"La calabaza" is Spanish for "the pumpkin". The song is "LA CALABAZA (TINIEBLA Edit)", a fast guaracha-style track by the independent producer Pumpky; its hook shouts "la calabaza" again and again. Pumpky's own TikTok sound of the track dates from 29 December 2025. The dance comes from AI cats. On 28 June 2026, the AI cat animation account @meowtakeover posted three AI kittens dancing in sync by a road (107.4 million views). On 27 August it posted the same trio again, now with a black cowboy hat on the white kitten and small round glasses on the black-and-white one, dancing on a roadside at night to "La Calabaza". That reel has 28.9 million views and 4.1 million likes by 16 October, and it is the first La Calabaza reel that went big: reposts and edits followed within hours, and a green-screen copy of 28 August gave TikTok the sound most people use (253,400 videos by 16 October). Then everyone joined. People pasted the kittens over their own dance videos, did the dance themselves, and turned the trio into their own pets with AI: on 9 September an AI version with three dachshunds in hats reached 54.2 million views, the most viewed AI take of the trend. US Google searches for "la calabaza" went from 480 in July to 18,100 in September 2026, and by 16 October #lacalabaza had 57,428 TikTok videos and 517 million views. With Halloween on 31 October, the pumpkin song is now everywhere. ### La Calabaza Dance trend timeline - **2026-06-28**: The AI cat account @meowtakeover posts three AI kittens dancing in sync by a road. Start here: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/la-calabaza-ai-dance/create 2. **Press Generate.** The button shows the price. Seedance 2.5 puts your photos into the La Calabaza dance trend clip and copies it shot by shot for 14 seconds, with the reel's original song. You write no prompt. 3. **Download or share.** The video is ready in up to several minutes as a 9:16 MP4. Download it, share it from your phone, or find it later in your Library. ### The by-hand way, with the exact prompts The one-tap flow runs this prompt for you. The video prompt animates your own photo directly. To change it, copy it and edit it in AI Video. #### Variant: Cats Settings: 1 photo (your pet, whole body) · Seedance 2.5 · 14 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 213 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: Seedance 2.5, 14 s, 720p, 9:16, sound off. The video prompt: ```text Recreate the reference video [Video 1] shot for shot: the same concrete roadside at night with the low concrete curb on the left, the dark asphalt, the street lamps and the blurred red and white car lights far behind, the same handheld low camera that moves closer, the same framing, timing and moves, one continuous take with no cuts. The ONLY change: all three kittens are now the pet in [Image 1]. The three dancers = three identical copies of the pet in [Image 1], side by side, in every frame: each one has the same species and breed, head shape, muzzle, eyes, ears, fur colors, fur length, markings and body shape as in [Image 1], with the natural body volume and proportions of that animal: never flattened, squashed, stretched or merged with anything, so its owner instantly recognizes it three times. All three stand upright on their hind legs like little people the whole time. Never drift back to the kittens of the original video: no cream kitten, no white kitten and no black-and-white kitten unless [Image 1] shows that coat. The middle copy wears the small black cowboy hat with the silver band, the right copy wears the small round black glasses, the left copy wears nothing; nothing else on them, no clothes. If [Image 1] shows a dog or another animal, the three copies are that animal, with its own ears and muzzle. They copy the kittens' moves in perfect sync. Matching the reference second by second: 0-2 s: the three stand still in a row, heads bowed, as the camera starts to move in. 2-3 s: they lift their heads to the camera and raise their front paws. 3-8 s: the dance: front paws out to the sides, then crossed in front of the chest, a sway from side to side and small bounces, all three together on the beat. 8-10.5 s: they turn sideways, then turn their backs to the camera with a wiggle of the tail. 10.5-12 s: they turn back to the front and step on the spot. 12-14 s: they bounce toward the camera, the middle one in the hat closest to the lens. Real animal anatomy: furry front legs ending in round paws in their own fur, never human hands, no fingers. One head each, two hind legs and two front legs each, no extra legs or paws, one tail each. Exactly three animals, no people, no cars near them. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/la-calabaza-ai-dance/create?variant=dogs #### Variant: Human Settings: 1 photo (you, full body) · kling-3-motion · 12 s · 720p · 9:16 · no sound · 49 credits in one tap. 1. The video prompt is filled in. Settings: kling-3-motion, 12 s, 720p, 9:16, sound off. The video prompt: ```text Replace the character in the video with the person from the uploaded image. Keep actions, poses, facial expressions, camera movement and rhythm. Preserve the person's original facial features, maintain character consistency, no distortion, no glitches, no artifacts. The person dances in the place from the uploaded image, in the clothes from the uploaded image, not the brown long-sleeved shirt and the dark wide trousers of the man in the video, and keeps their own hair from the uploaded image. Follow the man's moves and timing exactly: the arms crossed over the chest with a cool, serious face, the hands rolling in front of the chest