The goal is real. On 1 November 2016, in a Champions League group game in Sofia, Mesut Özil scored Arsenal's winner against Ludogorets two minutes from time to make it 3-2. He ran onto a long ball, flicked it past the goalkeeper as he came out, sent two defenders sliding to the ground and rolled the ball into the empty net. Nearly ten years later, AI video tools turned it into a meme. By 9 October 2026, TikTok creators were posting AI copies of the clip with someone else as the scorer, and a how-to video that day showed the goal recast with Higgsfield's Genjutsu. That evening @r7538701fal posted a version with a blocky video game villager as the scorer, set to a French love song. By 11 October it had 1.9 million views, 224,200 likes and 76,100 shares, and its sound was on 304 videos. Versions with grandmas and TV characters spread too, and dozens of how-to videos followed. On 10 October the same account posted a version with an AI-made grandma as the scorer, in made-up kits with no real club badges. MakeViral copies that reel: your photo takes her place. ### Ozil Goal trend timeline - **2016-11-01**: Mesut Özil scores Arsenal's late winner at Ludogorets in the Champions League in Sofia (3-2): he beats the goalkeeper and two defenders before he slots the ball in. The people and pets are AI-made, not real persons, and the sound is original. Your result will differ from run to run. - **Example 1** (15 s, 9:16 MP4 with sound): The original reel by @r7538701fal: an AI-made grandma in a headscarf flicks the ball over the diving keeper, takes it on the chest, lets two defenders slide past and rolls it into the net. Your photo takes her place. - Video: https://www.makeviral.ai/media/templates/ozil-goal-ai-trend/original-main-v2.mp4 - Poster: https://www.makeviral.ai/media/templates/ozil-goal-ai-trend/original-main-v1.jpg ## How to make the Ozil Goal video on MakeViral Everything runs in the browser. No editing app, no watermark. ### The one-tap way (no prompt to write) 1. **Add your photo.** Press "Make yours" and add your photo. Take it with the camera or pick it from your library. Start here: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/ozil-goal-ai-trend/create 2. **Press Generate.** The button shows the price. Seedance 2.0 Mini puts your photos into the Ozil Goal trend clip and copies it shot by shot for 15 seconds, with the reel's original song. You write no prompt. 3. **Download or share.** The video is ready in a few minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library. ### The by-hand way, with the exact prompts The one-tap flow runs this prompt for you. The video prompt animates your own photo directly. To change it, copy it and edit it in AI Video. Settings: 1 photo (your photo) · Seedance 2.0 Mini · 15 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 48 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: Seedance 2.0 Mini, 15 s, 720p, 9:16, sound off. The video prompt: ```text [Video 1] is a motion guide only. Copy its camera moves, timing and actions, the night stadium under floodlights, the dark packed stands and the green pitch. Do NOT copy the people in [Video 1]: not their faces, hair, skin tone, age or clothes. Replace all of them. The one with the ball the whole time, who dribbles toward the camera, flicks the ball over the goalkeeper as he dives, takes the falling ball on the chest, lets it bounce, waits while two defenders slide past on the grass and then shoots the ball along the grass into the net, is the one in [Image 1]. Keep the face, hair, skin tone, body, clothes and shoes from [Image 1] in every shot, with no headscarf, no cardigan and no floral dress unless [Image 1] shows them. The goalkeeper in a plain grey kit and the defenders in plain blue kits are new adult men, not the ones in [Video 1]. The ball is a plain white football. Photorealistic, like a real night match filmed from pitch level. One continuous shot that ends behind the goal as the ball rolls into the net. No text, no names or numbers on the shirts, no badges, no score graphics, no subtitles, no logos, no watermark, no extra limbs. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/ozil-goal-ai-trend/create ### Which photo works best? You need **one photo of the scorer**: you, a friend who agreed, or your grandma with her OK. - **Full body, or at least from the knees up**, standing, in good light. The scorer runs across the pitch in every shot, so the whole body and the outfit show the whole time. - **Wear what you want to score in.** The prompt keeps the clothes from your photo, so a suit, a dress or pajamas look funnier on the pitch than a football kit. - Face sharp and turned to the camera, with no sunglasses. The face is small in most shots, so a clear photo matters. - One person in the photo, with nothing in front of them. - Use a photo of yourself or of an adult who said yes. Never a footballer, a celebrity or a stranger. ## How many credits does it cost? You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video. | Video model | Settings | Credits | | --- | --- | --- | | Seedance 2.0 Mini (this template) | 15 s, 720p, copies the trend clip, one tap | 48 | Credits come with a plan; see [pricing](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing). A failed video gives its credits back. ## What happens in the Ozil goal clip, second by second? Your clip follows the 15 seconds of the AI grandma reel by @r7538701fal, in one continuous take on a floodlit pitch at night: | Seconds | What happens | |---|---| | 0 to 2 | You dribble toward the camera while the goalkeeper rushes out. | | 2 to 3 | The keeper dives at your feet, and you flick the ball up and over him. | | 3 to 6 | You run under the falling ball, take it on the chest and let it bounce. | | 6 to 11 | One defender slides in, then a second. You wait, step around them and keep the ball. | | 11 to 15 | You shoot along the grass, and the camera ends behind the goal as the ball goes in. | **Standard or Best?** Press "Create your own" and pick one. Standard is the default. | | Standard | Best | |---|---|---| | Model | Seedance 2.0 Mini | Higgsfield Genjutsu | | How it works | Makes a new vertical clip that follows the reel's moves, camera and timing, with you as the scorer | Puts you into the reel itself, shot by shot: the same keeper, defenders and stadium | | Frame | Vertical 9:16, 720p | Vertical 9:16 like the reel, 480p | | Length | 15 s | 15 s | | Sound | The reel's song, which you can turn off | The same | | Price | The lower price | Costs more | The exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. You write no prompt, and the video waits in your Library when it is ready. **Why these models?