# How do I use MakeViral from ChatGPT, Claude or my own code?

> Connect the MakeViral MCP server (https://www.makeviral.ai/mcp) to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client, or call the REST API (https://www.makeviral.ai/api/v1) with an API key. Every run uses credits from your MakeViral account.

## Steps

1. Read the set-up for your app on [the developers page](https://www.makeviral.ai/developers).
2. For the API, make a key in Profile under **Agents & API** and send it as a bearer token. Keep it secret.
3. Ask your assistant for a trend, send the photos, and confirm. The price shows before each run.

## Good to know

- A run charges once, when it starts. If it fails for any reason, all of its credits come back.
- Assistants and API keys use your balance and cannot buy credits for you.
- Disconnect an app or delete a key any time in Profile. Access stops at once.