on the beat, the small sways of the hips, the arm flicked out to the side with a step, the quarter turn, then the steps toward the camera with the hands circling at the chest and a cheeky look into the lens. Keep the whole body in view from the head to the feet, with natural balance. Exactly one person, no other people. One continuous shot, no cuts, no flash of light, no text, no captions, no logos. ``` 2. Press Generate, then download the 9:16 MP4. One-tap version of this variant: https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/la-calabaza-ai-dance/create ### Which photo works best? You need **one photo**: of your pet for Cats or Dogs, of yourself for Human. - **Pet:** a sharp photo with the whole animal in view and the face clear, in good light. Standing or sitting both work. The fur colors and markings of all three dancers come from this one photo, so no blur and no second animal. - **Cats or Dogs?** Both work for any pet. Cats copies the kitten reel (small, round dancers); Dogs copies the dachshund reel, which fits a dog's longer body better. - **Human:** stand up with your whole body in view, head to feet, and the face turned to the camera. The video keeps the place and the frame of your photo, so stand where you want to dance. - No sunglasses, no mask and no beauty filter on a person; nobody else in the photo. - This template is for adults and pets. Use a photo of your own pet, of yourself, or of an adult who agreed. Never a celebrity or a stranger. ## How many credits does it cost? You pay per video in credits, and the create page shows the exact price on the Generate button before you spend anything. The one-tap price covers the scene photo and the video, charged once. The cheaper models are there if you run the prompts by hand in AI Video. | Video model | Settings | Credits | | --- | --- | --- | | Seedance 2.5 (this template) | 14 s, 720p, copies the trend clip, one tap | 213 | Credits come with a plan; see [pricing](https://www.makeviral.ai/pricing). A failed video gives its credits back. ## What happens in the La Calabaza dance video, beat by beat? Cats and Dogs follow their reel second by second, in one continuous low shot that moves in on a roadside at night: | Time | Cats and Dogs (14 s, the night road) | Human (12 s, your own place) | |---|---|---| | 0-2 s | Three copies of your pet stand in a row, heads bowed. | Arms crossed, a cool, serious face. | | 2-8 s | They look up, then dance in sync: paws out, paws crossed, a sway and small bounces. | Hands rolling at the chest, small hip sways. | | 8-11 s | They turn sideways, show their backs with a tail wiggle, turn back. | An arm flicked out to the side, a quarter turn. | | 11-14 s | They bounce toward the camera, the one in the cowboy hat closest. | Steps toward the camera, hands circling, a cheeky look. | **Cats and Dogs:** Seedance 2.5 puts your pet into the reel itself, three times over: the same road, the same moves, the same hat. On Cats, the middle copy wears the black cowboy hat and the right one round glasses; on Dogs, the left copy wears a flat cap and the middle one the cowboy hat. Vertical 9:16 at 720p. It can take up to several minutes. **Human:** Kling 3.0 Motion Control copies the moves of a viral solo take of the dance, not the dancer. You keep your own face, hair and clothes, and the clip plays in the place from your photo, at 720p in your photo's frame. All three come with the song, put back on after the run. Press "Create your own" and pick Cats, Dogs or Human; the exact price shows on the Generate button before you spend anything. Every run is a new take, so results differ. ## La Calabaza meaning: what does la calabaza mean? What does la calabaza mean? La calabaza in English is "the pumpkin": a calabaza is a pumpkin or a squash. So the la calabaza meaning in the trend is simple: it is the pumpkin song, which is why it took over in the weeks before Halloween. The la calabaza translation tells you most of the la calabaza song meaning, because the hook is mostly the title shouted on the beat. The La Calabaza song is "LA CALABAZA (TINIEBLA Edit)" by Pumpky, which is why people also search "Pumpky Tiniebla", "Tiniebla Pumpky" and "Pumpky La Calabaza". This page does not print the La Calabaza lyrics or the letra: the song belongs to its owners. Your clip comes with the same seconds of the song the reel uses. In Spanish, people search the dance as la calabaza baile or baile de la calabaza, and the cowboy hat kittens are just "los gatitos". ## Where did the dancing cats meme come from? The La Calabaza cats are AI kittens. The dancing cats meme started on 28 June 2026 with @meowtakeover, an account that makes AI cat animations, and the La Calabaza meme came from the same account on 27 August: three kittens on a night road, a cowboy hat and a pair of glasses, the pumpkin song. That is the La Calabaza meme origin, and the reel this page's Cats copies. From there the cat dance trend went everywhere: green-screen copies for edits (dancing cats green screen clips, La Calabaza gif and La Calabaza cats gif posts), people dancing next to the kittens, gatos bailando and gatitos bailando posts in Spanish, AI dog versions (perros bailando la calabaza) and even the cat with cowboy hat dancing as a sticker. Three kittens dancing, or three cats dancing, is now one of the most copied AI pet clips of the year: a cat dance meme you can make with your own pet, since real cat dancing on cue is not an option. ## Which sound and hashtags should you post it with? Your clip comes with the song, so it is ready to post. You can turn the song off on the result screen and pick the La Calabaza