** The scorer is small or medium in the frame in every shot, with no big close-ups of the face, so the cheaper Standard model fits this clip. Best uses Genjutsu, the tool shown in one of the first how-to videos for this trend. Every run is a new take, so results differ. ## Who should score the goal? The joke of the trend is the wrong person scoring a world-class goal, in the wrong clothes. These work well: - **Your grandma or grandpa.** Grandmas were among the first AI scorers of the trend. Ask them first. - **The friend who never plays football.** Put them in their work suit or their gym clothes. - **You, in what you wear right now.** Pajamas, a wedding outfit or a chef's apron all stay in the clip. - **Your Sunday league captain.** Tag the team. **Caption ideas:** "My grandma in her prime", "Me in the office five-a-side", "POV: he says he used to play semi-pro", or simply the scorer's name. Your clip comes with the sound of the reel it copies: the French love song that the first viral version used, cut to the same 15 seconds. On TikTok it is listed as "som original", and 304 videos used it by 11 October 2026. You can turn the song off on the result screen and add a sound when you post instead. The song belongs to its owners, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. Check the music rules before you use the clip in an ad or a paid post. **Hashtags:** the first viral reel and the grandma reel both use #ozil and #gol. #ozilgoal had 78 TikTok videos and 1.3 million views on 11 October 2026. The new AI tags #ozilaitrend and #ozilgoalaitrend started that day and had only a handful of videos. Keep the platform's AI label on. ## What goes wrong, and how do you fix it? | Problem | Fix | |---|---| | A headscarf, a cardigan or a dress shows up | The grandma from the reel comes through. Use a full-body photo where your own clothes are easy to see, then run it again. | | The face looks less like you | The face is small in most shots. Use a sharp, front-facing photo in good light, or pick Best. | | The ball jumps or disappears for a moment (Standard) | Fast ball moves are hard for video models. Run it again, or pick Best, which keeps the reel's own ball. | | The keeper or the defenders look different from the reel | Standard makes a new clip, so the other players can change. Best keeps the reel's players. | | The Best clip looks softer | Best is 480p and Standard is 720p. | | The run fails | Some photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo. | ## Ozil Goal trend questions ### What is the Ozil goal AI trend? It is a viral AI video format from October 2026. People remake a famous 2016 solo goal with someone else as the scorer: a grandma, a video game character, a friend or themselves. The scorer flicks the ball over the diving keeper, takes it on the chest, lets two defenders slide past and scores, often to the French love song of the first viral version. ### Which goal is the Ozil goal? Mesut Özil's late winner for Arsenal at Ludogorets in the Champions League on 1 November 2016, in Sofia, which made it 3-2. He ran onto a long ball, flicked it past the goalkeeper, sent two defenders sliding to the ground and rolled it into the empty net. UEFA's match report calls it "a stunning solo effort". ### How do I make the Ozil goal AI video with my own photo? Press "Create your own", add one full-body photo of the scorer, pick Standard or Best and press Generate. The button shows the price first. You get a 15-second vertical clip with the song, and you write no prompt. The video waits in your Library when it is ready. ### What is the difference between Standard and Best? Standard (Seedance 2.0 Mini) makes a new 720p clip that follows the reel's moves, camera and timing, at the lower price. Best (Higgsfield Genjutsu) puts you into the reel itself, shot by shot, so the keeper, the defenders and the stadium stay exactly as in the reel; the clip is 480p and costs more. ### Is my video made from the real match footage? No. Your clip copies an AI reel by @r7538701fal in which an AI-made grandma scores, in made-up kits with no real club badges. No real player appears in your video, and MakeViral does not use the 2016 broadcast. ### Can I put a footballer or a celebrity in as the scorer? Do not. Many viral copies use famous faces, but a fake video of a real person can break platform rules and that person's rights. Use yourself, or an adult who agreed to be in it. ### Which song is used in the Ozil goal trend? The viral AI versions use a French love song, posted on TikTok as "som original" with the first viral version on 9 October 2026. Your clip comes with the same 15 seconds from the reel it copies, and you can turn the song off on the result screen. ### Can my dog or cat score the goal? This template is made for people: the reel it copies has a person as the scorer, and we found no good AI pet version of the trend by 11 October 2026. For pets, try the [AI dancing pet video](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/ai-dancing-dog-video) or the Pet version of the [Bulin 47 AI freestyle](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/bulin-47-ai-trend). ### Do I need CapCut or a template app for the Ozil goal trend? No. Many how-to videos for the trend point to CapCut or other AI apps. On MakeViral you only add one photo and get the finished 15-second clip with the song, ready to post. ### How long is the video and what format is it? 15 seconds, as a vertical 9:16 MP4: 720p with Standard, 480p with Best. It comes with the reel's song, which you can turn off. ## Other AI video templates and tools - [Bulin 47 AI: Step Into the Viral Freestyle](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/bulin-47-ai-trend): You, or your cat or dog, take the rapper's place outside the red-lit restaurant: the speaker plays, the crowd films on phones, and the moves, the camera and the song come from the viral AI reels. - [Burning Bridges AI Trend: Put Yourself in the "Where She At?"
