompt the same way: the prompt is here to read. Settings: 1 photo (you, full body (face clear)) · Seedance 2.5 · 10 s · 720p · 9:16 · with sound · 126 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: Seedance 2.5, 10 s, 720p, 9:16, sound on. The video prompt: ```text A reverse hurdle AI video made from [Image 1]: the person in [Image 1] is the ball carrier in a real pro football game and makes the famous backwards hurdle. Vertical 9:16, filmed like a real TV sports broadcast, photorealistic and sharp, bright afternoon sun. The runner is the person in [Image 1], in every frame: copy the exact face from [Image 1] (the face shape, eye color and eye shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, skin tone, age, hair color, hair length and hairstyle, and any beard, moustache, glasses or freckles), the same build, and the clothes and shoes from [Image 1]: everyday clothes, never a jersey, pads or a helmet, with a small white towel tucked into the waistband. The runner is an adult. The same face from the first frame to the last, so their friends recognize them at once, also in the air and at the end. Never morph. If [Image 1] shows an animal, the runner is that animal running upright on its hind legs, with its own face, fur and markings, not a person. The place: a big outdoor pro football stadium on a sunny afternoon, a green grass field with white yard lines, no logo at midfield, no words in the end zones, packed stands behind. The defense wears plain white jerseys with red numbers and plain silver helmets: no names, no logos. A referee in a black-and-white striped shirt. 0-2 s: a high broadcast camera above the sideline looks down and follows the play: the runner sprints across the yard lines with the football tucked under one arm. 2-3.5 s: the first defender dives at the runner's legs; the runner cuts hard and he slides past on the grass. 3.5-5.5 s: a second defender charges in low; the runner spins all the way around, so their back faces him, and jumps BACKWARD over him, knees tucked, flying over his shoulders while holding the ball. A backwards hurdle: never a flip, never a forward leap. 5.5-7 s: the runner lands behind him, stumbles, and two defenders bring the runner down softly onto the grass. 7-8.5 s: a closer high shot: the runner lies on their back on the grass, the ball on the chest, and laughs up at the sky, the face large and sharp. 8.5-10 s: a medium shot on the sideline at eye level: the runner walks off grinning at the camera, holding a plain silver helmet, while two staff members in khaki polos laugh and pat them on the back. Audio: the crowd roaring, the thud of the tackle, and an excited off-screen TV commentator in English: "Makes the first man miss... spins... and what is THAT? Turned around and jumped right over him!" No music, no lyrics. Exactly one football. No league, team, stadium or broadcaster logos, no team names, no score bug, no TV graphics, no captions, no watermark. No famous athlete: every player is a generic adult. Anatomy rules: one head, two arms, two legs, five fingers on each hand; the runner never merges with another player or the ball. Nobody gets hurt: no blood, no injury shown. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/reverse-hurdle-ai-trend/create ### Which photo works best? Upload **one photo** of yourself. - **Full body or from the knees up, face clear and well lit.** The AI keeps your face, build, clothes and shoes, so wear what you want to run in. Jeans and sneakers, a suit or a dress all work: the contrast with a pro game is the joke. - **Look at the camera or a little to the side.** No sunglasses, and no cap or hair over the eyes. - **One person in the photo.** In a group photo the AI can pick the wrong person. - Use your own photo, or one of an adult friend who said yes. Never a celebrity or a stranger. ## How many credits does it cost? You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video. | Video model | Settings | Credits | | --- | --- | --- | | Seedance 2.5 (this template) | 10 s, 720p, straight from your photos, one tap | 126 | Credits come with a plan; see [pricing](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing). A failed video gives its credits back. ## What happens in the reverse hurdle AI video? | Seconds | What you see | |---|---| | 0-2 | A high TV camera above the sideline follows you as you sprint across the yard lines with the ball, in your own clothes, a white towel at your waist | | 2-3.5 | The first defender dives at your legs. You cut and he slides past on the grass | | 3.5-5.5 | A second defender comes in low. You spin all the way around and jump **backward** over him, knees tucked, ball in hand: the reverse hurdle | | 5.5-7 | You land behind him, stumble, and two defenders bring you down softly | | 7-8.5 | A closer shot: you lie on your back on the grass, ball on your chest, laughing at the sky | | 8.5-10 | On the sideline you walk off grinning at the camera with a helmet in your hand, while the staff laugh and pat you on the back | The video is vertical (9:16), 10 seconds, with a roaring crowd and an excited TV-style call. The teams wear plain jerseys and plain helmets, and the stadium has no league, team or TV logos. ## How does MakeViral make the backwards hurdle video? The video is made straight from your photo with Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's newest video model, with no in-between picture, so your face stays close to the photo. No creator has shared a prompt for this trend, so we wrote our own: it describes the stadium, each move second by second and the end shots, where your face is large and sharp. The call is our own words, not the real TV commentary: "Makes the first man miss... spins... and what is THAT? Turned around and jumped right over him!" There is no music, so you can add your own sound when you post. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. If a run fails, the credits come back. ## What goes wrong with a reverse hurdle, and how do you fix it? | What goes wrong | What to do | |---|---| | The jump goes forward or turns into a flip | A backward jump is hard for video models. The prompt asks for it in capitals; run it again | | Your face is small or soft in the high shots | The high TV angle keeps everyone small. The last two shots are close: use a clear, well-lit photo | | Two balls, or a hand looks odd in the pile | Common in fast sports moves. A second run usually fixes it | | You wear a jersey instead of your clothes | The prompt keeps your own clothes. A photo with your whole outfit in view helps | | A logo or a score box shows up | The prompt bans logos, team names and TV graphics. Run it again if one slips in | ## How do you post your backwards hurdle video? Post it as a joke, not as real footage: the fun is that you, in jeans or a suit, pull off one of the wildest moves in football. - **Caption ideas:** "Coach finally put me in", "I saw it once and I knew", "Turned around and jumped right over him". - **Hashtags:** #backwardshurdle (322 TikTok videos, 5.8 million views on 16 October 2026), #reversehurdle (136 videos, 6.2 million views) and #aifootball (8,511 videos). Add #football and #hurdle for reach. - **Keep TikTok's AI label on.** It is an AI video, and people should know it. - **Send it to the group chat on game day.** Your friends can make their own and compare jumps. ## Reverse Hurdle trend questions ### What is the reverse hurdle AI trend? It is an AI football trend from October 2026: one photo becomes a broadcast-style clip of you making the famous backwards hurdle. You run with the ball in your own clothes, make a defender miss, spin, jump backward over a tackler and laugh on the grass. People also call it the backwards hurdle AI, the Saquon hurdle AI or the spin hurdle. ### Is this the Saquon hurdle? It is the same move, not the same footage. The Saquon reverse hurdle, also searched as the Saquon backwards hurdle or the Saquon Barkley reverse hurdle, is real game footage of a real player from 3 November 2024: the clip at the top of this page is the real Saquon hurdle play, from the NFL's own TikTok. Your video never uses that footage or his face. You are the runner in a new scene with generic teams, and MakeViral has no link to the player, the NFL or any team. ### How do I make a backwards hurdle video of myself? Press "Create your own", add one full-body photo and press Generate. In a few minutes your backwards hurdle video lands in your Library, ready to post. You need no app, no template and no prompt. ### Can I make a Saquon hurdle GIF of myself? MakeViral makes an MP4 video with sound, not a GIF. If you want a backwards hurdle GIF or a reverse hurdle GIF to send around like a Saquon hurdle GIF or meme, save the video and cut the 2-second jump in any GIF maker. ### Is it an NFL AI video? It looks like one, which is why people call it the NFL AI trend and search for NFL AI videos and NFL AI memes, but MakeViral has no link to the NFL or any team. Your reverse hurdle video shows a generic pro football stadium with plain jerseys, plain helmets and no league, team or TV logos. If you came looking for an NFL AI video generator or the backwards hurdle in the NFL, the real clip lives on the league's own channels. ### Is there an American football AI video generator for this? Yes, this page works as one for a single play. Add a photo and the American football AI makes a stadium scene where you are the football player with the ball, like an AI football highlight video. Save a few runs and you have your own AI football highlights, or cut them into an AI football highlight reel. Most "AI football video generator" and "football AI video" tools are made for soccer clips or for game analysis; this one makes the backwards hurdle, from the run to the walk off. ### Is this the AI football trend from TikTok? The AI football trend on TikTok in October 2026 is mostly soccer: people put themselves into a famous 2016 Ozil goal or a fake rabona. The reverse hurdle is the American football one. We have a page for the Ozil goal too. ### What is the prompt for the reverse hurdle AI video? No creator has shared one. If you came for a football AI video prompt or a football AI trend prompt, you do not need one here: our prompt is built in. It describes a sunny pro stadium, the run, the missed tackle, the spin, the backward jump, the soft tackle and the laugh on the grass, second by second, and it bans logos and real players. ### Does it cost credits? Yes. The create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything, and if a run fails, the credits come back. ### Is my photo private? Yes. MakeViral does not post your photo or the result anywhere or show them to other users. The result goes to your private Library, and you can delete it there at any time. ## Other AI video templates and tools - [AI Dunk Trend: Dunk in a Pro Game From One Photo](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/ai-dunk-trend): Add one photo.