TikTok song yourself when you post (the La Calabaza song TikTok sounds have hundreds of thousands of videos). The song belongs to its owners, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. Music rules differ from platform to platform, so check them before you use the clip in an ad or a paid post. **Hashtags:** #lacalabaza is the biggest La Calabaza TikTok tag, with 57,428 videos and 517 million views on 16 October 2026, then #lacalabazatiktok (4,648 videos) and #lacalabazatrend (1,042). #catdance and #halloween work too, and the same tags work on Instagram Reels. Keep the platform's AI label on. Post before Halloween on 31 October, while the La Calabaza Halloween wave is at its peak. Want more Halloween dances? Run it again with a sharp photo where the fur and markings are clear. | | The three copies do not match | Use a photo where the whole pet is in good light; a dark or blurry photo gives each copy its own guess. | | A paw looks like a hand | The prompt asks for real furry paws. Run it again, ideally with a photo where the paws are in view. | | Your big dog looks small on Cats | Cats keeps the kittens' size and places. Pick Dogs for a dog. | | The dance looks weak (Human) | Kling keeps your photo's frame. Use a standing photo with your whole body in view. | | The video model refuses the photo | Some photos get refused. The credits come back; try another photo. | ## La Calabaza Dance trend questions ### What is the La Calabaza dance? The La Calabaza dance is the TikTok trend where three little dancers stand on their hind legs on a roadside at night and dance in sync to "La Calabaza" by Pumpky. It started with AI kittens by @meowtakeover on 27 August 2026 and spread as the La Calabaza trend: real pets, people, dogs in hats. MakeViral makes your own version from one photo. ### How do I make my cat dance La Calabaza with AI? Press "Create your own", pick Cats, and add one clear photo of your cat. Press Generate; the button shows the price first. You get an AI cat video of about 14 seconds: three copies of your cat dance the La Calabaza cat dance on the night road, with the song: an AI cat dance with your own cat. This AI cat dancing clip needs no CapCut template, no app and no La Calabaza dance tutorial. ### Can my dog do the La Calabaza dance? Yes. Pick Dogs to make my dog dance the way the viral AI dachshunds do: three copies of your dog stand up on the same road, one in a flat cap and one in a cowboy hat. It is the dog dancing AI version of the trend, the La Calabaza dog dance with your own pet. Cats works for a dog too, at kitten size. ### Why are there three of my pet? Because the original La Calabaza cats are a trio. The AI copies your one pet three times, so the whole dance crew is your pet, and keeps the trio's cowboy hat and glasses for the fun. Want only one? This template is built on the trio reel; try the AI dancing dog page for a solo pet dance. ### Can I do the La Calabaza dance myself? Yes. Pick Human and add one full-body photo. Kling 3.0 Motion Control copies the moves of a viral solo take of the dance (crossed arms, rolling hands, the arm flick, the steps to the camera) and plays them with you in your own place, with the song. ### What song is the La Calabaza song? It is "LA CALABAZA (TINIEBLA Edit)" by Pumpky, an independent producer; search "Pumpky Tiniebla" or "cancion la calabaza" to find it. The La Calabaza song in English would be "the pumpkin" song. A MakeViral clip comes with the same seconds of it the reel uses, and you can turn it off on the result screen. The song belongs to its owners, and MakeViral gives you no rights to it. ### Who made the original La Calabaza cats? The AI cat animation account @meowtakeover. Its La Calabaza reel of 27 August 2026 (28.9 million views by 16 October) is the first one that went big, and the first example on this page, with the creator's mark taken out of the sky. The dancing kittens themselves first appeared on that account on 28 June 2026. ### Is the La Calabaza dancing cats video real? No. The kittens are AI-made, and so are the dachshund versions; the original posts are AI animations. Your MakeViral clip is AI-made too, so keep the platform's AI label on when you post it. ### When is Halloween 2026, and is this a Halloween trend? Halloween is on Saturday, 31 October 2026. "La calabaza" means "the pumpkin", so the trend peaks in October; post your pumpkin dance before the 31st. For costumes, see the AI pet Halloween costume page. ### Which AI models make the videos? Cats and Dogs use Seedance 2.5: it puts your pet into the reel itself, three times, vertical at 720p, and can take up to several minutes. Human uses Kling 3.0 Motion Control: it copies the moves onto the person in your photo, at 720p in your photo's frame. ### What prompt does the La Calabaza AI trend use? No creator shared one: the original account posts no prompt, and the tutorials use a closed CapCut template. Our prompts are our own tested reel-copy words: they keep your pet's own look on all three copies and the reel's moves, hat and glasses. You write no prompt yourself. ### How long is the video and what format is it? Cats and Dogs make about 14 seconds, vertical 9:16 at 720p. Human makes about 12 seconds at 720p in your photo's frame. All are MP4 files with the song, with no watermark. ## Other AI video templates and tools - [Spooky Scary Skeletons AI Dance: You as the Vampire Under the Orange Moon](https://www.makeviral.ai/templates/spooky-scary-skeletons-ai-dance): A black cape with a red lining, a huge orange full moon, bats and glowing jack-o'-lanterns: the vampire edit of the Spooky Scary Skeletons trend.
